Madden NFL 22

Madden NFL 22

Do you like NFL Football? This game is for you. The blown calls by refs, the absence of gritty plays, the suspicion that it is all rigged. This game has it all. What’s that? Derrick Henry’s knee was down 10 yards ago and remained down but somehow the game doesn’t recognize it? BOOM WE CALL THAT A FEATURE HERE. Oh you don’t like that the guy you’re playing only runs exploited quick slants every down and spends all but 5 seconds of the play clock doing fake audibles? SORRY I GUESS YOU HATE REAL FOOTBALL. Oh you like the Chicago Bears and are excited about the new rookie QB (IDK HIS NAME AND NEITHER DOES MADDEN)? THAT’S COOL HERE IS A RANDOM COMMENT ABOUT THE 4TH STRING WR BEING AN OLYMPIC ATHLETE THAT’S THE ONLY RESEARCH WE DID FOR THAT TEAM. If all this isn’t enough to perk up your pricker then maybe try the uninspiring original soundtrack for the game! GONE IS GREENDAY, CHEVELLE, ANY GOOD ROCK OR CERTIFIED GANGSTER BEATS. WE GOT SOFT, FORCED FOOTBALL RELATED ORIGINAL BEATS. WE DON’T EVEN HAVE SAM SPENCE TRACKS.

I enjoy Madden, I play the franchise mode specifically a lot. That being said after 20+ hours I’ve yet to be capable of playing more then one game at a time before the game freezes indefinitely, either as a head coach or a player. The only issue I’ve come across is the game freezing on me. Whether it be after choosing the first play of the game, while i’m loading into the game, setting up my weekly game plan or just navigating the menu. I wouldn’t recommend this game to anyone trying to maintain sanity until a solution to my predicament and to the other disabling issues other customers are facing is presented and put in place.

ClusterPuck 99

ClusterPuck 99

Note: This is my first review and I purchased Clusterpuck 99 for (ironically enough) $0.99.

Clusterpuck 99 has a lot of elements that make it an ideal game to pick up and play if you regularly play video games with people on your couch. It boasts the rare ability to have 8 players play at once (if you have the controllers and USB ports to pull it off, mind you), and what it lacks in graphics, a sluggish pace, and the glaring error of no online multiplayer it tries to makes up for with its simple and engaging concept and gameplay. This simple game (with its ~4 controls) regularly creates the memorable moments that most people look for in local multiplayer games. You know, the ones where people are laughing, yelling, or high-fiving because of momentary displays of skill, chaos, or brilliance.

I wholeheartedly recommend buying ClusterPuck ‘99. My friends and I went out to buy Cards Against Humanity, but ended up coming home with a Steam giftcard to but Crawl with. We had another $10 leftover, so we looked up “great steam multiplayer games”, or something along those lines—and came across this game. We watched the first trailer (not the live-action one) and it peaked our interest. Then we watched the live-action trailer. We were hooked. We experienced some issues downloading it because Steam was experiencing “heavy load” at the time, seeing as it was Memorial Day. It was well worth the wait. ClusterPuck ‘99 is one of the best games I have played in my life. I would be willing to give PHL Collective the funds to make as much DLC or ClusterPuck ‘00 if they wanted (if I had the money, but I’d be willing to work for it). These devs are awesome and so is their game. I can’t recommend this enough. Just make sure you have enough controllers, because everyone’s gonna wanna play.

actually really fun. the first person really suprised me i wasnt expecting it to be so nice. i think vert needs alot of work but the game is pretty fun.

8/10 needs more work and tricks but still very fun and worth the money

If I am going to give an honest review of the game.

I would have to say that the physics for transition and everything else, isn’t as good as another game called “SCOOT”. The game feels very slow and doesn’t have game audio. The animations itself don’t have a good feeling to them and there is no mechanic to help with the landing after flipping.

I would give this game a 4/5 as it isn’t as realistic compared to SCOOT

BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle

BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle

If you want to get into fighting games, BBTAG is a good game to start with, combos aren’t too hard and not too many system mechanics to remember. As my first real fighting game experience I’ll vouch for this aspect until I die.

The fact most characters are viable and useful and of course from the 4(soon to be 5) franchises who bring all their personalities and simplified play styles make for a very addicting, energized and fast paced fighter.

My favourite aspect is the fact that if you work on a team enough, you can make any team work.

