Capitalism 2

Capitalism 2

Pretty fun to master, but somewhat tedious once you’ve mastered it. This game gives you a few million dollars and 1 to 4 cities and tells you to go out and become a billionaire. You can build department stores to import better goods, driving out local business and taking all the profit for yourself. You can research powerful CPUs and conquer the computer industry. You can even take out a gigantic loan to buy up a gold deposit, then use it to build jewellery and fleece every happy couple out of a few grand in exchange for rings. There’s a lot of fun in managing all the aspects of making goods and selling them for profit, whether it be researching or training in order to get higher quality goods, or spending massively on advertisements so your low quality goods get bought anyway. But for all that the game gets a bit tedious towards the end and I’d like to note some things that you really should be aware of before you buy.

It’s bit old simulation game armed with realistic economy structure and standard of early 2000.

Like every simulation games “Cap 2” is easy to learn, but harder to master.

You can play in reduced retro resoltuion in 4:3 aspect ratio.

You can begin as retailer, farmer, mine operator, factory manager, researcher, day trader, etc. you will eventually combine everything you can to become most successful and richest character in your sandbox game.

There are various product categories you can grow, process, produce or mine, e.g. Leather Jacket requires a factory( farm(Cotton - Textil), farm(Leather)). Every product have their necessity (food high, luxury low) so producing and selling foods in reasonable price is one of survival idea in the beginning of harder difficulty.

05/26/2018: I could say I’m surprised by the negative reviews, but since it’s Steam, I’m saddly not. Let me start by saying I have as yet to experience any of the “game breaking” bugs in this “unplayable game” some other people have and I’ve got a lot more hours in than most of the negative reviewers. I suppose it’s possible I’m expectionally lucky and got the one magical copy of the game that was bug free. More likely - based on having read the complaints in the forum - those suffering major issues are due to corrupted files or compatability issues. Are their glitches? Yes, but the one’s I"ve experienced are, frankly, minor and superficial things. Stuff like doors and traps facing the wrong way when placed. In my personal experience they still work and autocorrrected themselves after the first time the’re used.

The game is good and all. Its idea and such.

Here’s the thing. It says as a released version. Unfortunately, it isn’t. It’s very much in early access.. update is slow, very slow. Devs don’t listen to its playerbase.

I don’t think it’s a bug, coz a bug in a code works “somewhat”. In this game functions don’t really work! Their way of thinking is like this. “Meh, this’ll do” or somewhere along the line.

In example..

1.Battery’s don’t work, it doesn’t really store electricity as intended.

2.Hidden wall/door(a door only for ur minions.), Heroes and victims walk on them like normal doors regardless if scared or not.

Dungeons 3

Dungeons 3

There are things I like and things I don’t like in this game. I have gotten and completed all the DLCs. I have also completed Dungeons 2.

I start from the things I didn’t like.

The trailer shows a nice movie - that is just an ad in the store. There are no such animations in the game. After some missions(not all) you are shown a partially animated 2d cartoon. No 3d animations like in the trailer, nothing like that in the game.

Dungeons… There were dungeons in Dungeons 2, but in Dungeons 3 there is just 1 dungeon in each of the missions. It was fun to visit and explore dungeons other than your own in Dungeons 2, nothing like that here. There are no other dungeons.

Disclaimer: I have not played any of the earlier installments in the series, nor have I played any other dungeon sim games, so I have nothing to compare this game to.

General

In this game, you build a dungeon, create an army of evil and invade the aboveground world, called Overworld, to defeat heroes and complete various objectives, while at the same time defending your dungeon from the heroes' raids. The game has single player, co-op, and multiplayer mods, but I have only tried out the single player campaign.

My secret word is ‘Blessing’.

I knew to expect quality and a fun time. This surpassed expectations! It got me really thinking about what I know in terms of army logistics and self-sufficiency. I know, that may seem redundant these days but, in my humble opinion, striving for self-sufficiency and knowing how to work together as a group is always good idea. Growing food, purifying water, basic medicine and basic repairs on everyday objects, all that can be very useful. I still need to know more but that only means I’m excited to replay this in a few years and see how my ideas and capabilities have grown!

My Secret Word: Bard

My apparent skill as an adviser: Magnificent

Overall, I found this to be a very intriguing game. Like all other games by this developer I found myself having to face very difficult ethical questions. However, unlike the others there was also a lot of questions regarding leadership and tactics (personal interests of mine). Overall, I loved the opportunity the story provided me and the story itself. As for the main character, I find him to be painfully pragmatic somewhat in contrast to my values. However, not as much as I would like to admit. Aside from his quick leaps to pyromania I do not think Magnus is an entirely evil person. Perhaps this is due to my own propensity for witticism that endears him to me. In addition, I am sure he is smart enough to recognize benevolent leadership is better for the leader and their people as well. I like to think of it as enlightened self interest that benefits others. Along with the previously mentioned shared traits Magnus and I both have a nigh obsessive love of magic. Regarding the choice of kingdom, I find myself conflicted. I value loyalty above all else, yet know too little of this magical staff to be certain of the value. Gun to my head, I say stay with the current king. Given how well I turned things around I see no reason that the king and the Magnus can’t barter for the staff from a position of increased strength.

I would like to start off by saying this game is very addicting at the same time it’s aslso game breaking, we desperatly need some hotfixes and alot of major udates. i understand that it’s early access and there’s gonna be bugs but there’s no excuse for not having hotfixes right away so we can at least keep playing without all these game screen freezings. All i ask from the dev team is please don’t give up on this game cause it’s the first game i ever played that got me instantly hooked, but now with the constant screen freezing to the point i have to manually shut down the game and now i refuse to play the game until the game screen freezing gets fixed.

The first word that comes to mind when considering the current state of the game is “Rough”. Exceedingly rough.

The map is a haphazard tangled array of zones that make no sense. There is nothing about the map that makes it feel like you’re in an actual place, instead there’s just a random array of facilities and junk heaps (many many junk heaps) with decoration decisions that are clearly inspired by the philosophy"what can we put here to have variety" rather than “what can we do here that makes sense?” For example, you’ll have a chain link fence start out one panel high, then it’ll jump to two on the next panel, down to one again, get metal cladding and be three sections tall on the next, etc. Nobody builds a fence like that.

Prison Tycoon: Under New Management

Prison Tycoon: Under New Management

Good thinks first:

  • 2 point hospital style is great for this, UI and control is great

  • Actually difficult eco, it is not easy to balance thinks…

Thinks which must be updated:

  • Nobody cares about building cells. Allow copy/paste of buildings (just like 2PH have room classes across games. This is must have). To build one, two is fine, to build 40 is just a waste of time.

  • Cleaning of the rooms is broken. Sometimes items in the room cannot be cleaned for what ever reason (fckng toilet seat cannot be cleaned) and the maintenance guy looses all his stamina on one item. Then he goes to the rest and another one comes in and spend his stamina on the same item. I have to manually move the item - then it is fine. This could be “fixed” using magic trick - maintenance cleans the room as a whole, not per item.

I love these kind of games but there could be improvements such as:

1. It would be good to have workshops that prisoners can learn new skills that will help them get a job after they leave prison. There are therapies available that treat their disorders but Workshops are different and is there so they can learn new things in order to adjust to the society once they go back. Such as cooking classes, learning a new musical instrument, learning foundations of business and finance 101.

Then you will be able to hire professional chefs, musicians, lecturers to come and teach.
