Well… it’s something.

The game only has 5 “game modes” which consist of something non-sensical and boring, there isn’t really anything “relaxing” or satisfying about them. The music cannot be adjusted and is pretty loud. Honestly it just feels like a school project from 2005 done by two students that just served to be presented infront of a class and then forgotten. Definetly not worth the money, I got it from a steam gift

One Pixel TWB

One Pixel TWB

2D platform game with minimalist graphics in Pixel art, your goal is to climb the castle while defeating various bosses that try to prevent your passage. With each floor you pass the game will present you with increasingly difficult bosses to defeat, add this to dialogs that portray the history of this universe and an extremely difficult difficulty for the vast majority of people.

To defeat these bosses you have the following abilities:

  • Create Platforms Underneath You.

  • Shoot.

  • Dash.

  • Jump and Duck

  • 2d Movement.

The graphics of the game has a focus mostly on the colors black, white, grayscale and red, in some parts of the game other colors may appear but are almost null.

During the game you follow the point of view of the White Pixel who is having his city attacked, you as a good emperor must stop the enemy and if you have a thirst for knowledge can try to find out what caused all this chaos.

One Pixel The War Begins is our second game presenting this very interesting universe of Pixels, unlike its older brother this game has a much wider variety of Phases, mechanics, Enhancements, Characters and more.

Also the soundtrack of the game is absolutely original of us.

Loved every minute of it. I had sat for two days playing it straight! I might even stream it just to have fun with the possible voice acting here! Though I say the game is tough at points but hey! No pain no game!

Bought the game on itch first about half a year ago, and it gave me a steam key now. Game’s fun.

I usually pay up to $10 for similar retro games so getting a decent one for $1 feels pretty good. It’s clearly meant to resemble Contra , although you can’t shoot at an angle which limits your approach to fighting. You can pick one of three characters, but as far as I can tell they are mostly cosmetic. Each character also gets a unique ride during the driving stage - I like that kind of attention to detail, even though it doesn’t do anything. There are 7 stages that last about 10-15 minutes, you can complete the whole thing under 2 hours. The difficulty is pretty fair, once you complete any level you can start from that point, but you will loose your current high score. Unfortunately, there is a way to farm points to infinity with extra lives, I hope the developer will fix that. Aside from that, I was surprised that you can remap a controller (used F310), and it has a decent soundtrack to go along with nostalgic gameplay.

Monkey vs Dino

Monkey vs Dino

Fighting games are one of the oldest pillars of video games that have been published for many years in various forms and shapes. From violent and bloody Mortal Kombat to Tekken and Street Fighter. But the issue in all fighting games is they are very slow to progress. Yes, the main thing in fighting games is to choose two characters and fight with each other. But the content of all these games would soon be boring for players who did not follow the game professionally. Another area that most fighting games didn’t take seriously was the story or single section, which in most games was not so strong that it could be considered a strong point…

Wow! Didn’t expect to have so much fun with this game. It has shooting, exploration and invisible stuff lurking all over the place. I KNOW! Most of them are itens to boost your level, but I love to discover things anyway. =D

You can unlock new abilities and improve your overall stats. Pretty cool!

Took me about one and a half to two hours to get to the end and then I discovered that i missed some blue bugs.

I’ll be returning back to the game soon and will try to find these missing bad boys.

I sincerely believe this to be a great game, and both it and the developer show a lot of potential. From the pleasant music that I can happily have in the background for hours at a time, to the wonderful pixel art of the characters, creatures and environments, to the sublime atmosphere that they all culminate in, I enjoy it all to an extent that I really did not expect. This is an absolute gem among similar Steam games, and the diligence of the developer is admirable.

With the Exchange update, the game is in better shape than it’s ever been; each update from the Overhaul until now has been better than the last, continually enhancing the game and polishing it as much as possible. Combat is fast, smooth, and responsive (just turn directional attacks on,) and due to the unique weapons compiled with the corpse and heart systems, has a level of depth that is simply staggering.

DO NOT BE DECIEVED. THIS GAME HAS EXTREME POTENTIAL WITH ITS DESIGN DECISIONS, EXPLORATION, SECRETS AND LORE CAPABILITIES AND COMBAT.

When you first open this game up it will appear clunky and dislikable. A feeling of powerlesness will come upon you as you’re not even capable of getting past the first tutorial step.

Then slowly but surely you begin to understand movement, controls, physics, mechanics, weapons, armors, abilities, everything. The learning curve is slightly steep but very very rewarding.

Stellar Interface

Stellar Interface

It’s a rogue-like (permadeath, mild persistent progression, large in-run progression) shmup, with synergies of the same caliber of Isaac. Really cool items that change the run significantly, such as Mitosis and Social Dronewinism, Mitosis doubling your drones, and Social Dronewinism doubling their shots, with a boost to their damage and fire rate to boot. Combine them, and every drone you get suddenly becomes a force to be reckoned with. Also, the music is incredible, ranging from end-game Kirby-esque songs (such as the song for Babushka) to Castlevania-esque music for the final area and boss. It also has only a single resource besides health to manage, called RAM, that determines what weapons you can equip at merchants, so no more being unable to find that one key or bomb or whatever. Finally, it has a variety of ships, ranging from the early ships that simply have bonuses for only equipping one type of weapon, to the endgame ships which have things like Myopia (the Proptosis equivalent) to only a single weapon slot, but drones that copy your weapons, as well as Mitosis. It’s really good.

I love this game. Everything from its art style to sound design and just its concept is great. A rogue like space shoot, but its random choices is what makes this unique. Each spaceship has a unique style as well as atributes like health, mobility, slots for how many weapons it can have on hand to use, and ram. Ram is the most important aspect since it matters on what can be selected from for weapon choices. The weapon sytles are missiles, torpedos, machine guns, and blasters. Depending how much ram is allocated from what spaceship was selected by will allow a random chance on how strong each type of weapon style to pick from for the slots provided. In addition, there are consumables which can help out in tight situations and act like a third weapon but only for a one time use; unless through killing enemies to build up charge for another use. There’s a possibility to obtain other consumables through completing a stage or refresh from a merchant interaction stage.

COINS BATTLE

COINS BATTLE

I give a qualified thumbs up. If you can get this game for $0.99 or less, it’s worth playing just for the concept. I wouldn’t pay more than that. There is no tutorial and no explanation of the rules. I sort of get it and it’s interesting up to a point.

Looks like I get to write the first review for COINS BATTLE. Lucky me.

COINS BATTLE is a very low quality mobile-tier clicker game where you tap on various coins to make them “fight” other coins by running into them, just like the screenshots show. Exciting, isn’t it? Yeah, I know.

Usually I’d go into why this game is so insultingly bad no PC gamer should buy it, but I’ve lately gone through so many asset flips and game construction kit garbage, it’s really refreshing that at least there’s an original concept here. It’s not a good concept, and it’s badly implemented, but at least it’s original, as far as I know.