BBxTagBattle is one of the best Anime Fighters for Fighting Game Newcomers

Overall, if you aren’t put off by the anime-aesthetic and you aren’t looking for the “hardcore experience” of Guilty Gear or og Blazblue, but you still want a game that is highly competitive and challenging, then this is one of the best games to pick up.

The biggest downside is the subpar PC port that Arcsys refuses to fix. The biggest upside is the very entartaining gameplay.

cons:

  • Doesn’t have thousands of players like DBFZ, MK11, T7 or SFV

CHAOS CODE -NEW SIGN OF CATASTROPHE-

CHAOS CODE -NEW SIGN OF CATASTROPHE-

This is honestly one of my favorite fighting games. If there’s any game I’d say it’s similar to, probably KOF or other SNK games, but it has a lot that makes it different obviously. It has great system and character balance with no one mechanic seeming overwhelming, and each character has their fair share of pros and cons that they have to work around with all of them still being on an even playing field, and especially with the extra selectable moves, this game properly avoids falling into the problem of some match ups feeling WAY too one sided, with every character having a good amount of variety to their move set without everyone being too similar. Fun character designs with cthulhu magical girls, muscly grappler chefs, edgelords and of course, my big boy Ray. There’s so much freedom to every character with combos and tech, especially with the extra selectable specials and supers. I spend many hours in training mode trying to find new tech. Matches can vary a lot in how they play out based on what hits you land, so there’s room for you to end a match in two combos (or even one in rare situations), but other matches will carry on much longer if you don’t get your harder to land combo starters and counter hits or manage your resources towards big damage, and some characters often rely on meter to help them in neutral play and set ups. I really like that there’s room for those kind of big combos to happen while also having it be very nuanced in how it’s approached so that you don’t just do the same stuff each match. Neutral plays just as big a role as learning big combos. Some characters can annihilate you through solid neutral alone if you can’t adapt, so you gotta be strong on multiple fronts. There’s many strong offensive and defensive mechanics with neither being overwhelming. No comeback mechanics or combo breakers (I personally hate that stuff). Meter is handled super well in terms of how much importance it holds and how each character interacts with it in their own way. Adds a nice bit of weight to resource management while still not being the only thing that determines who wins. I’m just kinda gushing, but god I love this game. A bit of a smaller player base, but we’re still here and we’re growing over time. Especially on discord. If you want to play this game, join Tenryo’s discord server and there’s plenty of people there to answer your questions and play you in matches, including myself. So yeah. Big glowing recommendation for this game.

Depends on 3rd party software to run. This would qualify it for no reccomendation already but when the game is working, it’s mediocre at best. The translation was just ripped from the Hong Kong localization (so expect engrish text wherever humanly applicable) The online is a wasteland at this point, so don’t bother if you’re in it for that. The singleplayer is pretty mediocre, and the arcade / story mode is brought down not only by the aformentioned engrish, but also some embarrassing endings. You see that 5th picture in the gallary? Imagine that but for every female character, being explained away by something very along the lines of “oh, well I guess the battle is over now, ho hum what should I do now? Disrobing sounds like a good idea–”. I’ll add that even for a japanese fighting games, most of the female character designs are pretty shameless in their obvious intent (my personal favorite is either the essential equivelent of the daughter of c’thulu having a permanant wedgie or the cyborg ninja having her nipples protrude through metal armor). The customization options are kind of cool on the surface, but you have to unlock colors, and you’re only allowed a certain number of them. You’re better off referring to Blazblue Central Fiction’s modding community if you have a hard on for that sort of thing. The customization for the fights are a pretty okay idea, but the execution is underwhelming, and not as well balanced as one would hope. As for character balance, it’s not the absolute worst, but if there were to be an online scene, you’d probably come to expect the three characters with easy to access “technically not touch of deaths, but may as well be since they also corner carry and end with hard knockdown into 50/50”. It’s alright with friends, but frankly there are just other fighting games which do what this game does but cheaper and / or better.

The cream of the crop for racing games and the best (once again) in the F1 series. After my glowing review of 20 i actually lost interest pretty quickly so i’ve held off reviewing this. After 70 odd hours this is by far my go to game whenever i fancy some action, the new story mode “Braking Point” is great, though i don’t think it’s one you can replay more than once or twice.

My Team has taken yet another huge step and is starting to slowly feel more and more like a true authentic management style mode but there is still a way to go. Saying that what we currently have is absolutely fantastic.
