Honestly, the thought process for the game is there but the execution was horrible.

It is also not optimized for widescreen, text, sliders, and buttons will be missing and unavailable.

This is a day 1 review, and the question I am answering is on day 1, in it’s current state, do I recommend purchasing this game? Since this game is day 1, in early access, I will come back in a later time to review it again. This review is not final.

Pro’s:

An interesting premise

I really can’t think of much else

Cons:

No sound, no music. Just absolute silence.

Visuals are just a map and some stock pictures. If you are expecting more, ou won’t find it here.

I can’t even see where the fun will be at. (Will discuss further down below)

You can play as long as you do not leave the game … because it does not save the game and generates a bug. It is a game that takes time to interact with it. It would be nice if he rotates in the background to be able to do other things while the game runs, which is not the case because the game stops if it is not in it. I hope the improvements come fast, it seemed relaxing. LOL

Eu espero que as melhorias venhão rápido, pareceu-me relaxante. rsrsrsrs

Edit to my original review….

This game has not been patched or updated. It is buggy at best but more likely broken. If you load a save and click on construction you get a screen in Russian and cant click back. No point in contacting developer as there are no updates. Game is dead, waste of time DO NOT BUY!!!!!!

Original Review (ignore)

Recommending this on a very thin line, with faith in the devs doing the idea justice. This is my opinion based on the current state of the game and it will hopefully change.

If you need to speed up your carpal tunnels inflamation, this game is your best choice. Buying 300 cows = clicking 300times (+), no +5 , +10, mark with shift etc… If you want to inseminate the 300 cows you have to click 300times, but also need to scroll in slowly reacting list. The worst GUI execution is dragging this game completely down. And with the real economic data, well I am not really sure. Its better to buy the cows and sell them when they stop milking and buy new ones, than to inseminate them. Does not sound reallistic to me.

It’s really, really hard for me to give this game a review. First of all: It’s a very small game, don’t expect anything big. It’s more of a clicker game. You cannot be very active in terms of building visible new buidlings. You can upgrade buildings, but just via text.

The whole game takes place on two screens: The farm screen and the stable screen. There is no tutorial or anything like this, nothing is getting explained, yet the handling is pretty simple and I guess it’s part of the game to explore the few mechanics by yourself. You start off pretty empty with 50k bucks and no cows at all. First step is obviously buying some cows and sell the milk. The nice thing is, the whole game was built around real data from German farmers. The price you get for your milk changes every day and is NEVER really high.

Game Corp DX

Game Corp DX

Load of hours with fun for very cheap price.

Probably one of the best or maybe the best Economy-Management Game Dev Simulation ever so far. I used to play Game Dev Tycoon few months ago, it was the last good game dev simulation game.

After few months Game Corp DX came out. It was in early acces, I stayed away cuz of bugs and some negative reviews. Just added it to my wishlist and got it on my birthday as a gift. LOL, I am lucky cause this game is totally awesome.

There is three difficulty mode ; Hard, Normal and Easy. Easy is really easy. You can learn the game basics as like as it’s a tutorial. Then you can play normal or hard without getting bored easily.

I have a fondness for game dev sims, but I didn’t have high expectations for Game Corp Dx. After all, how good could a $2.99 Early Access title be? When I started playing I was pleasantly surprised by it. Rather than a short simplistic game, there appears to be real depth to this title. There’s enough going on this game that I’ve decided to just write the bulk of this review in + and - list form.

Game Corp Dx features;

  • Simple and intuitive graphical interface. There aren’t dozens of menus to navigate here, and it’s pretty easy to figure out how to use the ones that are.

Airline Tycoon Deluxe

Airline Tycoon Deluxe

Airline Tycoon … my favorite PC game of all time and THE game of my childhood!

I first got my hands on this game at the age of two in 2000.

Before Steam, I’ve spent at least over 4000 hours with Airline Tycoon for 20 years.

An economic simulation that is structured similarly to MadTV, only that it is not about TV channels, but about managing an airline to a lively airport with many rooms, colorful funny graphics, adventure-like elements and sensible management elements.

I’ve never seen a game with so much attention to detail again. It only starts with the original characters like the airport manager Dr. Uhrig, the main characters Tina Cortez, Siggi Sorglos, Igor Tuppolevsky and Mario Zucherro, or even the mechanic Jack from the workshop with the epic Super Saiyan like Son Goku (xD), or Rick from Rick’s Café.

I first played Airline Tycoon about 12 years ago. I was a little too young to understand how this game works, so I lost my interest. The old game is not working properly on Windows 10, which off course doesn’t surprise me as the original game is from 1998;). Anyway, as my greatest passion is aviation, I just had to buy the game again.

I can say it still is a fun game! However, you probaply won’t be playing it for very long. I now played this version for about 20 hours and I have done pretty much everything there is to do. So, just like 12 years ago, I lost my interest in it.

