Demonic Blade
I thought it will be a regular story, but it was so much better than expected. The gameplay is negligible -from what i’ve seen, the decisions doesn’t affect the ending in this one-, and it limits to tell the story and branch just some dialogue by the choices you make. Not a revolutionary storytelling, but the characters were memorable for the duration of the game, and for the price, it was a good shot for me.
Recommended for anyone who is curious about it, and who wants a small and self-contained story. Not a game changer, but a good one, at least for any sensible soul.

Fears to Fathom - Home Alone
Very nice concept for horror game, I don’t usually like games with jump scares because in my opinion, jumpscares are lazy way to make the game scary, I enjoy terrifying and creepy atmosphere, but with this game, the jumpscares are fine, they are not forced like in other horror games as being part of the storyline, you can play the game without experiencing these jump scares and that is what I really like, however if you encounter any of these jumpscares, they are really well made and will spook you the first time encountering them. The atmosphere is really well nailed as well, I also enjoy the VHS tape feeling of the “screen”, this is someones story and this VHS tape feel reminds me of it. I’m terrible at describing things but what I can say very well, I am more than enjoying this game and looking forward of playing through the next and other future episodes!

Here’s The Thing:
You are Miles Tell-all, a 14-year old who decided to make a game about a terrifying encounter while being Home Alone instead of posting on Reddit like a normal adolescent or human being! Starts off normal enough, you get to kick back and relax- you see a neighbor playing “bark louder” with his dog, no alarms there!! But the true fear comes after… HOMEWORK. Can you find the answers and live to share your story… even though you were already doing it~

Higurashi When They Cry Hou - Ch.1 Onikakushi
First, a brief note to the uninitiated:
This is not a pleasant story, whatever the screenshots may have led you to believe. Beneath the veneer of a cheesy, run-of-the-mill school-comedy lies a cruel world of madness, terror, and violence. Major characters die routinely; sometimes on-screen, sometimes off, but never in a peaceful manner. Nonetheless, it is a highly compelling experience, and very rewarding if you can endure to the end of the series. If this intrigues you, feel free to read on, but those looking for nothing more than a stereotypical anime-harem-style rom-com would do well to look elsewhere. Higurashi may resemble that on a superficial level, but this is a series that delights in letting the reader think they know what is going on, even as it brings the façade crumbling down around them.

TLDR: The thumb is pointing up. That means good.

The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope
“Who put Bella in the Wych Elm?”
~The unknown individual
To be honest, I didn’t really plan to write this review. I mean… what is there to say? It’s the second game in Supermassive’s horror anthology (a series of short spooky stories told in “choose your own adventure” way with some QTE elements) and I already wrote detailed review of Man of Medan (which was the first one), so, like I said, what else is there to say? Surprisingly, it turned out that, even though the core mechanics here is almost identical to what we’ve seen in Man of Medan, the actual storytelling, the structure of the game is pretty different and it does make it to feel… well… different. So… here goes.

“Little Hope” is one of the few cinematic, story driven games that are better played with a friend than alone and this is why I bought it. Unfortunately Supermassive Games let us down once more. We tried it a dozen of times, but just like their previous title the online coop is full of glitches, infinite loading screens and corrupted save files that didn’t let us finish the game. One year later they don’t even bother solving the problems and patching the game. Two years later they haven’t patched “Man of Medan” either. The single player is decent but nothing special. Cool story and atmosphere but definitely a step backward compared to “Man of Medan” as of the gameplay, decisions making and sceneries design. You can try couch coop though.

Trap welcome to Beryl Part 1
Dear Developer,
I have played Parts 1-3. All I have to say is this: hurry up. But don’t hurry, because I want Part 4 to be as good as the rest. But still, you know, hurry up.
Guys, this is a great little gem. Yes, the first part is literally a half hour and it’s free. Part 2+3 bundled together are 1.99 AND IT’S WORTH IT. If you are a lover of horror, we need to support this developer. Imagine the film 1408 mixed with elements of Silent Hill and then add tropes of all the good horror movies worth mentioning thrown in.

Every so often a game just hits that spot. Mine is deformed and nestled in an inoperable area so that’s a tall order, but TRAP manages it and is very much worth your time.
You play as a generic dude traveling to one of those European cities whose major industry is providing spooky shadows and a skiiing experience without the benefit of modern medical care. Your brother is missing and he picked an ideal location to disappear: a town with an impossibly evil-looking hotel at the center of multiple disappearances that somehow still baffles what passes for the local authorities. I should mention right now part 1 is free and lasts about 20 minutes. Just buy the DLC. Two bucks for a four-hour game with some great puzzles and scares is an excellent investment.
