Alpaca Ball: Allstars
Nice little indie gem with good core gameplay. It was designed with controller in mind. Playing with keyboard is possible but lacks precision in both movement and striking the ball. Has various arenas and ball types, but the single-player campaign is very short. I can only recommend to buy this one if you plan to play a lot of local co-op or during a deep sale. Online Multiplayer would be an awesome addition to the game that can justify the current full price.

I could not see where my first two hours of this game just vanished.
Super fun and super enjoyable.
Devs, if you are reading it, please consider an online mode with leadership table and other stuff. This would definitely motivate people to stick with the game and to look forward to any addons and different events.

Soldat 2
It’s a good, fun game, but still lacks a fair bit of refinement.
Hit registration is absolutely horrendous at the moment. You throw a knife at someone, you can see it hits the mark, because it then stops and drops to the floor, but no damage is done.
Similar thing with sniper rifles. You see the bullet pass through the opponent and it does zero damage.
Grenades. Sometimes you hit a person with all 3 grenades and they still don’t die, but they throw just one back at you and poof, you’re dead.
Player balancing system is just silly. When you join a server with an even number of players, you become the poor soul that is going to be tossed back and forth between teams whenever the team you’re in exceeds the other team’s score by 2 (flag caps or bases occupied). You might get thrown into the opposing team just as they’re about to lose. Lovely.

I wouldn’t recommend buying this, even if it’s for nostalgia purposes.
The game is literally dead, whenever I attempt to play there’s noone online on any servers - I’ll join a game and play with bots for a while and occasionally 1 or 2 people may join but then leave after 10-15 minutes.
There’s no Oceanic community, that’s for sure. The only community is a few Russians and Germans that sometimes populate their server, but other than that - it’s essentially dead.
There’s also no effort to boost the player population, such as creating communities for specific regions, simple things such as in the Soldat 2 Discord you can create a rank specifically for their region so people can tag @Oceania or @Australia “let’s populate a server” - there’s none of that or anything close.

Lucky me gets to write the first review for Lostria.. I think? I feel like this is not the full, proper game, but a beta test, but this is unclear from the store page exactly what you’re getting into. For that reason, in an exception to my general rule (in fact for the first time in over 5,000 Steam reviews), I’ll invite the developer to correct me if I’m wrong about my observations and opinions about this game, because it does appear to be completely free, which earns developers a large amount of goodwill.

Screeps: Arena
Screeps: Arena is an online RTS PvP-only game. Your script fights other players' script autonomously in a match-based arena environment.
Features:
-
All aspects of an RTS game: gathering resources, base building, creating and upgrading units.
-
You don’t control your units directly, you play by writing full-fledged JavaScript that runs on game servers.
-
Other languages are supported via WebAssembly : C/C++, Rust, TypeScript, Go, C#, F#, Kotlin, Swift, D, Pascal, Zig, the list is growing.
-
Your code is executed autonomously while fighting other players' code during series of short fast-paced 1x1 matchups.
-
The system will match equal opponents based on your arena rating that changes with every rating game.
-
Different “arenas” (multiplayer game modes) each with its own rules set and goals covering many aspects of a strategy game.
-
Only basic programming skills are required. However, if you are a pro developer, now is the chance to put your skills to the limit!
-
We will introduce new arenas every season so that you always have to write new code for different challenges.
-
Play with friends and design your own challenges and arenas.
Slappyball
ALL OF YOU PEOPLE LISTEN RIGHT HERE RIGHT NOW! THIS GAME IS NOT. A. CRYPTO. MINER. The original Dev of this game gave up on the game and didnt fix the obvious GPU problem. You can test this with real tests for crypto if you really want to, but looking at your usage and calling it a miner is ignorant and unfair. All the GPU problem is terrible optimization the original dev never got around to fixing. The new Dev team, Amelore have completely acknowledged this accusation and provided proof that this game is NOT a miner. They have also have provided us a few quick fixes that are still waiting to be approved DUE to the fact the ownership of this game is still under Yumbo (1st Dev). Once steam approves the transfer the game will be getting the fixes it needs.

