Panama Canal Simulator

Panama Canal Simulator

DON’T MISS SUEZ CANAL SIMULATOR.. AVAILABLE NOW ON STEAM CLICK HERE

Live your dream of traveling thru the Panama Canal! Pilot a ship from the Caribbean Sea to the Pacific Ocean and back. Take part in prototypical canal transits. A full 1:1 scale re-creation of the manmade waterway that changed the world, the Panama Canal.

A LITTLE HISTORY

Taking two countries over twenty-five years to build, the Panama Canal was the project they said couldn’t be built. They said man and machine lacked the ability to cut thru mountains and the Continental Divide. They could only be right for so long. Begun by the French under the leadership of Ferdinand de Lesseps after his completion of the Suez Canal, and completed by the United States, the Panama Canal opened for passage on August 3, 1914 and significantly cut travel time by sea between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans and cut out the extremely hazardous journey around Cape Horn. Requiring the removal of 200,000,000 cubic yards of dirt, rock, and mud, and costing thousands of lives due to accidents and disease, the Panama Canal is one of mankind’s most important engineering accomplishments.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Start just outside the canal and follow the buoys and range lights into the canal, or take the long approach from 100 miles out and spend some time at sea as you look for land and lights. Choose your time of day. Transit the canal at night using nothing but the lights. Accelerate time or immerse yourself in a real-time simulation of an overnight canal transit and hours at open sea.

Drive legendary ocean liners, cruise ships, or Panamamax container ships. Meet ships along the way and take care to avoid collisions. Autotrack guides your ship as you control the engines and path. Watch for traffic and signals in the canal or watch the sun rise and set over the Caribbean and the Pacific. With buttery-smooth physics, rich vivid graphics, and ultra-realistic atmosphere and lighting, Panama Canal will set the standard for PC simulator games for years to come.

WITH SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE

Simple and fun enough for kids and accurate and thorough enough for professional training, Panama Canal offers something for everyone! Hardcore simulator fans will revel in the advanced propulsion model, video game novices will appreciate the easy-to-use menus and controls that make playing super easy! Start the simulation and your ship is underway. Increase speed with the ‘D’ key. Slow by cutting your power with the ‘A’ key, and toggle your ship’s anchor with the ‘Back’ key to stop. Press F5 to toggle the HUD, F6 to show landmarks, and F7 to show other vessel traffic. Sound your ship’s horn with the ‘Space’ key and change views with keys 1 thru 6. It’s as simple as that. The ship is on a track and the water is holographic.. there’s no chance you’ll get lost and there’s no chance of seasickness.

Own one of the seven wonders of the modern world.. own the the Panama Canal!.. Add Panama Canal to your Steam Wishlist today! Coming August 2021!

Ship Handling Simulator

Ship Handling Simulator

If the player has any ship handling or boat handling experience, then he/she will find this simulator of great interest. As others have commented, there is a lot that is missing from it. But, there’s a pile of good stuff that it has got for the ship enthusiast. And, there’s plenty of work to do. If any player can complete all of the tasks set out in Ship Handling Simulator, for all of the ship models, for all of the weather conditions (within reason), then let him/her come on here and boast about it! This game is money well spent.

Being a veteran of Ship Simulator 2008 when my PC was on Windows XP, it is very refreshing to finally have a bug free maritime platform.

One doesn’t have to read all the negative reviews that Ship Simulator Extreme has accumulated, to realize that it has been chronically bugged for way too long.

Now comes to the rescue Ship Handling Simulator.

My operating system is on good old Windows 7/64 on my backup PC, and SHS runs perfectly.

No crash on desk top, smooth FPS, and really nice graphics.

Must point out that everything is unlocked from the very start, all ships and missions are available.

Two Coins

Two Coins

Two Coins is a time-traveling action adventure. You play as Richard, a guy with a completely normal life. He finds a magazine about forests and wilderness at work and is inspired to go on a forest trip.

“Richard walks for a while before it gets dark. Suddenly he falls into a cave and faints. When he wakes up he is confused and trying to find his way home again. Things seem different now. Very different.”

This is a single-player game where you can switch between first person or third person perspective. Survive by hunting, eating and drinking. Do tasks for people, contribute to the village, and even build your own temporary home. Perhaps the most important thing is to try to find the way back to the present again. If it’s even possible?

