Car Mechanic Simulator VR
Bought the game as soon as it came out. Was so buggy I couldn’t even play it. I waited a month or two hoping the devs would fix things. I was happy to see that they did in fact fix many of the bugs and were actively working to make the game more like what the players wanted. The players wanted something more realistic than the laser point and shoot method that they originally implemented. I continued to watch the game develop though I didn’t play much. So I was excited to see all the new changes since the last time I had played. I got in and ran through the in game vr setup. I immediately ran into my first problem. I opened the hood, after a little trial and error, and tried to bring up the pie menu… where in the flippin' hell is the pie menu? I pressed “A” on one controller and a tablet flies into my face. Annoyed I moved the tablet out of my way and pressed “A” on the other controller, which made me slam to the floor. Okay, okay, “A” equals crouch or shove the tablet against my corneas. I can live with that. I cycle through the rest of the buttons and stick presses only to find myself unable to bring up the pie menu that i remembered from the last time I played the game. Frustrated by this point, I decide I’m going to quit to the main menu and create a new profile so i can run through the tutorial. Surely that’ll show me how to easily bring up the pie menu. I start the tutorial and go through each station waiting for the very uninformative pop-up (shoved into my face at each station) to show me the secret way of summoning the magical pie menu. When I finally got to the pop-up with the pie menu, it showed that I just need to press and hodl (go doge) the trigger button to bring it up. Oh for Pete’s sake, that’s all I needed to do? I swear I did that, but maybe I didn’t hodl (go shiba) the trigger button down long enough. Must be it. I pulled the trigger and waited… and waited… and waited… four hours later… I decided it wasn’t that trigger must be the other one, right? So I pulled that trigger and waited… and waited… and waited… you get the idea… Didn’t work. I look at the table again. It clearly says to press and hold the highlighted button to bring up the pie menu. The trigger is highlighted, where in the flying flapjack is the pie menu? I gave up trying and quit the game. Came here to read the recent reviews to see if anyone else was having the same issue. Sure enough, there was a developer response telling some one to active that laser first (stick press) then point at a vehicle and hodl (go … crap it crashed) the trigger button to bring up the majestic pie menu that I’ve been desperately seeking. Now are these instruction correct? I don’t know, I have yet to return to the game in order to find out. If I do return one day, don’t hodl your breath (okay… okay.. I’m done) , I will try to come back to this review and update it since if you’re still reading at this point, I have you completely captivated and you must be hanging on my every word. But in all seriousness, why are you still here reading this? I’m sure you have better things to do. I know I do… not… fml

Update:
Had to write one more time.. they have added so much to this game that was not in the original and still surprise me with every new update. Simple things from basket carts to move parts around easier to more advanced VR features that would take to much time to add here. IF you have not or are on the fence the game to me is worth every penny and more..
Edit:
They have already added the system were you purchase new parts and imagen they are delivered to you and you can then manually put them on. They have somehow increased load times and so many other fixes. If you have not tried this game yet give it a go and remember everything people have asked for they are trying to do. Please if you have reviewed this game negatively give it another shot to me they have done more than asked for. I will be looking forward to anything these guys work on in the future.

On The Road - Truck Simulator
i would say yes and no for recommanding this game the game is oke for the most part but the thing they need to fix are the AI on highways for the most time the just stop driving for no reason and the steering with mouse, keybord, controler the steering is way to akward to use it is just to slow with steering that you can’t play the game without a steering wheel.
i like that you have thing that euro truck doesn’t have like box truck, semi and combination trucks and that you can get out of the truck.

Well I couldn’t wait for this game to be released today. But what a dissapointment. No wheel Support at all and i did manage badly to get my pc 360 controller to work but its still not good. I was not impressed with the graphics compared to Ets2 or other driving sims I have. For a game in “Advanced Stages” it’s very poor. Avoid for the time being untill they have got it fixed. Needs Wheel support and done to the standard of other good sims with ffb. I think Multi screen support would be nice too. I am a fan of Early Access but after playing with this for about 30 min i gave up as its not playable in its current state.

