Project Chemistry

Project Chemistry

I’d really like to give this a positive review, but this game still needs work.

If you already have some background in physical sciences or engineering, navigating the campaign is manageable, if frustrating, exercise in trawling wikipedia and online chemical equation calculators. However, this doesn’t help someone who doesn’t have that background. I would expect more “education” given the “educational” genre of this game.

Several reaction pathways that exist in real life and presumably would complete a campaign task, but the game stubbornly refuses to provide the expected reaction as an option. For example, I’m currently stuck on the “electroplating” task for creating CrCl3 from Cr2S3. According to to an online equation balancer, either 6 KCl or HCl should be able to complete this reaction, but no dice. The hint in this case doesn’t help on this step either. I’m unable to determine if I’m not finding the true reaction after several googling attempts, or if this is a bug/oversight by the developers. Chemistry, as with many fields, often provides multiple pathways to a desired end, and I think this game should reflect that.

Game is good and maybe even very good for early access game. Hopefully this message will reach devs so there is my opinion written 25th Dec 2020:

  • game looks like it was designed ‘mobile first’ which makes rather poor experience for PC with average 34" screen

  • interface is terrible (wsad for movement in 3D environment with dull, gray background without reference XYZ axes, compounds are unmovable, no way to rearrange compounds but only to wipe all the table altogether)

  • an overlay menu to pick compound breaks user connection with the ‘table’ not mentioning the ‘quest’

Diesel Brothers: Truck Building Simulator

Diesel Brothers: Truck Building Simulator

My first time installing a lift kit and I don’t have a clue where anything goes. Not a clue as to why I can’t something. I figured it out eventually, and it was a loose bolt on the frame preventing me from installing the leaf spring mounts.

Going from delivery area to work area is annoying, the workspace is a hangar. Spring compressor, tyre machine (which auto sets the bead) and work bench are all too far away.

The currency for some reason has the symbol at the end, there should be an option for English (on the left), or ROW, for those who are used to the symbol at the end.

I must say, the game is amazing! There is definitely some things that need to be fixed. Those things will be in this review to be fixed. There is some things I would like to see added too.

Need to be Fixed:

1. tools bouncing: When I drop things, they bounce a lot. For example, the painting tool. When I drop it onto the floor to get another part to paint, the tool jumps around and I almost lose it.

2. Engine Hoist: The hoist works well, but when you put an engine on it, you can’t get the engine off unless you put it in a vehicle. I sold the truck I had it in, and now it is stuck on the hoist. I cannot use the hoist anymore on this specific account due to this.

Scrapping Simulator

Scrapping Simulator

This game is in early access so, you unlock all the available features quickly. As you may have guessed, this game is about disassembling eWaste for scrap materials. You can then sell the scrap directly or spend the time to melt them down to ingots for a bigger profit. Eventually, the world will be much more open and new features are coming.

I’ve logged a lot of extra hours figuring out many of the ins and outs of different processes. I enjoy the “grindy” aspects of this game and look forward to how they’ll adapt to user input.