Horizon’s Gate

Horizon’s Gate

It’s a unique game, I’ll give it that. Definitely a big improvement from Alvora and Voidspire. Not really my game, though. I still think Voidspire is the best of the series and Alvora is a close second.

Gameplay is the usual turn-based combat with added ship combat. Ship combat, however, you can’t attack and then move, you have to move before you attack or your turns ends. This makes ship combat difficult as enemy ships will easily gang up on a single ship. Sure, make sense and you can do the same to the other ships, but it makes ships very expendable, and that’s bad when even the mediocre lower-tier ships cost like 8000 per, which is a lot. You can also board other ships to try and capture/disable them(by killing all of the crew) but you have limited ### of turns do so per boarding, which personally makes no sense to me, even balancing-wise. When you board, your turn ends too, so you’ll be at a disadvantage if you fail the boarding. Ship attacks hurt both ship hull and crew health.

Since I wasn’t aware there was a Character Limit to Steam Reviews, I’ve put my full thoughts overall here. Sorry if it’s awkward as a result.

Now. I’m going to preface this entire review with four things, since I find them very important to mention.

Outside of me not exactly conforming to normal review/recommendation formats since I rarely do them. Sorry, really not good at this. Either way!

Blue Horizon

Blue Horizon

Well what can i say it’s a good game but has many bugs and issues but they are getting sorted by the Developer

PLEASE NOTE…this game is playable to a point in the game as the patch 1.0.8 has not corrected all the issues with the save and load process you still can’t save upgrades bought from a shop keeper in the city also the quest you get from the pirate in the inn where you pay 50 gold pieces for the quest he marks it on your map but when you save and load back up it is no longer there on your map, also it does not save any provisions you have collected.

Update: I no longer recommend Blue Horison.

The updates have practically stopped. There were a few after the game went live, and I think there was one a couple months ago, but there have not been significant changes to the game. Even with bug fixes, there are fundamental problems with Blue Horizon and it seems the developer is done with the game, which is a shame.

As far as stability, the game is solid. Visually, the game is pleasing and immersive (and less clunky than it was initially), but the functions within the game work against the immersion by smearing it with a feeling of low-budget-indie-developer who has reached the limits of his talent. Look up MDickie.com as an example. I don’t mean to be cruel here, it’s just that the player has minimal impact on the in-game world which limits interaction and the developers are okay with that, as if the game is a prof of concept demo. I understand that the game is Story-Driven, but it detracts heavily from RPG elements. I prefer to see a labor of love with the developers churning out patches and updates, you know, actual development that says this is a project more than a product. In this case, the game feels like a product on rails intended for a quick and incidental sale. Maybe this game will be a stepping stone in Blue Horizon Studios' journey into the single-player pirate genre (a genre long neglected), hopefully with something ground breaking later.

Make Sail

Make Sail

The game is really fun and relaxing. It’s a sandbox ship builder that uses realistic physics to make you feel like you’re really sailing.

TL;DR - The game is great if you want to sail around in a boat you create and look at stunning art, but it is an early access game. Content is a bit lacking, but it will be added as soon as the big bugs are fixed. Great sailing simulator right now.

Pros:

  • Graphics/Art: The graphics/art in MS are wonderful and are very pleasing the look at. 26+ hours in and I’m still taken away by them.

Real player with 87.9 hrs in game

Make Sail is a game with a delightful building system, very enjoyable content, and a constant stream of updates that continue to make a smoother and more awesome experience. it provides a largely tranquil exploration of a mysterious world that has captivated me from the first time I booted up the game, where you can craft your own ship, and set sail around a map that provides a fair amount of content for the game’s value. Though you might question the price tag after your first time around the map, you’ll find that you can easily come back a month or two later, and enjoy another refreshing trip around the randomly generated islands, struggling to grab parts for your ship off the back of the newly added turtle islands, or trying to steer your boat away from those goddamn birds.

