100 Pumpkins
Super tight controls, it’s a whole lot of fun. Took me about 4-ish hours to achieve my first perfect run!

This game would be easy to write off because it’s….well….kinda ugly but I think that was the point.
Can YOU find all the pumpkins?

Bad animals - rabbit
Started as a rabbit. Explored my way through amazing voice effects and bouncy surfaces, experienced fear of the evil dog, till I finally found a way to exploit double jump skill into 10-times jump. I became a super-rabbit, flying through the world, figuring out the tragedic backstory of the world and about its recent events. I found end of the rainbow, fell through the world for a time that felt like eternity, screwed up the game saves, lost all progress.
Being a rabbit is badass.

Control Craft 3
Great little RTS in the same mode as Mushroom Wars, Galcon etc. And a superb follow-up to Control Craft 2.
There’s been quite a few negative reviews - so I’m writing this one on the basis of the latest patch. A new dev has taken ownership, and has been very active:
-
24 new maps (from CC2 - but they play very different in this game, so even if you breeze through CC2, you’ll find this a much harder task to complete)
-
new equipment (when I can upgrade, I suspect it will make the 24 new maps a bit easier going)

Control Craft 3 is a mobile app that’s been dumped on Steam as a lazy cash grab. It’s the third in a series of ultra simple “numbers” game where you drag your soldiers into towers and eventually get more numbers than the enemy and swarm their towers. The interface is ultra minimalistic. The game is a ripoff of many much older games like Galcom, and the gameplay is unchanged.
This is a PC port of an Apple app store game with banner ads and everything. In game advertising is a complete insult to gamers everywhere. There’s no fullscreen and you can play the game for free on the web, but without the ads. How can I recommend paying for this when it’s free on the web?

DreamWatcher
This is my ideal game. It has easy to grasp game mechanics, and welcoming audio and visuals. While having easy mechanics, the game still requires you to think to be able to complete the puzzles and progress which I really like about a puzzle game. Once you finish the tutorial and enter the nexus, you aren’t forced to start in one area and progress in a linear way. The game allows you to start wherever you want, and progress in different areas and at your own pace, that combined with a big map makes for a very immersive game you can spend a lot of time playing around and explore in. While doing the main parts in the dream and nightmare wing and after getting the first quest book, I found myself confused on what to do next. At that point I had a lot to spend at the shop, once you buy all the map locators it becomes clear. It also isn’t very clear that you can’t move the high boxes until you get later relics, maybe have a small message saying you require a relic to push and kick them. I like how bright the whole game is, the nexus is bright, with the different areas having different shades of lighting, with very nice transitions. I think that aspect is very nice and pleasing, it goes well with a puzzle game. Although the visuals can be buggy sometimes, this does not affect overall game play. I wont say what they are, but all the relics feel very satisfying to use and explore areas you weren’t able to before. Especially the last one, and the animations for it are very nice. (I like the twirl). I noticed when I was stuck on the edge of a platform, or glitched after getting off with the claws, after a few seconds I would be placed on the floor automatically. That is a nice quality of life mechanic. I like the loading screen animation, the fish is very pleasing to look at. SPOILER WARNING.
! I would say the ending is a bit confusing, so the agent just turns into a book? I’m not sure if I missed something or if there wasn’t much explanation given about that. Also the codex for the library of dreams is very exciting. I would also suggest adding a keyboard controls option, like in project hive. Having to use a controller can be off putting for some people.

I enjoyed the game– it wasn’t too difficult so might not appeal to those who need really tough bosses. I loved the intricate maps and levels. Finding my way out of some areas was the trickiest part. The control response for moving the character was snappy. The double jump feature felt very satisfying. Grabbing cubes was painful at times, and it would take me several tries to move the cube where it needed to go. The graphics for the spiders and monkeys were rudimentary. I liked getting new skills and the amount of visual detail in the environments.

Jeebo & Jerbo vs. Life
Well made platformer with a goofy side and a darker side. Fits the named genres well and has a well scored soundtrack. Replayability also makes this game worth the time youll be able to get out of it.

Fantastic game with an amazing world. The lore and story are phenomenal and the gameplay is very fun too. Highly recommend to anyone who enjoys funny and interesting worlds akin to that of Undertale/Deltarune (You can definitely see a lot of Toby Fox influence in the game lol)

Lamp Head
The protagonist of this game is a strange man with a lamp instead of a head.
The game will appeal to people who have only a couple of working keys left on their keyboard, because in LAMP HEAD the gameplay is tied to the endless character running through scary and dark tunnels on which all sorts of obstacles appear, which must be feared in order to run as much as possible.

To quote Curtis Armstrong, “Go that way really fast, if something gets in your way turn.”
Simplistic endless runner game in which you can unlock and upgrade stuff. At this point I’d imagine there are far better examples of this genre out there as it’s presentation is pretty weak.
I’m hopeless at it, I also didn’t like it. i wonder if those two things are related ?

Is this game a masterpiece?
The first question should be… WHAT is this?
A little girl with long red hair, the only one able to remove the sword from the rock, is the chosen one? She doesn’t speak, can’t jump or climb, she cannot even wield the sword and just pulls it along, but she goes on a quest to kill all the nasties in the country?

Originally, I said that this game felt really unpolished. But, in the past few days, the devs have put out two patches that address a lot of the issues that the original release had, and I’m happy to say that it’s a much better experience. The death system is much better, with the character only losing half of their diamonds instead of all of them, and the camera now pans much better so that you can better plan for obstacles, but the statue spawning has yet to be fixed as of patch 1.0.2. The fairy now moves faster, which makes it much better for combat, but it does make vertical movement harder, especially in the mountain area. The bosses are exactly the same, for better and for worse, but the spider fight is faster with the changes to the fairy. I am honestly indifferent to the map changes, as I enjoy needing to memorize landmarks and stuff.
