Craftlands Workshoppe

Craftlands Workshoppe

Been playing this off and on since early access started and I’m gobsmacked by the negative reviews by people with very few hours played.

There is a TON of content, yes it’s a bit grindy to start with until you understand the mechanics with workers but there really is a lot of game here for the price.

Orig review below:

This is a delightful shop management game full of interesting mechanics and strong progress goals pushing you to become A Master Of All Crafts.

At present in EA I haven’t encountered any game breaking bugs and it feels like its 75% towards being an excellent time sink.

First Impressions - It’s fun but rough around the edges.

Craftlands Workshoppe dabbles in a bit of everything from gathering, crafting, consumables, trade, management, a semi-automated worker system, etc. There are a fair number of systems and game mechanics but, many feel hollow or half-finished at this stage in development. With that said, the current state of the game does show promise.

-Gripes-

Not a whole lot is explained well and pacing really needs work to make progression flow better. Most of the crafting is progress bar/timer based while smithing features a horribly annoying minigame, which I found odd and out of place. I also think workers are overwhelming and introduced too early in the game, although, they are a time-saver as you progress and earn more cash. The big issue early on being they cost too much upfront to hire and in continual upkeep considering the starting profits. Lastly, gathering and crafting in general require an obscene amount of clicking which could be streamlined to prevent pointless time waste.

Dwarven Forge

Dwarven Forge

This game shows a lot of promise and i’ll be keeping a very close eye on it.

I’m recommending this game as a show of support for a game I wish to see finished however It isn’t exactly in a playable state currently due to bugs and possible balance issue (that or i just suck not sure yet lol).

The depth of the crafting with all the different qualities and material types really is something i’m looking forward to seeing when the game is more complete.

A Little Shop in Squirrel Town

A Little Shop in Squirrel Town

It’s a mixture of Recettear and Harvest Moon. It’s a very relaxing/your own pace type of game.

Not complicate and very simple/easy game. Have a lot of activities to do in game.

Grow crops, fish, explore dungeons, unlock crafting recipes (cooking/armor/weapon/accessory), and sell them at your shop.

Collect monster cubs from dungeons for as livestocks for loot. Each type gives different loot.

Level up your fairy to help in dungeon (kinda stupid as it attacks the direction you’re facing, if you’re running away then it doesn’t work that well)

Its a sweet little game. You can grow/collect/buy items and sell it. The artstyle is very sweet. I realy like it.

Best things:

  1. The devs answer very quick and improve the game asap.

  2. The price of the game is realy low if you think about all the work it takes to make such a game.

Gabb the games as long as you can get it so cheap! :)

Car Trader Simulator

Car Trader Simulator

Better than I expected, but still has a lot of opportunity.

Having worked within a dealership in both sales and service previously, the game does a good job in trying to simplify their replication of used car recon. Like in real life, you as the manager wants to pay as little as possible, and put as little money as possible into reconditioning, and getting it on the front line of the car lot or online for sale ASAP. Also always being on the auction tab, or paying attention to it, i know dealers that spend half their day buying vehicles similarly to this.

First of all this game is not for people who seek the big adventure or variety of gameplay. It is repetetive as a car seller job can be.

But it is fun. Maybe it is because I am from the older generation who used to play simple like this games on the C64. Just sit there, buy the car or not and sell the car (if you bought it).

I am so hooked up with this game, that I am making a list of which car is worth how much so I know if it is worth to buy it or not. The prices seem random at first, but you have to take distance and age into account (like in real life) and suddenly you know what is a good deal.

Cozy Cabin

Cozy Cabin

From the developer of Simple Farm comes a brand new relaxing survival game where you survive in a cabin set in a old school operating system.

I was watching a Kingsway stream one day, an RPG set in an old-school style operating system, when someone in the comments said that the UI was cozy. The comment immediately inspired me to make a coziness simulator based completely in an old-school desktop. Cozy Cabin is meant to be as relaxing as possible. It’s set in a quiet, rainy town where your only job is to fish, farm, and mine in order to pay your monthly rent and stay in the cabin.

We Are Open

We Are Open

The game concept is interesting but

  1. it’s a little too messy with multiple people with the shopping lists around all at once, gets a little overwhelming tbh

  2. those people move around a lot so even after you get the item, they have moved to the other floor and you have to go find them again lol, a little annoying ngl

  3. the AI obviously knows where all the stuff are so it’s like impossible to try and compete with it at all really

  4. each item for each person can only be fulfilled once by you or the bot so it’s kinda frustrating that you scramble to find the item only to return and see that the bot had already gave it to the person lol

The Viking Way

The Viking Way; an ambitious project that aims to bring a Viking experience into the 3D RPG world. Upon playing I could see the amount of work being put into this project, through their slowly chipping away at every unpolished surface in the game with every update.

It’s Medieval times, when the Vikings rule the high seas and warring factions fight for new land and dominance over other factions. This is where I come into play; I am about to set off on a journey to represent the Faction Ribe and make my father proud.

## Dark Dealings

So i stumbled upon this game whilst browsing through the store and what a find it turned out to be!!! A nice little game with elements of Dopewars, the original gta and even sensible soccer especially when using the top down camera! Even feels and looks a bit like the original south park in 3rd person! Proper little diamond in the rough and i look forward to spending more time on the game and for future developments!!!

To be up front I received the game from the developer for free.

I played the game for about an hour and the bare bones for an open world RPG has been laid out. Everything else still needs to be fleshed out. I think the developer would really benefit from making a free demo available so they could get a lot of feed back. I think this would be beneficial because the developer seems interested in the game being a success.

Keep in mind this game is in early alpha testing. The complete game could be great but in its currents state I don't think it's worth buying. I'm going to write out a review below but you can see my gameplay on my YouTube channel, linked below:
