Old Salt

Old Salt

Players begin the game as one of six factions with control of three islands, a fleet of ships and a handful of gold.

A player obtains victory over the other players by controlling 6 islands or being the last ship sailing. There are many routes to that victory but the journey will without a doubt involve sailing your ships, firing cannons, seizing islands, and using faction abilities.

Sail ships

Players can move up to 3 ships on their turn and are able to move a ship up to 3 tiles unless aided by Known Tradewinds

Ships are able to turn in any direction players desire. Think of the movie Pirates of the Caribbean where they dropped anchor and drift a U-turn and outmaneuvered the Black Pearl.

Fire cannons

Step one of firing your epic cannons, count the number of tiles to the target. That is the minimum you need to roll to hit the target.

Step two, pay your crew to load and fire that cannon! 1 coin to fire a single shot. Roll to see if it is successful.

If successful, place a damage token under the target, if unsuccessful, roll better next time.

Seize islands

When seizing an island, a player must first be adjacent to the island they would like to control. Once in position, pay 2 coins for the island along with a mast that belongs to the faction you are wrestling island control from.

Seizing an island that is defended is very costly. For each enemy ship that controls that island within 2 tiles adds 1 coin to the overall cost of seizing the island.

Use faction abilities

When playing with faction abilities, each player selects 1 of the 6 factions to be. Each faction comes with 3 exciting and unique abilities that no one else has access to. These will help players turn the tide of war.

Abilities can cost coins to use or be limited on when you can use them, such as on your turn or when you seize an island.

On the left side of each faction card is an illustration, some adjectives to describe the faction and a quote the faction can be heard saying from time to time.

Siege the Day

Siege the Day

I tested this game and did enjoy it.

Things i have spotted is people expecting stronghold like gameplay, it really is nothing like stronghold.

The video, made it seem to me as if it’s a microtransaction fest, it has no microtransactions.

You build your castle and shoot the enemy’s castle into bits, much like castle storm.

In all honesty, if i had to chose between siege the day and castle storm i’d prefer playing castle storm, but this game has entertained me greatly as well.

Controls may seem wonky at first, but they’re easy to get used to.

This is the old 80 game Crossbows and Catapults re-imagined as a computer game - for an early access release its playable and fun.

Game does need some polish - takes a bit of patience to get thru the tutorial and voice acting needs to change.

I can’t comment on Multiplayer as I haven’t been able to get in a game - I assume its a lack of players :(

1953: NATO vs Warsaw Pact

1953: NATO vs Warsaw Pact

A must-buy for any Wasteland veterans, especially modders. Looks great, runs smooth, and the possibilities are endless. We’ll need a navy for Norway, armies for Israel, etc., but that’s part of the bargain. It’s all very easy to do with Notepad ++. I just copied all the commanders from Time of Fury, made the necessary text changes, and have 100 commanders. Of course, I have no interest in building a game with the actual historical military commanders from 1953 :)

In fact, I am considering downgrading the superpowers' unit levels to maybe “3” to give them more to research, while Hungary would be Level 1. Also interesting to bring Turkey into the mix on the NATO front to give USSR something more to worry about. Not really interested in the nuke part of the game, but that may well be very important for the design.

Always choose Warsaw!

So I start the game up and are greeted to some screen adjustments. I type it in and proceed to the main screen. Here I can chose to do a fast game, or simply customize a match.

I thought the game was a simple war game in the style of similar games such as the war aspects of Civilization series and age of empires, but as I would discover, there was nothing simple about this game.

I start a match as a NATO country, one of the two factions you can join and NOTHING on the screen makes any sense. I tried to press some buttons, but nothing happens. The game has no tutorial to teach you how to play the game, so I am officially lost. I find the “next turn” button and 5 minutes of the other countries turns go by. At this moment I was so bored from looking at the computer make it’s moves, that I then did nearly nothing and said next turn and the 5 minute hell continued.

4th Generation Warfare

This Is an update to the review 11/20/21

Single player Is not bad to play. There are quality of life things that needs to be Improved.

  1. Instead of checking the phone for each person or backing out the menu to re open to view messages from characters to have a simple list of all messages.

  2. When you tell your military to move somewhere they will move Into borders of countries and start a war If still there traveling In two or three days.

  3. More defence from cyber attacks. As a large country you cannot defend against this. Other actors can ruin your entire economy and cause mass shortages withing days.

In the beginning it was confusing but the more I played the more I realized all of the hidden treasures that this game has behind its sleeve. Its not those games that tells you everything right off the bat and spoiling all the fun by doing so, this is a progressive type game that the longer you play the more you discover and develop a history as the leader of the nation. By far one of the most underestimated games with extremely high potential by far I have ever seen to date. If you don’t like this game cause its hard, tutorials aren’t good, or you don’t understand the game play, I would say that the game provides difficulty levels and different modes to play through, play the actual game and this is 4th generation warfare which you should have researched what that means if you don’t know. Great Game!

There’s a lot to like about the game, but also a lot to hate.

To a new buyer, I’ll lay it out simple:

Playing the game solo is unlikely to be satisfying. The game centers around a persistent war (24/7) where vast imbalances in population per side and per region are actively exploited to overrun one side or the other. You are entirely dependent on what the rest of your team has done in the last few hours, as well as the number of players currently present, to stand a chance.

For someone who doesn’t care, or likes being roped into big clan ops or plays with friends: You will catch a lot of flak for playing badly, but many clans are happy to take you in and teach you.

A wonderful game that encourage coop with other people to achieve victory in a shared war. The experience is something to truly behold as you experience war that is depicted as it is, bloody, despairing and death. Take part whether as:

Logistics: to ferry supplies to the front, the lifeblood ensuring that the front does not fall

Infantry: Holding the lines against other players through a variety of small arms, from bolt action rifles to machine guns all manufactured at factories.

Builders: Crafting intricated layered defences powered by AI and players, building the trenches and bunkers ensure the first line of defence.

I love this game! For being made by 1 person It beats a lot of AAA games in creativity. I would really like to see more games like this in the future and I will be following the game’s development closely!

I pirated this game from Google, but after playing it for a while I decided to just buy the game to support the developer bcs this game is just super fun, after just 40 hours of playing this game I can say I love it the designing of the hull and turret is simple but is still fun, I’ve already made about 20 tanks just from WW1, the only problem with this game is that it’s empty and lacking a lot of other features that I would like in the game, I understand that it’s only made by one person so I can wait for as long as possible so that he can improve this game a lot, so I’ma just list the problems I have with the game:

Very good game but short…(more coming soon)

Need to be optimized but It’s hard and fun to play.

I hope they will continu to work on.

Real player with 24.9 hrs in game

Having played Hero Armored Company for about 10 hours now, already some things can be said about this tank sim. Let me begin with the most important thing: I like it! This game has the potential to become a great tank simulator.

Does it have problems? Yes. Does it need improvement? Absolutely! But that doesn’t wipe out the fact that this is the most fun tank sim I’ve played since World Of Tanks (and I’ve played a LOT of WoT!!!) - and for me at some points it even superseeds it!

THE GAME

For now only part of the single player content is available with a Story Mode (with at this moment 8 missions) - an aspect I definately miss in WoT! Single Player Mission Mode and Multiplayer Mode will become available at a later stage. So far I have been grinding myself though the Story Mode.