Don’t waste your time. Dead game that I had some serious hope for but isn’t going anywhere. Player base has been in steady decline for months now due to mismanagement by the development team Amelore. They seem to have no real interest in seriously developing the game to it’s potential.
Reese, the community manager, defended a player named BlzMyz that I reported for making a racist comment about people that speak Spanish. After I spoke up that defending racism was wrong and said they are doing a bad job managing the community, they banned me from every platform connected to the game with no explanation. The same dev also privately messaged other players including the player I reported to tell them I was banned and to “block me” in an effort to keep me from outting the racist player to the rest of the community and make it seem as though I was lying. I have video evidence from the player’s stream of his racist comment as well as a multitude of raging incoherent DM’s he sent me. I also have DM’s from the devs blatantly defending and condoning racism. After I reached rank #1 on the leaderboard and became the highest level player, they seem to have shadow banned me from matchmaking with other players, probably in an effort to hope that I just go away so they can continuing pandering to a group of toxic players in their discord community.

Tower Tag
Where do I begin?
I have tried this game first time in an arcade. It was fun! But that’s pretty much it. When it came out on steam I thought why not? Price was half of what I paid for 90 minutes in the arcade and expected pretty much of the same chill shooter with random people. After 50 hours into this game, and 1 Official Tournament I cannot believe how wrong I was.
First let me tell you that this game is not just about jumping between towers and shooting other players. NO! This is one of the most intense and exciting e-sports game I have ever played! And definitely #1 for VR. This game requires tactic and teamwork that can put games like Onward to shame, combined with a faced paced game style that won’t let you take a breath till the end of the round.

I played Tower Tag for the first time years ago in a VR Arcade in my town and I was totally hooked from the first 10 seconds. This made me think about VR in a different way.
Every played Paintball? This will teleport you back into every habit you automated on the real field in seconds.
Never played Paintball? Doesnt matter, shoot em up - but be quick.
All you need is 1 controller, 2 buttons (shooting and teleport/heal) and 3 things on your mind: you can only win as a team, you need to communicate and you better bring water coz this thing will get you sweating in no time.

The game at its core is fun and enjoyable. However, playing online is NOT an option at all. Ranked queues take forever (whether this is a lack of players or global funcitonality I do not know, but it is impossible to find a game). Also crashes everytime I play with a friend. Better offline.

Madden NFL 21
If you’re looking for a realistic football simulating video game that gives you a half-way authentic NFL experience….keep looking. This year’s installment of the annual abortion that is Madden is BRIMMING with impactful bugs, scarily consistent crashes, and (assuming you’ve successfully navigated thru all of that) an entirely bland and unsatisfying simulation of the typical NFL game. Not only has this game been horribly adapted to PC, but it is entirely consistent with it’s long line of predecessors. The gameplay can only be described as “The Game of Football” according to what a native resident of Bangladesh heard of American Football was like from his Pen Pal in Saudi Arabia. Yes, you are technically running and passing the football against some character models that vaguely resemble (that’s an understatement…there’s really 0 resemblance among all of the players) NFL athletes, but the comparison to how a normal game of football plays out stops there abruptly. Without wildly changing the “Gameplay Sliders” (yes you can literally alter everything about the gameplay which to me is the Devs admitting “hey we really don’t know how impactful any aspect of this sport is so we’ll let you figure out that little detail) the game is wholly inauthentic. Adjusting the sliders makes the game a tad more realistic but overall this title is the epitome of why Madden is one of the shining examples of bare minimum effort put into a game for the sake of raking in annual sales. If you’re not one of the chumps like me who bought this game I implore you not to. The only way these games can become even halfway realistic is if EA takes a hit to their sales and recognizes that minimal investment will yield minimal return.

For years, football fans have yearned for a game with NFL licensing made by any company other than EA. The most cited competitor is generally 2K, who last made an NFL licensed game in 2004 - ESPN NFL 2K5 - one of the most well-received sports games of all time. ESPN NFL 2K5 was almost the nail in the coffin for Madden. The game received more critical acclaim than Madden 2005, while being priced $30 cheaper at a mere $20. I received the game as a Christmas gift that year, and played it for hundreds, if not thousands of hours. I can attest that its ambitions even 16 years ago were way beyond the scope of anything Madden has done since then. It is truly a tragedy for someone like me, who saw so much potential in football games back then, to see what football games have become today.
