Thirty Flights of Loving

Thirty Flights of Loving

The Metascore for this game is very misleading. It isn’t even an appropriate score if you try to call this “game” artwork–it’s poorly made no matter how you look at it.

You can literally beat this in 20 minutes and there is no replayability. There are two “games” inside here, in reality both are more like mini-games. Gameplay is entirely linear, there are no secrets to find, no character development, plus unoriginal and boring gameplay elements. There is no redeeming factor to this game; it’s not even priced fairly.

This is quite possibly the worst excuse for a game I have ever encountered. The game consists of about 10 different rooms, each taking about a minute to get through and suddenly out of nowhere you’re hit with a The End sign and a bunch of walkthrough credits with comments about the great decisions they made and how they decided on them. These great decisions are along the lines of weird random jump cuts that change the entire scenario for no reason. There’s also a room with displays of a bunch the game models and animated GIF video timelapses of screenshots of their creation. How impressive is that?

A strange game set in a miniature world

Save the future by exploring the strange diorama world of 20XX. Meet weirdly cute characters and unravel the mystery of how their little lives are connected to the end of mankind.

Great atmosphere overall, excellent art and solid sound design, but the standout is the writing. Confident and direct, sometimes crude, but elegant and intimate. If the game were any longer the writing style would wear out its welcome, but since it’s (intentionally) short it doesn’t overstay its welcome and invites you to read it more than once to enjoy piecing it together (and also, you know, enjoy the writing).

In short: I’ve paid many times the price of this game for books that weren’t a fifth of its quality. Recommended.

The Flood

The Flood

Expected a 5 minute journey on a motor boat through a flooded river landscape, flowing downway to arrive to a wise conclussion (or an open lake or whatever).

Got a 3 minute journey on a rowing boat, down a dry, still “river” that gets you literally nowhere

! a wall, meanwhile reading pure nonsense.

There is no “flow” feeling at all. You literally have to move the boat forward all the way or it remains still. The “flood” is nowhere to be seen; it feels more like pushing a cart around the poodles of an abandoned construction site.

Real player with 0.3 hrs in game

For what it wants to be, a peaceful, short and linear narrative experience, The Flood delivers on that promise more with its ambiance and less with its actual story. The gameplay is slow and cautious, the background story is only vaguely told by the placid scenery and the textual narrative is more of an accumulation of superficial quotes that only just connect to the rest of the game. It’s instantaneously cheesy but still quite enjoyable as long as the messages and implications are not taken at face value.

There isn’t much here. A couple of puzzles with an extremely bland narration. It’s like a Speak and Spell talking you thru the whole thing. Definitely not worth the price. I don’t recommend this title at all.

Why did I buy this game?

I will try to explain:

  • Very intriguing, vivid and challenging trailer and game screenshots on the game page

  • Excellent immersion in the game

  • Gorgeous soundtrack

  • Allows you to relax

  • relieves stress

  • Excellent quality

  • optimization

  • 20% discount

This is a single player game, I suspected that there will be a multiplayer here, but after an hour of playing, I realized what this game was for. It is designed as an anti-stress

NYKRA

EDIT: THIS GAME IS VERY LIKELY NOT CONTENT-COMPLETE, DESPITE BEING SOLD AS SUCH.

Here is the developer’s explanation:

https://steamcommunity.com/games/867660/announcements/detail/3060751829368207462

For simplicity’s sake, okay, I suppose I can believe that Chapter 7 doesn’t have any dialogue. Likewise, let’s say the text for any sort of ending dialogue and the credits are still hard-coded into the game. I don’t really believe this is done, but I can give him the benefit of the doubt.

For the missing rooms, however, it’s as if he is trying to explain away the criticism by confirming it. The theory was that later rooms were absent from the public branch because they weren’t complete. The explanation there is that they weren’t exported to the public branch because they’re broken and are being worked on in a dev branch. To a given player, these are the same thing!

Death On A Street Corner: Overdose Simulator

Death On A Street Corner: Overdose Simulator

Excellent. Buy it. Sit down for less than an hour of your busy life and enjoy it.

The decision to convey this message through a game, a format distinguished by the expectation to make decisions and influence circumstances, is a meaningful light to shine on the fallacy of “personal responsibility” in poverty and drug abuse. Moreover, Death on a Street Corner’s depiction of the working world’s co-option of family, as an institution, really conveys the inter-generational regime of fear, guilt and expectation that is created while we judge ourselves into submission and while naïve, rich kids and finance demi-gods look on, alienated and looking to be entertained.

It is incredibly depressing.

I really love the way the story is put together.

I wish there was some more interaction. I don’t mean that I should have any choices, just a few more things to do.

Definitely worth the price tag and will stick with you for a while after you play.

Aery - Little Bird Adventure

I’ve already played this game a little and realized that this game is just a masterpiece. And I’m not saying this for nothing! Firstly, the game has very cool graphics, despite the fact that the game is made in a low poly style, it is very pleasant to play it. This game helps you relax. the flight is especially well worked out, as if I myself am flying over the vast expanses of the game world!

This game has an interesting concept, but it was lacking in several things. Not only does the music and sound not work, apart from the occasional “blip” sound when collecting a feather, but when you complete a level, it just takes you right back to the FIRST LEVEL and you have to go back into the menu to continue to the next one. It was quite difficult finding some of the feathers as well, since they’re often times very hard to see due to the blinding bloom affect throughout the entire game. Overall, I do not recommend this game. The lack of music really dragged down the experience for me.