Salt 2: Shores of Gold

Salt 2: Shores of Gold

Salt 2: Shores of Gold is an open world pirate game with a focus on exploration, survival, and crafting. Set sail across an infinite ocean with just you and your ship. Explore islands filled with caves, ruins, pirate camps, towns, and other mysterious places. The world is procedurally generated, so you’ll never run out of islands to explore. Hunt and fish for survival, find resources to craft rare items, decorate your ship, go on quests, level up your skills, and fight legendary pirates. Salt 2 also features RPG aspects such as loot rarities and talents so you can customize your character to fit your playstyle.

What Makes Salt Unique?

You might be wondering what makes Salt different than other pirate games. There’s a few things. For one, we’ve put our focus on the single player exploration experience. This means you don’t need friends to help you manage your boat or to explore the world. This isn’t a game focused on naval combat, but instead on PVE content such as exploring the sea, going on quests, crafting and survival elements, leveling up skill systems and unlocking talent trees, and discovering interesting places and loot. Because of this focus on exploration, we’ve also made the world procedurally generated so you can explore in any direction for as long as you want.

Explore an Infinite World

We wanted to create a pirate game that focused on exploration and adventure first and foremost. You start in the middle of an infinite ocean with just you and your ship, pick a direction, and set sail across a procedurally generated world. Experience pure freedom in where you go and what you do. Discover uncharted islands filled with quests, pirates, and hundreds of points of interest such as ancient ruins, caves, pirate camps, villages, and other mysterious places. Even though the islands are procedural, our points of interests are hand crafted with unique secrets, puzzles, and design.

Fish and Hunt to Survive

You’ll need some food to survive. Grab a fishing pole and toss a lure overboard to catch some fish or grab your bow and head into the woods to hunt some wildlife.

Craft and Upgrade

As you explore the world you will discover tons of resources that can be used to craft new items, armor, weapons, and upgrades for your ship.

Decorate Your Ship

We want your ship to be your home at sea. While exploring the world you will find items to upgrade your ship, decorating it and making it unique to you. And you won’t need other people to help manage your ship. It’s just you, the sea, and the endless horizon.

Level Up

Unlock talent trees for different skills such as combat, fishing, crafting, hunting, and get unique perks for your character.

Loot Epic Gear

Salt 2 features an RPG style loot system with different rarities of armor and weapons, and interesting stats to tailor to the play style you want. Each piece of gear also has randomized talents. So whether you are crafting a high level item, or hunting down a pirate captain for an epic sword, you’ll always be searching for that new rare item with the perfect roll.

Fight Legendary Pirates

The islands are full of dangerous enemies. Fight legendary pirates, bosses, and dangerous wildlife in your hunt for adventure.

Go on Quests

Dock your ship at a sea port and pick up quests and commissions from guilds, the townsfolk, and merchants.

How is Salt 2 Different from the Original?

If you’ve played Salt 1, you might be wondering what is new in the sequel. For starters, a complete visual overhaul. We are switching to a new rendering pipeline allowing for much better graphical fidelity. This means brand new models, textures, shaders, lighting, animations, UI, and performance improvements. We are also revamping the island generation system for more varied and interesting looking islands. In addition to that, Salt 2 will have hundreds of hand crafted points of interest such as caves to make exploration a much more deep and unique experience.

We are also putting a much bigger focus on crafting, survival, and ship decoration mechanics. In Salt 2 these mechanics will be deeper than the original and feed directly into the gameplay loop. You’ll also be able to level up your weapons and unlock talents that fit your playstyle. And of course Salt 2 will include brand new quests, new gear, improved combat mechanics, and a new soundtrack.

Stormworks: Build and Rescue

Stormworks: Build and Rescue

the game is generally good and i enjoy playing it but it has its fair amount of downsides too, but i am only making this review to complain that they changed how rocket fuel tanks looks, because it seems that they failed to realize that players have been using the rocket fuel tanks for decoration and now when it became simplified it just looks stupid. and there is no way to use the old ones. :(

Honest review from someone who has put a huge amount of time into this game

  • Badly optimised, crashes are fairly common.

  • Multiplayer mostly unplayable due to desync between clients.

  • Base game content is lacking after they pulled the original missions

  • Original purpose of the game entirely lost and forgotten by the devs based on a single discord poll

As much as I had no issues with the weapon DLC coming as it could’ve added some real great additional content but sadly the entire focus has been on the weapons.
