I like the game, I am having fun playing it. I think it has one main problem, the production process could be better. Once you choose a city for production you no longer know how many production points are available. It would be nice to have production points shown so you can figure out how many of a particular item can be produced and also a max button would be good, just press max for an item and the max amount will be set to production of that city. And also since the last update the game is hard to start, have to press start three or four times before it will load. Get these fixed and I’m sure I will give it a thumbs up!

So let’s start off by saying that yes. I do play this game a lot. I’ve played it quite a bit in fact. But can I recommend it? Ehhhhh…. no.

See, the developers have made a great system for this sort of game. I wish more games would use it. It’s a bit unrealistic, but that’s honestly okay, it plays well with it. I have to give them props for that.

However.

What I can’t give them props for is quality assurance, general professionalism(There was a major content delay because they forgot to fork their build. FORGOT. And overwrote their work), and what appears to be a roadmap designed for maximizing profit, rather than fixing the countless issues that still persist with the game.

I really, really, really like the game. BUT, I just wanna take a little walk through and talk about what’s going on in the game.

They’re doing good work, making updates regularly and keeping people up to date with what’s happening in the development cycle. The thing that really sets me off with the current game is that they’re already trying to push DLC. I understand that they want to make money, but at the same time the base game needs to be in a more acceptable state before they should try to push for DLC’s. There are a lot of issues within the base game that need to be addressed such as, Performance within the garage itself can get pretty rough, especially if you have multiple project vehicles in at the same time(Keep in mind my computer isn’t a slouch by any means, AMD 5800x processor, 16gigs of Crucial Ballistix’s 3600Mhz ram, and an rtx2060, granted not the highest end pc in the world.), the menus are pretty clunky and need to be reworked into a more user friendly state. Tank extractions can be frustrating between not being able to find the vehicle through the basic means the game starts you off with and occasionally you aren’t able to extract the vehicle at all. The maintenance system has gotten better, but it needs a lot of work, the system needs to be streamlined and ease of access while putting tanks together needs to be more comfortable to work with instead of awkwardly clicking around on the screen trying to access certain parts. Some tank models being reworked have been worked on for what feels like months without any update to them in the live version of the game, but they’re working on new models instead.

Aircraft Carrier Survival

Aircraft Carrier Survival

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1450300/Battleships_Command_of_the_Sea/

Take control of the aircraft carrier, its crew, officers and planes during WW2. Give an example of military prowess by choosing the right equipment, crew, and escort for the mission. Remember that your success will depend greatly on your flexibility in managing the available fleet resources.

Assign a crew and choose what your officers should focus on. Your ship has many stations to man, and proper management will be the key to executing your plan, whether by taking on an enemy directly, sneaking past them, or taking an alternative route to completely avoid contact.

Your damage control teams can handle fire outbreaks, torpedo strikes, hull flooding, enemy bombardment, airstrikes, and suicide attacks from enemy planes, but not all of them at once. Assess which threats need to be dealt with first in order to survive.

Use maneuvers, aircraft, anti-aircraft turrets, and whatever else you can to survive the enemy attack. Make sure that any enemy who dares to attack you will end up in the depths of the Pacific.

Will you risk all lives on the vessel to save the one in need? Do you have what it takes to make a decision on the spot? No matter what, some sacrifices will be necessary and the only source of redemption is victory.

Use intel collected during recon missions to prepare pilots and aircraft for large operations. Target enemy land bases and even their entire fleets. Identify opponents before choosing attack directions and deciding the sequence of targets and maneuvers.

Making History: The Second World War

Making History: The Second World War

This game was utterly made for me! World domination, Historical factuality and geographical accurracy. If you love to submerse yourself into every detail of real life government rule, diplomacy and battle mechanics, you’ll love this game. You can play ANY nation and choose your own path. Personally I chose Germany and decided I could do Adolf Hitlers job better. I established a bridgehead in south America, handled diplomacy to build up stockpiles, military power and influence along with a strong alliance of diverse governments. I used British/French/American imperialism against them, learned from the best, and conqoured America, then England, establishing indipendant Scotland and Ireland, split america in two, the way it should be, with a north and south set of countries- USA & CSA, gave back the land stolen from Mexico in the west and gave indipendance to all British colonies throughout the world. They condone their imperialist ambitions with the justification of bringing civilization and technologies & medicines to the corners of the world at the end of a sword, end of a cannon or beneath bombs, afterwards preaching the gospel of each country’s own “self-determination” and prevented any other world power, like Germany, from following their example. Germany’s colonies and territories were stolen after WW1 and divided up among the ally’s that won and created indipendent nations like Poland and Isriel, Iraq and Syria, blah and Blahblah. Well, I took back what I could so far and theres just one more imperial Giant to slay in France. Afterwards I’ll slaughter the big red teddy bear that not only doesn’t deserve credit for beating the “Invaders” out of the motherland but do not have what it takes to win against a Reich with no Gigantic threesome of super powers on her back and supplying mother Russia whilst also replacing the detroyed army and air force the Germans had already destroyed and beaten. With no America pruduction power, French back stabbing vicci, British endless pool of commonwealth cannon fodder, and weak Italy, My Reich WIL last a thousand years. This could not be possible without this game. Real life screwed the Reich, Making History: The Second World War will bring it back so right can be made right. The battles are passive in content but the battles still need lots of thought and strategic preparedness. Therefore I give this game a 9./10. I actually requested a refund on TGW because the battles were passive, but I had played too many hours and was refused a refund, I cannot tell you how glad I am that I was refused, I would have never experienced the fun I am getting now if I had been refunded!!!!

This game steps in and takes the place of the prior entries in the Making History franchise and adds a LOT more. Of the many hours I played in previous installments there were always changes or things I wished were addressed that never were. This game addresses many of those “wishes” without losing the fun and appeal of the originals. It is not “too hard” to pick up, and the addition of the encyclopedia function helps clarify some of the elements we can find confusing. Further, the tech support/customer service for this game is excellent. It is still being adjusted and tweaked based on the game community’s feedback. I have always receives a detailed response for any inquery or tech issue. Truly excellent people that show they care.

It has a lot of promise.

I talked to the developer in the forums, and they’re actively working on making improvements according to their posts albeit I don’t know how steady they are or how consistent they are at actually updating the game and correcting underlying flaws, of which there are many.

It’s a lot like Factorio, but if it was simplified, put into a Visual Novel game that has surprisingly good writing, and given a vaguely predictable “economy” built around the war for shits and giggles.
