Monster Showdown

Monster Showdown

So played today for first time after a few updates. First this is NOT the game I purchased, AT ALL. I know it’s early access and I expect some changes in gameplay etc, but this is a completely different game, even a different genre. It went from a dungeon crawler to a serious sam/ COD clone, with no tutorial, no controller explanations and horrible interface. It took me forever to figure out how to reload, I still don’t know how to swap weapons. If you’re going to completely scrap a game and start over (name and all) then just abandon the project and make the new game on it’s own don’t fob it off on early access purchasers.

Review on Rift S

I enjoy this game a lot! I will write down my impression of all game modes.

What was good? What improvements do I like to see?

OVERWORLD/HUB

I really like the idea of being in Heaven/Sky and it is a great upgrade compared to the house. Of course, the best thing is that there is a dog called Brody and you can pet him!!! I wish you can throw a stick or play ball with him in a future update! (JK)

The only thing I don’t like is the placement of the training dummy and the weapons shop. Now you will have the go over the whole map if you want to change/test weapons. But overall I am quite happy with the Hub.

NO MAN IS AN ISLAND

So far it’s alright for an early alpha, which should be a pre-alpha gun animation theres only 2 lol. so far big forested map with no building that i have ever come across the asking price is too much for a pre alpha which is what this is.

Vacancy Unlimited

Vacancy Unlimited

I’ve enjoyed what I’ve played so far. Vacancy Unlimited is made in the Unity engine, and as of day one of launch, is still in a rather primitive state, with a fair amount of placeholder art and missing some sound effects - as expected of an early access title.

The soundtrack is enjoyable to listen to, reminds me of Duke Nukem 2 and Wrack. The gameplay has a nice balance of relaxing as you search for weapons and ammo before the frantic hordes come upon you (usually in tight spaces) just before the end of the level. Rounding a corner before being ambushed by several gun-wielding enemies usually means your death, leading these engagements to be the most tense.

This is a fun game, but a hard game. You’ll find yourself pleasantly challenged and enjoying this fantastic old school/new school blend of FPS.

Developer needs to include a damage locator to let us know where the enemy is shooting us or hitting us from though. Without it, the game’s difficulty is brutal. I’m eager to see a more refined version of it. I’m also going to check out the dev’s earlier work.

7 Days to Die

7 Days to Die

You like open world? You like exploring? You like being creative? You like dying? Well maybe not that last part, but its going to happen depending on your settings. With the creative aspect, new P.O.I.s to explore and the inherent danger that follows, this game opens your world to the complete experience of what an open world game should be. I didn’t even mention horde night. Prepare yourself for an onslaught of zombies and test those creative skills. Can you survive until morning? I have over 1000 hours into this game and the amount of content available (to include the new update A20 which should be coming soon) Its like a new game every time I play it. A must play.

All these nay-sayers! Ok, so it’s still in Alpha, but to me, that isn’t a bad thing worthy of negative feedback! They have an already epic and fun game to play for free roam, base building survival players who enjoy having something to play with friends. They are CONSTANTLY upgrading, changing, and fixing things up based on the feedback. They did not decide to just whip out an indy game that could be improved and say “finished!” They chose to stick with it.

Sure it says “Alpha” and “early release” but this game is better than most supposedly “finished” games I have seen on steam. There may be some things that would chase a few off, but over all it is great and fun to play. It’s definitely got replay-ability (which most build your own base games lack) and there is enough variance in maps that I do not think I have been on the same one twice.

Corpse Mansion

Corpse Mansion

Synopsis

Corpse Mansion is an open-world action horror survival game where decisions play an important role in the outcome of the story. Cole Woods embarks on a mission to help his friend find her lost father, while trying to investigate an infectious disease that turns people into flesh-eating corpses.

You choose your own fate, watch the city plunge into complete chaos or build a unique economy to combat the virus. Use over 30+ weapons to lay waste to your enemies. Customize your guns with parts at a workbench to create the ultimate zombie killing weapon.

Current Features

  • Fully interactable environment : Use weapons that have the “Tool” trait to do more than just attack or use a rope to climb up a ledge. Search everything from vehicles to houses, drawers, boxes, cupboards, fridges, stoves, shelves and much more.

  • Impressive arsenal of weapons to obtain. Light enemies on fire with a flamethrower or blow them to pieces with an RPG, you choose how you want to fight this epidemic.

  • Crisp and accurate sound effects for everything in the game. For example, when you move, store, sell or drop an item, it plays its own unique corresponding sound effect.

  • Decisions impact the flow of the story and ultimately the ending too. Save the citizens from their demise to gain access to more resources. You can keep track of who you have managed to save on your portable data system. (must have unlocked data in main menu by obtaining the HPD Scanner)

  • Slot based limited inventory system for you to manage, with containers for you to store your rare items in (must own a safe house for storage containers).

  • Realistic Shops : Shop owners don’t have unlimited stock; items Sold to them will remain in that person’s shop stock for sale indefinitely until it’s sold again. Shop owners will also get a new stock or re-stock of items for sale as the story expands. Doing missions for them can also change what they sell.

  • Survival system where players have to manage Cole’s Hunger, Thirst and Rest. You can obtain food and water from various sources in the game. Players will also be required to find a bed to sleep in to restore their Rest stat or risk passing out from exhaustion.

  • Become your own Gunsmith! You’ll need a special item called a “Blueprint” first which teaches you how to repair and attach gun parts to a particular weapon. Then you can attach gun parts at any Gunsmithing Workbench to upgrade a weapon’s traits. Such as but not limited to Headshot Chance, Capacity, Damage, Durability, Knockback, Stun, ect.

  • Complex and unique dialogue selection system. Players will be able to know which things they have already said to an NPC to avoid unnecessary repeated dialogue (faded out grey). When options have a permanent effect on the game they will be highlighted in red to indicate this to the player. The same is true for green but in addition always satisfies the conditions of something.

  • You can also repair a weapons durability but beware of it costing more material (Aluminum) to repair the better your gun’s upgrades are.

  • Finally, you can create ammunition with gunpowder at a Gunsmith Workbench once you have learned the associated blueprint.

Planned Features

  • With enough support we can consider adding weather to the game world based on what time of year it is. So in the winter the streets of Hell City would be covered in snow ect.

  • Make the shops even more dynamic and change the Sale/Sell price of weapons based on their current upgrades attached. Right now weapons cannot be sold back to vendors because of their complexity. Parts can be sold normally.

  • A completely different mode of gameplay where you would select challenges to complete. More stages and challenges would get unlocked as you progressed through the games story mode.

  • A massive city to explore and loot items from. Suburbs, slums and downtown areas should all be covered.

Having trouble with the game?

If you are have any issues with proceeding through the story, you can contact support@corpsemansion.com or post in the community here - https://steamcommunity.com/app/1462190/discussions/ where someone will be able to assist you (most likely the same day even). While we strive to fix all bugs and make sure everything is perfect, we are still in Early Access so please report it to us and we’ll do our best to fix it. Thank you for your understanding. We are constantly adding more content to the game so we appreciate your patience here.

Night of the Dead

Night of the Dead

Night of the Dead is a great “Tower Defense” game. Yes it has “Open World Survival Craft” but you need to understand this is a “Tower Defense” game first.

So I played this game when it first came out and I really liked it. It had a good foundation to build upon. Yes it was a bit buggy in spots. I finished the story then set the game aside for a while.

I have now returned to the game after the big Electric Update (Dev #5).

I have to say I am blown away by what was added and changed in this game for the good.

First of all, let me start off by admitting that I am absolutely a soft touch when it comes to indie games. I’ll forgive them for things I’d never accept from a AAA design studio, and with good reason. It takes so much guts to be an indie designer, to go out there with nothing but passion and a dream and make something that other people are happy to spend hours of their life playing.

Night of the Dead is very much a work in progress, and it doesn’t pretend to be otherwise. But, every masterpiece has to start off with a rough draft to begin with before you can polish it up. And that’s what we’re lucky enough to have the opportunity to play here: A diamond in the rough.

Ozone Wipeout

Ozone Wipeout

Ozone Wipeout is a post apocalyptic open world zombie survival game. You have to survive harsh weather conditions, zombies and resource scarcity in a procedurally populated world.

The terrain shape and road network is at the current time of development prebuild. Everything else is populated at runtime, giving every survival attempt a different world to explore.

Use stealth to avoid zombies or take them head on in a fight.

Utilizing what you find in the world helps to increase your chances of survival. Finding food and water but also tools and weapons are important to ensure long term survival.

Sleep at night in a secured bed, in a tent or simply on the floor or use the reduced vision of zombies at night to scavenge for resources.

Weather can massively impact your decision making and survival chances. Bad weather may force you to stay inside buildings to avoid getting in deadly situations.

Craft items from various resources you find in the world. This ranges from fortifications for your base to makeshift weapons to protect you in a pinch.

Fighting the undead can not only result in death but often comes with injuries such as bruises, lacerations and scratches that require treatment.

Manage a variety of attributes ranging from hunger and thirst to fatigue. Your actions directly affect your attributes.

The game features a regular and a sandbox mode. In the regular mode the game offers no customization options. This means the game will be played as intended by the developer. Regular mode for example features permadeath. Sandbox mode allows the player to customize the game to their liking by changing settings such as zombie density, loot abundancy etc.

Create mods for the game to alter gameplay, visuals and more to create custom experiences within the game.

Not a bad game, from what i understand so far its limited being a new game and all so i expect alot more in future but for now its pretty fun and alittle addictive for me the only thing is dislike so far which really takes away form game is lack of instructions the base tutorial pop ups were great but going further no direction I find mysel asking

Why do my ppl keep dying even when i have food and safety

Do i need 20 homes for a large population or can i upgrade existing to hold more people. game lacks small details so im just doing whatever hoping for best overall great game and i have found little wrong with it so far.

I just started the game, but can see a lot of potential! The developer is very passionate and invested in this game and you can tell. It seems as though if you don’t get featured as a big indie game on steam, it’s hard to get reviews, and I wanted to give a shout out for this one. I’m looking forward to supporting the developer as he continues the game. I read a comment on one of the discussion boards that was pretty nasty, saying the game looked like another game, and honestly, you can say that about so many games out there. It’s the way in which a game is developed, and particularly when the developer cares and listens to feedback, that can make a game feel different and fun.
