Viking Trickshot

Viking Trickshot

This is the only video game my wife will play with me, and we always have a great time when we come back to it every few months. It’s a fun little game, especially two player, and has a ton of occasional replayability.

I’ve only touched the single player, and it’s surprisingly fun in short bursts. I plan on coming back to this again and again to gold medal each level and can definitely see myself getting the family involved in some baton-lobbing battles

Alpaca Ball: Allstars

Alpaca Ball: Allstars

Nice little indie gem with good core gameplay. It was designed with controller in mind. Playing with keyboard is possible but lacks precision in both movement and striking the ball. Has various arenas and ball types, but the single-player campaign is very short. I can only recommend to buy this one if you plan to play a lot of local co-op or during a deep sale. Online Multiplayer would be an awesome addition to the game that can justify the current full price.

I could not see where my first two hours of this game just vanished.

Super fun and super enjoyable.

Devs, if you are reading it, please consider an online mode with leadership table and other stuff. This would definitely motivate people to stick with the game and to look forward to any addons and different events.

FROG X BIRD

FROG X BIRD

Once upon a time a frog

Croaked away in Bingle Bog

Every night from dusk to dawn

He croaked awn and awn and awn

Other creatures loathed his voice,

But, alas, they had no choice,

And the crass cacophony

Blared out from the sumac tree

At whose foot the frog each night

Minstrelled on till morning night

Neither stones nor prayers nor sticks.

Insults or complaints or bricks

Stilled the frogs determination

To display his heart’s elation.

But one night a nightingale

In the moonlight cold and pale

This game is EPIC fun. Brings back the old Joust days with a modern twist. I used this as a party game and we ended up playing for hours. Get 4 controllers and challenge your friends.

the basketball mode is incredible. Get the ball through the rings, so simple yet so challenging when youre friends are trying to hijack you.

I would highly recommend this to anyone interested in local gameplay and connecting with friends.

Capture the Flag 1

Capture the Flag 1

Have you ever played capture the flag in real life? If you have, then you’ve played our Capture the Flag game before! If not, read the rules below.

How To Play:

The goal of the game is for each team to grab the other team’s flag and run it back to their own flag to score a capture. If members of the other team enter your team’s zone, you can send them to “jail” by tagging them. Players can be freed from jail when a teammate touches one of the “jail release boxes,” placed inside enemy lines. First team to capture 5 flags, or have the most flags captured when the time runs out, are the match winners!

TL;DR: If you’re expecting the same gameplay fluidity as Mario Strikers then sadly the game isn’t there yet. A few minor but very important gameplay issues have to be ironed out before that happens. But that really is it and despite that, if you have friends to play with the game is still a ton of fun.

The game feel and pace mimics that of Mario Strikers very heavily while at the sametime delivering on its own twists like:

  • Hypercurve - Being able to control the balls trajectory once you throw it to a certain extent

For a game that flew under my radar for about a month…. a ton of fun.

I mean, big huge heaping pile of fun.

I mean really spectacular, the sort that will make you shout when you score.

HOW IT PLAYS

It’s a 2v2 exercise - players can be human or AI, in whatever combo. (some mode limits do apply)

The object of the game is to achieve the highest score.

Fundamentally, the game plays a lot like speedball - you grab the ball, run it, pass it back and forth, and shoot it into the opponent’s goal/net; the opponents try to stop you, recapture the ball, do the same in your net; result is constant scramble.

Nidhogg 2

Nidhogg 2

When I first fought my way to the Nidhogg, I was in utter amazement. Two people fencing with each other in a realm of nothing but possibility with crisp, definitive animation and the most simplistic looking characters one could ever have built, one yellow, one orange. The only thing the game was missing was an effective and useful matchmaking system with proper netcode. Yeah, playing online with your friends was damn near impossible, but, for local play, Nidhogg is king.

Nidhogg was simple, if you start on the left, move all the way to the right through multiple screens while fending off attacks from the man on the right, or, if you’re on the right, move all the way to the left through multiple screens while fending off attacks from the man on the left. It’s tug of war with swords, and you have to score a kill to advance through screens. SUPER basic, but very fun.

THIS IS NOT MEANT TO BE NIDHOGG 1!!!!!!!

Just had to get that out there because many people seem to be confused by this.

I LOVE the original Nidhogg, it was and still is a great game, but content-wise, it was lacking. But the gameplay more than made up for it.

Originally, I saw the “awful” graphics for Nidhogg 2 and I told my self that I would never buy it because he completely ruined the appeal for the first game. But it grew on me. Now I have come to love them because it compliments the hilarity of the game.