Open Wheel Manager
Came back to the game there hoping it would be better. Still same issues. Crashes randomly(can’t even finish 1 lap of a race), doesn’t give an error code or anything. Shame, great concept.
EDIT - Was crashing because of a mod I was using I think. I recommend the game, modding it is quite fun too

The game is still being developed but it is already entertaining. Using Motorsport Manager to make a direct comparison:
What OWM does better:
-
Engaged developer who is dedicated to improving core product as opposed to shelling out DLC and shitty mobile apps.
-
Open communication with community. It’s very easy to get in contact and very quick responses.
-
Mod support is being better prioritized and supported (tracks will be moddable).
What Motorsport Manager does better:
- Graphics and racing simulation model are superior

Trucking
Review update.
Looks like I didn’t waste my money. The game is developing and is slowly turning into something original. The last update (update 0.0.4.1) brought to the truck simulator … The economic system! No kidding, since 1998, for the first time I see the economic system in this kind of simulator. I remember how day and night I played in Hard Truck (Rig’n’Roll, King of the Road) and dreamed that in these games the world would be somehow more diverse. Do not get me wrong, for 1998 Hard Trusk was amazingly magnificent and for me it is an ageless classic. But years passed, and there was nothing new.

TL;DR: If you just want to goof around driving a truck, this is your title.
I got this title in a bundle for .27 USD. And for a port that wasn’t fully ported? Not bad. Full disclosure: I’m not hauling anything, just driving my truck down the highway, listening to the tires hum. Sometimes stopping to get gas, eat or sleep. Is it a broken title? I dunno, though I did manage to drive off the map.
I then drove my truck boat in the sea until I ended up free falling forever. It was kinda pretty. I then used teleport to go to Quebec and all was well. If you’re looking to just drive on roads, it’s great. Keep in mind it didn’t fully port so mouse not only looks around but is also used to reverse or hit the icons.

Farming Simulator 17
-
Lately I’ve been really keen on games that let you customize and open - world decisions. Games that you aren’t restricted to a set path. I bought FS17 on a whim when it was on sale and fell in love with it - to my own surprise.
-
I’ve always been a community organizer and so knew that this game is far better when played with other people. Sure I’m a nerd because I game so much, and play D&D, but it blew me away how much I enjoyed FS17. Not something I ever thought I’d like. I think what pulled me in is the fact that it isn’t scripted. There is no “What should i do next” hand holding. It’s an open-ended relaxing game where you get to drive big awesome machines. At my prime I was spending every evening playing FS17 when running the server for several hours. When the server was very popular I would easily spend 3-4 hours a night playing. Much longer on the weekends.

Not even sure where to start man. I got this game because I’m a sim player and the graphics looked nice, and it was on sale. I’m in LA, so the last thing going on around me is farming, unless you’re farming weed. This game, and it’s modders, BLEW MY MIND.
You do the first two tutorials to get the gist of the controls and the basics of farming. And it’s the basics, I’m 140+ hours in and all I’ve done is work the fields on the first map. No animals, I cut down a half dozen trees by chainsaw around my silos that were pissing me off because I kept ramming them, no chaff, hay, manure, blah blah blah, just joyously working the fields, learning where everything is, and buying shit (the lower three fields and better equipment so far). To say this game is addicting, even to a city dude with zero ties or previous interest in farming, is a gross understatement. Just playing the basics, you realize the layers of this game just go on and on, and how each crop (and animals when you get them) interweaves with different functions of your farm, and each other, is one of the coolest applications of resource management I’ve seen, and I’ve got probably 50 RM games.

