Football School
This game is fun! Not to be taken too seriously but it still has all the attributes of running a football club from playing decisions like tactics and training plus all the background responsibilities including stadium, finance, marketing and general club development. I’m still learning how to develop team tactics as the game seems more like pinball rather than a regular game of football as there is no goalie and the ball does not go out of play! If anybody is looking for a serious football tactics game like Football Manager then forget it. But this game is still challenging and you do need to consider the decisions carefully in how you run the club. It is very easy to run out of money. For $S10, this is great value.

2 Hour Review:
I love this game. Its no FM20 but its $9 and the administration of a football team is made very fun here with really nice menus. I wish there was a reminder/calendar page or an inbox for notifications like scheduling friendlies and operations because I missed those a few times early on. Being a day behind on a 5 day operation to earn 2 house points puts you out of the storyline in the introduction phase. The gameplay engine for low level teams is crazy bad. I did play a friendly against a level 16 team as a level 2 team and the AI looked much better with accurate passes and shots, leading to a 11-0 a** kicking of my upstart football team. That gives me hope that the grind on training will make the gameplay more exciting as you watch your decisions to play out. I’ve yet to reach the 5v5 leagues and will update once I’ve reached more.

I own Club Manager 2015, which is an ancestor of this. It is really very good and I bought it for on sale for a pittance, something like $3. Nearly all of the gameplay is exactly the same so I’d check out the reviews there for in-depth discussion of those features. I wrote one that was very good. I was impressed.
Anyway, this game is 5 years newer, 3 releases later, and the price of a AAA management game. Yet it is almost entirely the same as CM2015 except:
A very simplistic 2d match display which just shows you the location of the ball.

Football, Tactics & Glory
If you’re a fan of football, you’ve probably played your fair share of the Football Manager series and FIFA. This game, FTG, is far superior to both of them. FTG is not a really a Management-simulator, but you do take on a managerial-like role in some aspects; signing/selling players, deciding whose contracts to renew, spending your money earned on upgrading the clubs stadium and facilities etc. But these things are quite straight forward. You’re free to focus on playing the matches themselves. You can quickly move on from on match to the next, which is what you will want to do.

I’ve been in love with football management sims since the days of One-Nil . That’s 1992, my friends.
I’ve never enjoyed one as much as this one.
This game is simple enough to play that you can jump right in and start playing. And if you want a casual experience, you can play this game like that. Don’t think too much about your decisions, just pick what feels right. You can do that and have fun.
Or, if you want a more analytical experience, you can take your time over each decision.