The 8 career campaigns teaches you how to play then there are 10 scenario , 10 challenges and sandbox mode, the game dose not provide you with popup tips you have to use your brain it is not hard to figure out the campaign is the tutorial, this is not a supper complex game have a little patience, i’m saying this because the achievement for completing the campaign says only 0.8% have this i don’t know how accurate it is. One level was annoying just because i had to wait for the worker to complete creating a new coin and it takes a while. I guess it takes about 5hr to complete the campaign i’m not sure tho i fell asleep at about 5:30am so my actual playtime is different from shown.

After several months of silence and no update to fix any bugs or issues, I am changing my recommendation. It seems to be dead.

This is a good game with GREAT potential! I liked playing it, and of course there were bugs and things that could be improved. One thing is a more realistic market in the exchange. It always seemed to me that the market was mostly stagnant with very little real price fluctuation. By that I mean that if you looked at the price over a year, it would be flat for every coin and token. It may fluctuate on a day to day basis, but no real growth. The other thing that could be improved is the token creation. In the game when you create a coin, it says you also create a blockchain, so why can’t you use your own for the creation of a token. I think it would be cool if you added the ability to add offices and more mining warehouses so you could also add a research tree. That would enable the ability to create hard forks, ability to implement cross platform support, add smart contracts, NFTs, etc. You could also add in researching the hosting of an exchange or NFT gallery. There is a lot that could be done on this front, and it could all affect different attributes of the coin and price, as well as the price of other coins potentially, if interoperability and forks are added. All of that having some sort of correlation with the price of your coin and token and how many other developers want to “support” your blockchain. Also, for some odd reason, any time I created a token, not matter what I did, I could only get tokens during my ICO to be between 30-50 and I couldn’t figure out why. I mostly stuck to creating coins because of this. Also, there needs to be somewhere that explains what different things do. For example, when you are creating a token, what are the differences between utility, security, payment, etc., and how do they affect the token? Speaking of that, when you do create a token, if you forgot which kind you chose, there’s no way of telling. It makes me think that maybe it doesn’t do anything at all. But, besides that, I never could get more than 30-50. One of my biggest irritations was that you weren’t actually managing a company. You didn’t name it or anything. There was no way to compare yourself with your competitors. There was a competitors section, but there was no info about you to compare to them there, and the information about them was very vague. It needs to be reworked entirely, along with some reworking of the economic system. It is very basic. It would be nice to have random events that affect the crypto market so there are real dips and surges. Also, it would be nice to actually benefit other operations when you invest. I would invest 10’s of millions, and it would say that their total investment would be a few mil. So there wouldn’t really be an affect on them. So I then have all these coins and it seems their companies have gone belly up or something because they never go to market. Those are just a few examples of how it is a basic economic system. Anyway, I really hope the developers keep working on this game and bring out some updated to address these things. It would make that mixed review rating look a little more positive. :) And why not take advantage of the crypto craze? lol

Cultures - 8th Wonder of the World

Cultures - 8th Wonder of the World

It’s still addictive as Northland; but it’s a step down. The UI is worse, you can’t “give extras to everyone” anymore; instead the game only lets you toggle a switch for giving equipment to new civilians. The weaksauce carrying/merchantry system is not improved one bit; workers lose their carriages the moment you right-click somewhere, there is no easy way to stop unload orders and you gotta micromanage all carrying processes etc. And that’s bad because this game has a lotta “carry goods” missions.

Update (original review removed, rewritten here): Would I love this game this much if it didn’t have reminiscent value to me? Probably not. Would I still, if made to play it, fall in love with the characters, be drawn into the simple yet intricate challenge of village growth and conquering objectives, and be awed at how a 2003 game looks and functions so well even today? Abso-viking-lutely.

These games are worth the dollars, but currently on sale, there has never been a better way to spend $1 in all of Steam, ever. Kick back and enjoy this beautiful world.

Evil Bank Manager

Evil Bank Manager

An interesting and novel idea ruined by a lack of execution. There is the base of a great game here, but as is I cannot recommend it and, given the chance again, would not buy it.

The issue with EBM is that, beyond the early game, the gameplay loop becomes insanely tedious.

In the early game, you are given a small amount of money and given the oppertunity to buy a “banking license” in a country from anywhere in 14th century Europe, North Africa, or Asia. You can invest in logging camps, real estate, farms, and luxuries like furs and gemstones and will receive their produce on the next turn. You can then sell the items, craft weapons to sell out of wood or iron, or hold onto them until the price is better. You can lend money, send out guards to retrieve loans that were not paid back, and use all the profits to buy more investments.

Evil Bank Manager is clearly an attempt to remove the sometimes mundane task of moving military units around the map from a grand strategy role-playing game. In that one aspect, they succeeded; in most other aspects, they fail.

[EDIT]

I’m retracting my con about the locks on the “exchange” page. They work with the “sell all” buttons but not the manual “sell” button.

[PROS]

A few.

  • The ocean water effect was an interesting optical illusion – a crazed glass image with a translucent background that slides with the continental map above a second image of blue clouds. This is a nifty trick that cuts down on draw calls. I didn’t even notice it until around hour twenty.
