Dooria
This is a great game for someone who has some time on their hands and likes to figure things out. Each section of the game has its own rules, which provides for a good deal of variety. It has a pleasant atmosphere throughout and is contemplative as opposed to action-packed. A lot of bang for the buck at $16.

If you want to get your ass handed to you by a gentle sweet game with calming music and the meanest puzzles I’ve seen in a while, by all means try this game out. This really itched a part of my lizard brain I that I had been missing from other puzzle games.
Downsides are: 1) It can be frustrating and tricky to figure out all of the rules at first (due to some differing door varieties and etc) and 2) it’s not easy to figure out the “plot” of what all doors to open and how close you are to being finished…. but overall definitely persevere if you’re a puzzle junkie like myself.

Chionophile
While this game is tiny (the trailer honestly shows you most of the game) it’s stunningly pretty in a way you can’t quite define. Like other walking sims from the dev we are outside, this time in winter. Kind of like Bottle, but with a more upbeat tone and fresher graphics. It is short, especially if you use your right mouse button to act as a sort of heads up display and track down flowers and platforms quickly.
But there’s also a lot more to explore once you’ve checked all the achievements off your list. Honestly, yes, it’s short. I clocked in at 45 minutes, and I got terribly lost too. But it is also like Bottle in that you can make your own fun. Go back in and take a lovely walk in the gorgeous landscape. Let your worries go and just be.

In a similar vein to “Pluviophile”, it’s a nice looking environment, but with a number of strange design choices that mar its potential to be a nice peaceful walk.
To start, there are still, for some reason, flowers that you need to pick up and take to stone circles to open the path forward. There isn’t anything inherently interesting about the mechanic, so it just detracts from the experience by arbitrating certain places where you must go, making you less inclined to explore elsewhere on your own.

Lost Voice
At first glance, the story is simple, if not cliched. A player finds themselves in a strange and unfamiliar world - they don’t know where they are or how they got there. And it appears they don’t remember anything up to this point. Almost immediately the player is contacted by a group of characters with similar symptoms and together they start an investigation to unravel these mysteries. Where are they? Why can’t they remember anything? These and many other questions will be answered in the most unexpected ways.
At its core, Lost Voice is a first-person shooter, with strong exploration and some puzzle elements. Town Square is a safe space where the player can go to seek shelter and communicate with NPCs. Teleport Room that can be found there is used to reach other worlds (dungeons). Each world has its own gameplay twist.
There is no “Game Over” screen in Lost Voice. Instead of dying, the player teleports to the Well when HP is depleted. Upon climbing the Well to the top, the player transports to the Secret Room, nearest to the player’s “death” location. These rooms are closed from the inside, so the player will need to figure out how to unlock them.
Hot Pot For One
It’s mostly about loneliness, very, very short, and easy to misunderstand. By most standards, it would be barely a game at all. But if you don’t have expectations this thingy never tried to meet, it is kinda… nice. You stand in the kitchen, cook, eat, and for every piece you eat, memories start floating up, showing how food connects you to people, mostly your significant other. You eat rather little, clean up a bit and watch the end titles. There are no other people, no movement, no action, and if you were depressed to start with, you are not going to feel less depressed. But you may recognize the feeling.

The good:
-
Nice atmosphere
-
Music is sweet
The bad:
-
Boring as hell
-
Story isn’t worth it because there is none.
-
Art made for the “memories” you get when you eat a piece of food are just crudely drawn stickmen.
-
All that stuff in the fridge and cupoards? You can’t touch it. I was expecting to have the ability to get silly and pour coke into my hotpot. Nope.
You turn it on, put stuff in it that doesn’t burn (so it’s no fun), eat only a set number of food from it that makes you think about ugly stickmen, put a tiny amount away in a large fridge and then dump over 150 food items into the bin.

Platzkart Simulator

Was playing while friends were watching. Got 6th place and one of them yells “You died because you didn’t eat enough elephant butt”.
He was right. Needed to eat more elephant butt.
Note to self for next match: Eat more elephant butt.
