SUNLESS SEA
Wanted to pop a review out for this game, albeit brief.
The Sunless Sea is a top-down view game, where you make a captain and take a ship out to zee to explore the unknown, make adventures, probably die, and then make a new captain who might inherit a few of the things your last one had. For me, this was one of the first top-down games I’d played before, and its exploration focus was very different from my prior experiences of turn-based strategy games, or first/3rd person adventure/shooters and the Teltale games. These were my impressions coming from that background.

Is there a sea more sunless? This game is marketed as an immersive, story-driven, almost roguelike, nautically themed romp through alternate history London, circa 1890s. The people at Failbetter Games have created something both motivating and meaningful in their games surrounding Fallen London, utilizing hundreds of storylets that drive the player toward various choices and options.
At first playthrough, especially if you didn’t play the precursor game Fallen London, you will find yourself immersed in a world that follows many of the rules and expectations of our own, but with many questions and concepts left unanswered. I went in without having played Fallen London (though I did go back and play it once I was hooked on Sunless Sea) and my mind immediately was grabbed by the implications of what was going on in the game world around me. I loved the content and the lore that the world seemed to be steeped in, and loved it even more for the fact that it didn’t give up its secrets without its due. This game is primarily an exploration game with the pretense of combat and economics, though those are not the primary focus. That said, I very much enjoy the combat and trading aspect, but it does come easier as you get more established. It is the process of becoming established that I think turns so many initial players away.

Ebbs and Flows
Introduction
The Shore is a Narrative-driven Walking Simulator with some light combat and puzzles, heavily inspired by H. P. Lovecraft. You are Andrew looking for your daughter, Elle, on an island known for its unique geographic makeup; black sand and jagged, protruding rocks. And home to many shipwrecks. You’ve come to this little, unusual island in hopes of finding your daughter, only to find a bounteous sweeping phenomenon beyond the importance of your daughter.

! way too fuckin long to get there.**
Who is this game for?
If you like Britishness, the possibility of a decent story, nice environments or you like mildly spooky games AND you’re either willing to cheat or your time isn’t valuable.

My feelings towards this game are many and complicated. For background, Sunless Sea is one of my favourite games ever…and I can also totally understand why some people might absolutely hate it. Sunless Skies is in many ways an improvement over Sea, and yet, for me at least, it hasn’t quite recaptured the magic of Sea, and I’m not entirely sure I can explain why.
For people who haven’t played Sea, both it and Skies are games about exploring a world that is sometimes bizarre, sometimes charming, and sometimes terrifying. Both games have some of the best writing that I’ve seen in video games, with excellent worldbuilding. And both games are very slow-paced. A lot of time in these games is spent travelling from point A to point B, with only the occasional combat or random event to break up the travel. Depending on the person, this can either be a chill and relaxing experience, or an incredibly tedious one.

Curious Expedition
The Curious Expedition is yet another Kickstarter-spawned entry into the ever-growing field of Rogue-Likes, but with a refreshing new twist. This time around, the player takes on the role of a small party of 19th-Century explorers engaged in a gentleman’s wager - to travel the world on six concurrent expeditions, competing to see who can gain the most fame. It’s a fairly quick and lethal game, but that’s exactly what it’s meant to be - a good way to kill a few hours at a time, running expedition after expedition off to their doom.

The Short Pitch
TCE is one of the best games in its class, a Roguelike-inspired strategy/adventure game that will leave you wanting more. Easy enough to beat several times in one day if you’re dedicated, yet hard enough to make every victory feel like you clawed your way to it from the depths of hades.
If you’re looking at this game and you’re even half sure you want it, get it. If looking at it fills with you a warm and gooey sense of longing for the hours spent huddled around CRT monitors taking turns playing The Oregon Trail, buy it. Even if you’re a more modern gamer, but you’re a fan of FTL, Caves of Qud, the Binding of Isaac, or similar, buy it.

Lost Remnant: The End Tides
So far I’m very much enjoying the game. It’s a point and click, story heavy game.
You have been left an inheritance by your grandfather, his cabin, now yours. Through found letters you find that your grandfather wants you to leave the town, though by what means you’ll have to play to find out. You start by collecting roaches to use as fishing bait and from there you can start to craft and sell items in order to make the money needed to do as your grandfather wished.

I thoroughly enjoyed this game it was not what I was expecting when I read mysterious point and click with eldritch horrors. The game is basically a resource management gathering game with some point and click aspects but not many which is nice cause instead of looking for one hidden object or how to use an object for hours your steadily progressing towards your goal. Game was really enjoyable with messages constantly to break up the grind with plot or story there’s not much visible eldritch creatures but there’s ton of mention of them. my full 100% play through with all letters and endings here (once it finishes processing): https://youtu.be/B8UwzltTPnc I had to replaythrough the game since eldritch horrors ate half the video but just a heads up the game says you get 2 redwood logs a tree but you only get one not

Depths of Sanity
I was introduced to Depths of Sanity at PAX East in 2018, and tried it twice more at two more PAXes prior to this early access release. The handful of devs I spoke with made their inspirations and intentions very clear with their game, and I was immediately interested. They also gave me a couple of small plush sea creatures. :D I saw no issue picking up the game as soon as it was available.
For those unfamiliar, DoS is a metroidvania set in the depths of the Atlantic Ocean, and tells the story of oceanographer Abe Douglas. Following an event known as “the bloop”, a real-life event involving an ultra-low frequency subsonic vibration, the crew of the submarine Baroness are sent to investigate, and subsequently disappear with only garbled distress calls for clues. Abe, who personally assembled that team, including his own son Clay, feels personally responsible for the situation and takes an armed, one-man submersible to investigate. What he finds and learns from the Baroness' crew logs defies his understanding of the world and history in ways that might feel very familiar to certain fans like myself.

While this game is in early development, I have to say it was fun to experience! Too bad I finished all three available chapters st the moment. It is hard to put the game down since it really hooks you in. I’m surprised it isn’t more known. I really hope this game continues it’s development because I genuinely enjoyed playing it. So please keep up the good work and for the viewers of this comment, please give the developers your support in any way you can!

WARNING
This game is not for the faint-hearted or weak-willed.
It will not be a fair experience, nor will it be a pleasant one.
You will get lost. You will get frustrated. You will be forced to encounter uncomfortable things.
You will die. A lot.
We recommend playing with the lights down and the volume up.
The Bolt Age
It has some great aesthetics and a nice story, but the game needs to be polished, I will return to this review at a later date, after some updates have been made to remove the bugged enemies, which can spawn in walls, be unable to die, be invisible and there are issues with an inability to change weapons at time.
Pros
Good Aesthetics
Nice Story
Great Graphics
Smooth animation for the electricity
Level design is decent
cons
It is just way to buggy at the minute to be playable, WITH UPDATES this will be a very PROMISING GAME but it just needs some fixes to make it playable.

I was excited to try this game out as from the trailer it looked like a game a really enjoyed in my childhood.
It did turn out to feel that way, the visuals were pretty cool and the weapons felt exciting to use. Unfortunately my laptop has served it’s time and can’t handle this game’s VFX so I’ll pick it up again when I get a new rig.
