I am loving it. I love the chatbox conversations the coworkers are having. I love the stupid caricature of the boss type. I love the writing sample selections. I love the color. While this game is in desperate need of a tutorial that experts could skip and the zoom function for the text area is a little awkward, it’s totally workable.

Most importantly, I love how this worked out so well as a game to sit and play cooperatively with someone. It’s fun to solve these puzzles together and try to optimize the work you’ve done. This was absolutely worth the small fee to buy this game.

Addictive as hell!

But you need to know the basics of Regex! Because unfortunately, the explanations are really bare-bones.

(Reading the reviews, this put off a lot of people. Which is a shame: The Dev could just add more detailed, in depth explanations. All it costs is a bit of his time.)

If you actually want to learn Regex, one step at the time, each step with a detailed explanation plus an interactive example, go here: https://regexone.com/

I find this the easiest, best resource to get started with Regex.

Cyborg Earthworm

Cyborg Earthworm

Cyborg Earthworm is a “Snake” automation game. The worm follows the rules of the famous Snake game, and you can program it. Develop a strategy and let the worm follow it without your involvement.

  • Solve and optimize 20+ areas, each of which contains a virtually unlimited number of procedurally generated levels.

  • Watch the worm dominate the levels automatically without having to pilot it.

  • Reach the maximum possible length, filling all free space.

  • Use a variety of tools like paint spray for leaving marks in the soil and internal worm memory for tracking things.

Challenge if you think your brain is smart

If you clear Episode 3, you will likely be scouting from NASA.

Challenge the universal genius!

I like the idea of the command blocks: you don’t write a code, but learn how it works. It didn’t have to be a VR game, by the way. I would love to play on PC or mobile. Overall, this is a great VR puzzle game.

Cadence

Cadence

Cadence is something different: a hybrid of game and music sandbox. Understanding how to bring these two worlds together has been a quest 8 years in the making. It’s now finally here for you to enjoy.

How you spend your time with Cadence is up to you. Some people will enjoy relaxing with the game and solving levels. Tinkerers will enjoy fiddling with music in the sandbox. The crazy ones will program things we didn’t even know were possible.

Game play

You don’t need a sense of rhythm or a good ear to play Cadence - just your thinking cap and a bit of patience will reward you with gentle zen melodies. Puzzles start simple and build up to complex head-scratchers.

Make some noise

If you’ve tried music production you’ll know it’s intimidating. Cadence’s sandbox mode has been meticulously designed so that “time to first sound” is mere seconds. It doesn’t matter if you’re a composer looking for inspiration or you’ve never made a note of music in your life - Cadence is an entirely new and playful way of interacting with music.

Many are better than one

Cadence goes deep: underneath the game there’s a Turing complete logic system and a host of music production tools for you to explore. What’s possible with Cadence is an open question.

That’s why Steam Workshop is deeply integrated with effortless one-click import:

  • play the best community generated levels

  • collectively learn new techniques

  • show off your proudest creations

qrth-phyl

qrth-phyl

qrth-phyl falls in the class of games like Lumines or Space Invaders Extreme that offer simple, familiar mechanics, carefully tuned and immaculately presented. It’s a love letter to snake-like arcade games, with easter-egg tributes to the genre’s innovators. You alternate between snaking around the outside of rectangles or rectangular prisms and free-movement 3D snaking inside those prisms. The idea of 3D snake worried me initially, seeming like a potential camera disaster, but the implementation is rock solid and I haven’t had a death that didn’t feel like my fault. Playing well increases “corruption,” which increases the difficulty of the proc-gen levels but offers more dots and a higher chance of encountering the treasured blue dots, which turn your tail into dots for you to consume like Pac-Man CE:DX’s satisfying ghost trains. The dynamic difficulty system persists between runs, and it feels like one of the best such systems I’ve encountered, quickly dialing in a consistently engaging level of challenge.

I absolutely love this game. The aesthetics are working great for the retro-arcade style. The controls are responsive and the game is challenging. Also the hidden sequence adds yet another dimension to the game (pun not intended).

I got this game years ago on IndieGameStand. That store doesn’t operate anymore and I had the only .exe file I managed to download before they went out of business. And here we are, qrth-phyl finally safely in my steam library.

I’m looking forward for future updates. Maybe VR support could be nice?

another would-be-great game ruined by thinking players have all the time (and willingness) in the world to replay half the puzzles to get back to the point where they stopped (or had to stop) last time. if your trailer says 100+ puzzles, let me select them individually, not just 21 packs of 6 or so that have to be done in one go. or at the very least save my progress on the current level so I can continue there next time and/or try another unlocked level in the meantime. the game wouldn’t be any easier, only less tedious and frustrating.

Real player with 6.9 hrs in game

This is a different type of puzzle game where you have to intuitively learn the rules through playing. I’ve not played anything like this before, but it is kind of a mix of sudoku and path games. Very intriguing and it can get quite difficult. I spent almost 2 hours trying to find the solution to the last puzzle (which I did -YAY!) and just a few seconds on some of the earlier puzzles. The concept seems simple at first, but it gets more complex as you move to higher levels. I couldn’t really describe the rules to you, but I know what they are intuitively, LOL.

Discord Rich Me! (Custom Rich Presence)

Discord Rich Me! (Custom Rich Presence)

Works great! Easy to use and so far it has basically no bugs. The only thing that needs to be done is add the all the templates.

EDIT:

Now that i have over 1000 hours in Discord Rich Me, I can confidently recommend this program to any user who wants just an extra little touch to there Discord profile. One of the great things about Discord Rich Me is that you just start it, minimise it to your tray, and forget about it. I have Discord Rich Me running 24/7 on a spare Windows 7 Laptop i have thats over 16 years old and there is 0 performance change. The community in the Discord server is friendly and can provide help if you need it. 10/10 program, 100% worth the money.

Please understand that Discord Rich Me! is currently in BETA. It’s still missing a ton of features, but they have a lot of things planned according to their discord.

Review

As a very prominent and long time Discord user, Discord Rich Me! provides, as of April 19 2021 (19/04/21) a very straightforward interface, with some helpful (though subtle) guides on what every single textbox function does.

At the very least it provides very basic rich presence functionality, but very much so simplifies all of the painful steps it takes to make a rich presence. I do understand that this is still in beta though, and I will re-review once more features have been added over time.

Electrify

Electrify

This game is still in earliest of access, but doesn’t say so - Version 0.1 when you boot it up.

Essentially broken - experienced many crashes.

It’s very unstable, crashing when saving components.

The interface is very difficult to use and poorly explained.

Moving/deleting components clunky of fails often

Bugs where circuits gave wrong answer or moved inputs and outputs.

Stores circuits as truth tables in json - so you can’t edit previous components you’ve made. And very slow to save components with more than 8-10 inputs or outputs, and then makes megabyte sized text files.

Stratup screen says: “ALPHA VERSION, EVERYTHING IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE”

Where is it written on the store page it’s an alpha??

Could be fine/interesting, but, unfortunately, it’s really an alpha, it’s very unpolished
