From time to time you’ll come across a game that you can just tell the developer tried and put a lot of effort into. Alient Planet Explorer (APE) is one of those titles. Other than the fact that the game is insanely short, there is a lot of good here if they choose to expand and further add to the game.

At this point, there is no story to be mentioned, but it seems like the intention is there. As the game has some tutorial dialog popups that look a lot like conversation boxes, I would like to assume they wanted to implement story and conversation exchanges. Obviously, the fact that not even a light story is present really hurts the game for a very large portion of the audience.

I got a key from the developer so thank you for letting me try your game.

I wanted to try this game because I enjoy top-down horror games like this, sometimes when I was playing I couldn’t pick up items for some reason took me a while to figure out how to get into my inventory but that’s just me i’m thick.

I went to the hospital but couldn’t find any trace of the person I was looking for but again maybe I wasn’t looking in the right place.

Overall I really liked it and gave me retro vibes of playing back in the 80’s and 90’s I made a video with no commentary just having a look at the gameplay.

Bean Stalker

Bean Stalker

Only a few hours in, but this is something special. Definitely a bit of learning curve, but once it starts to click it’s soooo cool and satisfying. I haven’t even gotten to crafting guns and stuff yet, I’m still having fun just whacking bugs with my stalk climber things to compulsively grab crafting items for later. The verticality and intense traversal make it an awesome experience. Also pretty well optimized. It’s one the few games that can run at 120-144hz on my machine. Look forward to seeing how it progresses, but it’s still worth jumping in now in my opinion!

Being quite honest, I don’t really know what’s out there in VR in terms of climbing simulation, and I never really tried one such games so I came into Bean Stalker with a mind somewhat void of expectations or bias - But knowing entirely well that a straight up simulation, this would not be!

Instead I’m proposed with an action game where you are climbing a giant bean stalk, plunder all manner of crafting materials, make yourself some tools and weapons, and murder a number of vicious critters on your way up including some bosses which are your primary enemy, the other one is the floor that sits far, far below.

Fractured Atmosphere

Fractured Atmosphere

In Fractured Atmosphere you take control of a salvage team looking to pick any scraps you can find in a cold desolate universe. Traverse zero gravity environments and sift through wreckages to find valuables while avoiding environmental hazards and ever pursuing drones. With a strong focus on immersive environments Fractured Atmosphere aims to deliver a VR experience like no other.

Environmental Storytelling

Navigate wreckages in zero gravity, with VR allowing you to be fully immersed in this eerie environment. Scour abandoned computer systems for information and learn about the people that once flew these now decrepit spaceships. Each ship you explore will help to paint a picture of this universe and the struggles involved for the people who live here.

Hazards

Environmental hazards make traversal a constant challenge that require puzzle solving and situational awareness. Time is of the essence as automated drones will seek you out and try to put an end to your illegal salvage missions. Manage oxygen levels and get back to your shuttle in time to make your escape, because death for your scavengers is permanent. Don’t worry though, there will always be another grunt ready to test their ability.

Progression

While back at your spaceship you’ll manage your crew and augment them with perks and gear. Daily challenges encourage you to keep taking risks, pushing you to level up your crew and grow stronger. Over time you’ll acquire a large arsenal of weapons and perks suited to your playstyle.

ENG

This is a great indie game, (my favorite) the developer listens to the bugs, and fixes them.

Remember it’s in early access.

I like this game. It reminds me of The Long Dark accept instead of finding food, heat, and shelter, you are gathering items for your store. As you level up, you go to new places. It isn’t triple a quality nor is it complete garbage. It is a rewarding game. It is more plentiful then The Long Dark and way, way less grind. I hit level 12 and feel unstoppable against the zombies and raiders. After you get padlock it is almost end game. I got it within a couple of hours. Not to mention the 8 turrets I have outside my store. I can pretty much start a store chain with all the loot I have. This seems to be the most requested suggestion, however I truly feel multiplayer would make this game better with what it offers. For $9.00 it is no skin off my back, for others it may be. I’ve played trashy games for more. Not great, but not trash with bugs. Suggestions would be remove infinite ammo for the handgun. Before you even get enough skill points, you have ample ammunition by that point. Also it is easy to just run by everything and not even need bullets. Not exaggerating. For what it is and the price I feel is not a big deal, this is an addicting game for people who like farming for gear. I will recommend for those types that like me are greedy and find it satisfying. If you want zombies that eat your brains like an apple and furious extreme combat, I would pass.

After around 1k hours of play time, I still love to play this gem of a game. New maps, mission types, cosmetics and so on are added from time to time for free. The available DLCs are only special cosmetics and not needed to be purchased except you want to support the developers a bit. Definetely worth a try! #ForKarl #RockandStone #Leavenobeerbehind

Flashing Lights - Police, Firefighting, Emergency Services Simulator

I’m sorry, I really want to like this game, but if I gave it a thumbs-up, it would be for the concept and not the implementation and that’s not fair to people who are considering whether or not to purchase it.

To the dev(s): I like where you’re coming from and where you’re going with this. I hope you keep persevering and turn my opinion around. There’s an ENORMOUS amount of potential here. However, it’s plagued by issues (not just pre-release bugs) that make me question whether it has what it takes to pull off a successful release.

I wanted to review FL sooner, but I also wanted to feel this game out first. I’m a simulation “expert” in that I’ve played almost every simulator game that has come out. There were some I purposely ignored for looking terrible, however. The emergency simulation genre has been struggling for a while. You have sh*tty developers and publishers pushing out games that make you want to burn the game itself so no one else ever has to experience it. Speaking of burn, I’ve been burned by these devs and publishers a lot - specifically Excalibur. They are notorious for backing garbage games. I used to be a moderator for Enforcer and had high hopes for it. Boyyyyyyyy was everyone, myself included, mislead.

#### STORY

In the future “Mega corporations” control the world’s main powers, they aim to rise above the each other by setting out to explore and map the known universe, for the purpose of profit. Through experimenting & pushing the limits of technology the goal was to open worm holes for faster exploration and exploitation of the universe. When the first attempt was made, an unstable worm hole was opened but not to anywhere in this known universe.. the wormhole released a temporal signal that caused the inhabitants of earth to almost instantly undergo some kind of demonic transformation. Earth was overwhelmed from within days.

#### INSPIRATION

The inspiration behind SYNDER would be such titles as the new DOOM games with a bit of Left 4 Dead to name some of the main ones. With this project I wanted to make a solid story driven FPS with some arcade mechanics to add to the experience. The story will take you through multiple hostile ares as you push through SYNCity gathering what you can along the way…
