#### What kind of game is this?

This is a zombie simulation of the end of the environment to survive the game.

The background of the game is one year after the zombie outbreak.

Players will play three different roles, searching for supplies in an abandoned hospital building to survive.

Each character has its own strengths and weaknesses, which will affect their chances of survival.

The materials in the game are displayed in the form of cards, which are mainly divided into weapons and consumables.

When fighting, random moves will be generated according to the characteristics of weapons to deal with the enemy. Weapons are durable, remember to maximize the use of weapons unique moves to win.

Players will lose their health, physical strength and spirit after fighting, moving and strengthening the room for rest.

After fighting in an empty room, remember to supplement your own state, otherwise the depressed state will bring serious negative buffs.

Finally, in addition to zombies, there may be a small number of survivors in abandoned hospitals.

They will be your companions or… Powerful and terrible enemies.

**(developer’s Note 1: because the game mechanism is slightly complicated, I hope you can open the second column of the main menu interface “survivor log” before playing, in which you will record the detailed game playing methods.)

玉言·离光

玉言·离光

I’ll go into some detail because there don’t seem to be any other english reviews yet. The game is listed as featuring english language support, but I couldn’t be sure if/how well it was implemented because the title and screenshots don’t include any english. I decided to give it a try because of the low price, nice visuals, and cool-sounding concept. I like deckbuilder roguelikes and play a lot of Genshin Impact, so I really liked the idea of a card battle system incorporating elemental reactions.

Interesting card system, where you’d want to balance your attacks and chain their effects. A few criticism so far:

1. the game needs more keyboard inputs, instead of just using mouse controls.

2. Obviously, if there is keyboard input, we’d need a mapping view in the setting UI.

3. Some effects like randomly nullifying a card we played is too powerful, mainly because we cannot plan for what to expect, thus killing our strategy.

Oh yeah, I played in chinese, so no idea how well the english version works.

COINS BATTLE

COINS BATTLE

I give a qualified thumbs up. If you can get this game for $0.99 or less, it’s worth playing just for the concept. I wouldn’t pay more than that. There is no tutorial and no explanation of the rules. I sort of get it and it’s interesting up to a point.

Looks like I get to write the first review for COINS BATTLE. Lucky me.

COINS BATTLE is a very low quality mobile-tier clicker game where you tap on various coins to make them “fight” other coins by running into them, just like the screenshots show. Exciting, isn’t it? Yeah, I know.

Usually I’d go into why this game is so insultingly bad no PC gamer should buy it, but I’ve lately gone through so many asset flips and game construction kit garbage, it’s really refreshing that at least there’s an original concept here. It’s not a good concept, and it’s badly implemented, but at least it’s original, as far as I know.

Deepest Chamber

Deepest Chamber

2 days in is too soon to give a full evaluation, but I am certainly enjoying this early access game. It’s a crowded genre, and this game is not without its similarities to others. However there are stand out aspects to this game that I greatly appreciate. The enemy combat prediction is unlike I’ve seen before and very enjoyable to dive into for each of the classes. Each enemy has a variety of various abilities, each tied to its own cool down timer, and fully visible. Building my decks as i get to know the enemy better has been a joy to evolve.

Deepest Chamber is an interesting title, with great visuals mixing elements from Darkest Dungeons and Slay the Spire.

I agree with a lot of the reviews, both hoping to see the development of the game in the future, but also the negative side, such as lack of card synergy, trinket management and cluttered UI.

A downside I would like to add is the evolving difficulty.

  • Whenever you complete a certain amount of kills of various enemies, you will be able to “unlock” them into more opponents you will meet in future runs.

FreeCell Quest

FreeCell Quest

If you like playing Free Cell this is probably the best game I’ve played. Freecell is a solitaire style game where you can place cards in free cells so that you can bring them into the game later and use the card behind the card you just displaced. The goal of the game is to collect all of the suits from Ace to King. In order to win you must move around cards and stacks of cards. Stacks can only be connected if they are in number order, but it doesn’t matter what color or suit they are.

As you play this game there are a few extras that are added. Eventually you can obtain new free cells, I think you have a maximum of 6. You also have spells to help you move cards around. You can randomize all the red cards, choose a specific card to move to its final destination, move all the kings to the top, and much more. As you win each level, you obtain money which you can use to obtain potions to heal your character or refresh you mana for spells during the game. There are many many levels, I mean an extraordinary amount of levels. It took me forever to beat the game. It would seem that you could play this as a casual game, but if you plan on beating the game prepare for a 100+ hour romp through this game.

Real player with 202.8 hrs in game

Not since Letter Quest: Grimm’s Journey has a game taken a simple concept and added enough systems to make it feel fresh again. Levelling up, getting new equipment and spells, etc. You might have seen something similar done already, but FreeCell Quest does it now for this classic Windows card game.

I’m sure you know the rules. Mismatch red and black suits down rows starting with a king, working your way towards collecting aces, etc - but what this game does different is that it’s like a fight, as you’re working out the solution or using up mana to draw the cards you want towards you, you’re being attacked and losing health, so much so that you might even have to retreat or lose a lot of gold if you don’t. It starts simple, but this game gets hard, and certain puzzle sequences might require you to grind to even get a chance to beat them, and since the puzzles are randomized, you can’t exactly turn to a YouTube guide. Eventually, even if you can’t figure it out, you can overpower it once you’ve gained enough in game strength.

+1 🆓

Simple Roguelike with inventory management as main focus. Similar to Dungelot. Great to pick up and play. Very easy (I’m casual player).

I could possibly unlock two additional characters (with different environments?). Problem is, I don’t find a way to save my progress.

Still, very nice prologue.

Magic of Autumn

Magic of Autumn

This game has its high points and low points, it’s a good value for the cost but not everyone will enjoy it.

The card battling is interesting, you don’t get to re-use cards so you have to carefully build your deck and choose how you play. I found it very thought provoking and a fun challenge, but you cannot expect a traditional deck shuffler here.

The atmosphere is very nice, I liked the art style and the story snippets contributed nicely to the feel of the world.

The system of learning spells (cards) by interacting with things made the world feel alive, although it was frustrating to figure out I had missed something and have to go back and find it. Also some stuff moved around frustratingly out of reach, it took me about 10 minutes of patrolling a corner waiting for one thing to pass close enough.

Real player with 11.3 hrs in game

It’s a shame such a wonderful game goes unnoticed.

It’s a little adventure game about conjuring everything you find on your way and creating cards from it. You’ll face enemies with a lot of different strategies and you’ll have to adapt your deck accordingly.

The graphics may look simple, but they work really well all together.

And the music. Oh, the music. Simple, same as the graphics, but astoundingly charming. If the developer releases the soundtrack as an extra, I’ll buy it, no hesitation.