Xpand Rally
This was the first racinggame using Techland’s Chrome engine and just as I like that game I like this one too.
For starters I still think this game has great graphics even though they’ve aged (see guide for setting it too your desktop resolution) and while it doesn’t have an official WRC license or cars it does have an interesting carreer mode where you can buy upgrades for your cars.
In simulation mode a good setup, knowing the limitations of your cars and managing your speed accordingly are key to win in this game and I found this refreshing after comparing the driving in this game with the more arcade oriented rally games of the time, only Richard Burns Rally was more realistic.
– Real player with 66.9 hrs in game
I’ll admit that rally games are my guilty pleasure. Most feature mushy controls, daft physics or ridiculously undamageable cars. this has none of those. The controls are crisp, the physics moderately good, and cars which will fly apart satisfyingly when you ram into a building or errant rock. The career feature is quite well done, leaving you to decide which cars to buy to win certain races. It does have relatively few maps (4 maybe?), but a lot of variety of tracks round them keep things moderately interesting. Stability-wise, there were very few glitches (I can count them on one hand, after months of play). The car addons actually feel like they’re making a difference, and strategic part and tyre-selection can make an impossible stage remarkably enjoyable.

American Truck Simulator
American Truck Simulator is another production from the great SCS Software studio. Considering how they care for their players in Euro Truck Simulator 2, it couldn’t be otherwise! The creators once again prove that the games they create are complete products and the support does not end when the game / add-on is paid for, but all the time! Soon there should be an update of the state of California, the original state that appeared with the game’s premiere over 5 years ago and is still being improved and adapted to current standards both visually and technically.

American Truck Simulator (ATS) is the new title of the simulation created by SCS Software, which makes us live an adventure with our truck all around breath-taking landscapes and well-known places in USA. While you are travelling you will see the most famous architecture, for example The Golden Gate in San Francisco or the famous casino or hotel in Las Vegas. ATS is expanding more and more and this shows how SCS Software cares about making its product dynamic. We will play the part of a truck driver and we will travel on roads and highways with different sceneries in the background, such as desert, little populated areas or very busy metropolis. The unpublished system of event available for everybody and everywhere, thanks to the various upgrade, makes our adventure more interesting. It randomly creates accidents, parked cars and construction by the roadside or in the highway, reducing available lanes and blocking in cars, including out truck. Be careful when you are travelling because the police are always around the corner! Moreover, the fine collection system has become stricter than it was in the past, both because of the increase of the amount of money you have to pay if you exceed speed limitations, if you go right through red lights or if you cause accidents, and above all because patrol cars, which could normally drive through traffic or be hidden behind buildings or billboards, can give you a ticket at any stage; this makes the player pay attention to speed limitations, which vary according to each state. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W8QocRQKJMk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8NfkIrItLtI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uCJkbGj7des ATS natively supports mods and communities, considering that the game engine is the same as Euro Truck Simulator 2 (ETS 2) and this has made many changes be able to replace the lack of official trucks and has made the game more realistic and longer-living. In ATS you will also find a managerial section in which you can purchase your truck (getting into debts with a bank, if it is necessary), customizing it according to your tastes and you can also choose among a list of several interesting jobs dedicated to those who have decided to freelance. You can also hire drivers, purchase other trucks and create a big machine which can make you earn a lot of money. At this stage you could also purchase warehouses and expand your business in other cities. Moreover, your driver can increase his level and get experience scores which you could use in different sectors, such as fragile or luxury goods, trafficking length, special transports (e.g. explosive) and rush deliveries. This happens above all when you meet longer trailers than they were before, so that also a veteran of this saga needs some time to get used to the driving of these new means and to park them. Actually, it is possible to choose the difficulty of this latter: normal or expert. In the normal version the maneuvers which are necessary are on the same level of ETS 2, in the expert version it becomes more and more difficult because you are required to park your trailer in little areas and overcome obstacles. ATS is a title in which developers have focused more on quality than on quantity of contents. For those who have experienced ETS 2 this could be a negative point, however the realism takes advantage of it and shows places and situations which are always different. I suggest that both those who experienced its predecessor and those who are neophytes buy this game. I highly recommend this game!
