Wakamarina Valley, New Zealand

Wakamarina Valley, New Zealand

It looks great but it only covers a very small area, its over before you know it. The graphics are very good and it shows what the dev. can achieve. I look forward to the next project but this is just too brief. I don’t recommend this title as it is but if you want to support new developers like I do then buy it, just don’t expect to stay long in the valley.

If only there were more virtual tours around the world to take from our couches.

This is a gorgeous location with nice graphics and calm music.

Volumetric lights and god rays boost the overall atmosphere.

The bokeh effect could be less intense.

The available area for exploring could be larger.

It was a relaxing experience.

OVERVIEW:

The game is a survival singleplayer game, where you feel thirsty and hungry, and has a few vendors scattered around, where you can buy or find items all over the map. The map is large and allows for extensive exploration. It has 10 missions where you must fulfill various types of objectives, from assassinating targets, cleaning areas, recovering items, etc. As I really like this type of game I decided to give it a try.

POSITIVES:

The environment of the map is just incredible, it´s very difficult to find such a well-developed indie game, the sounds, the scenery, the items, the collectibles… Everything is perfectly done, which left me stuck for a few hours exploring and contemplating all this.

Rocket Explorer

Rocket Explorer

A fun program/game that allows you to play around with a good amount of real-life rockets. There is a decent amount of bugs, and the GUI is not very intuitive. However, it is a beta release, and I’m sure all of these flaws will be fixed in the near future.

Hi,

As a Space fan, I was looking forward to this game.

But paying around 10 Euros wasn’t worth at all. The achievement system doesn’t work, a lot of details are missing (for example the engines which come in form of basic shapes, …), a lot of rockets just warp into the sky when launching, etc…

On the other side, I see a lot of potential, the described flaws are all solvable by code or design. Maybe a feature could be added where you could see what’s going on inside the rockets. Ich which parts are the tanks for Oxygen, Hydrogen, Methane, RP1, where is cargo storage, where does the crew sit…

Beautiful & breathtaking views look great in this VR experience. Looking forward to more locations to be added. One problem I faced during launch of the program (using my Oculus Quest-2) is the audio remaining on the PC speakers and not on the headset. Every time I have to manually change the audio device to the headphone of headset. Other thing I did not like is to separately downloading each scenery which takes a lot of time as they are pretty large and waiting during this time spoils the experience somehow. If during installation all the destinations are downloaded at the same time with the option to delete the ones I do not like later would be great. Otherwise a great experience.

This is a great little piece of virtual tourism and provides a little inobtrusive education along the way. The night view appears to be just a filter over the day view with a different skybox but that’s a minor niggle when the rest of the experience works so well.

An undocumented feature I discovered accidentally is the ability to reframe an ingame screenshot; Take a picture (with Valve Index just point one palm away and one towards you in the “photo framing” gesture), and if you don’t have the shot aligned perfectly you can grab the image card and move it around the scene to correct it before saving - very handy.

Dear Mom

Dear Mom

A short and very sweet journey through a daughter’s message to her Mom. This is a walking simulator with a heart and for anyone who has loved and lost their mother, it will strike a deep emotional chord.

Dear Mom takes less than an hour to explore. You wander freely through the environment, clicking objects as you find parts of a letter (audio snippets), memories of Mom, and floating hearts. The Mom memories made me smile, as so many were things that I heard growing up. The game has no save and ends when you reach a final point.

The Game, that touched me most this Year. A Game that definetly needs more attention.

Rereviewed for the Autumn Sales Quests.

Also hoping for making more Readers interested in it.

The Endless Summer - Search For Surf

The Endless Summer - Search For Surf

The waves are nice, the surfer can surf. I recommend buying this game. Although in early release, it is playable and updates flow very often.

As you look into the face of a clean glassy wave, you can carve it up.

The Surfer is smooth and fluid while surfing. you can carve, do cutbacks and generally surf on a wave.

I hope other people support this game as the developer clearly surfs and can translate this into a surfing game.

Personally i was not initially impressed in the idea of travelling and searching for spots, but the implementation of this principle is really good. You can find all sorts of varied waves on the world map.

Desperate for a new surfing game , It pains me to type it as I am willing to overlook pretty much everything , but the surfing aspect of the game is awful it has no redeeming qualities . Hopefully they continue to improve the game its a great concept but its really far away from being playable.

Bus Driver Simulator

Bus Driver Simulator

Out of all the bus simulators on Steam, this is arguably the one with the most realistic feeling to it. Much of what you’ll be driving are old, Soviet-era tanks with no power anything that moan and groan over dips in the road. Expect lacking acceleration and the barest hint of functional brakes, which only becomes more pronounced with winter mode enabled. Turning radii are laughably bad, you’ll spend lots of time hopping curbs at first. The AI controlling other traffic is a mix of sensible and terrifying, with cars occasionally lane changing into you for no reason and the odd guy driving the wrong way. Accidents entirely caused by the AI are unusual now but they still happen, which adds a bit of a time limit factor if you hope to complete your route correctly. Passenger models are quite good with displaying individual character, just don’t be surprised to see clones when driving the larger buses. One thing you’ll not see anywhere else in a driving game are pedestrians using crosswalks and occasionally jaywalking…hard to spot sometimes and crunching them comes with a stiff penalty.

At its current state, the game is alright. Beside some stuff you may consider buying it, but it’s better to wait more and see if there will be any improvement.

Pros:

Great map, i hope the German one is as good as the Russian one.

Physics are great, you may even face sliding if you pull the handbrake or understeering if you steer way too quickly.

Graphics are great and it is good seeing that they improved a lot with the updates.

Cons:

There are some major problems that are not supposed to be in there because it is a simulator after all.

This game is an insult to indie horror games. The entire game revolves around you walking through empty rooms, while flashing pictures of random “scary” figures pop up on screen with a LOUD sounds attached to it.

Blade and Ham

Blade and Ham

There is a lot to like about this but the combat needs some work. Often when doing combos the character will go through the enemies making the combo miss. Weird hit detection. I guess that is why it is early access. There is a nice overworld map with some extra levels you can take on to get coins used to continue. Decent graphics and a good variety of characters. Hopefully the developer fixes the combat issues. I probably will not play anymore until it gets some patches.

Real player with 1.4 hrs in game

The game has nice graphics, but in its current state, I strongly don’t recommend Blade and Ham. The game is NOT ready for release to the public. Blade and Ham has several big bugs & is very unpolished.

The game’s bugs are its biggest flaw. For example, you can’t save your progress (you start over at every new game). Plus, can’t take any pictures (doing so causes an error, the game ends, & you can’t exit the game either).

On a side note, Valve, please stop distributing crappy games that lack basic features. Such behavior just makes people want to go buy their games elsewhere, such as Epic Games. I wouldn’t even play Blade and Ham for free in its current state.
