Tennis Fighters

Tennis Fighters

really fun game; love the hilariously stern umpire voice. heres where i struggle; what i do intuitively is to hit the ball when its at arms length in front of me; but to set the direction of the ball you need to hold down the hit button and move the blue dot located cross court with your Left Stick to choose where it’ll land; once you hold down the hit button ur character can no longer move; so i find myself having to predict ahead of where the opponent is gna hit, and run to there, and hold the hit button to set the little blue dot, then finally release the button to hit, given i had predicted correctly and the ball lands in front of me; but most time my position is slightly off and the ball fly past me a couple feet out of my reach.

Tennis Elbow Manager 2

If you like sports management games, you will definitely love this game. As a long-time player of the OOTP series, MotorSports Manager, Bowl Bound and Wolverine Studios games, I was interested in finding another immersive title to whet my sports management appetite. I was a bit concerned about buying a tennis game, as I am not a die-hard tennis fan, but after spending a few minutes with this game I was hooked.

The game begins with creating your own tennis player or using a close facsimile of a real historical or current player. You then plan their training and tournament schedule. Each player has a preferred style of play and a number of attributes that you focus on improving. You can play out the matches in real-time in a well-presented arcade style of tennis, or you can simply create and adjust an overall strategy while observing your player’s matches (you can also let the game simulate results).

Honestly, if you ever looked for a tennis MANAGER game, look no further !

This game is great in its fundaments and basic principles and tries to depict real life tennis as good as possible, be it animations, tactical decisions, training and most of all, the tactic and skill of the AI Players, which arent overpowered to give you a nut to crack…no, they play and behave like real players with strengths and weaknesses and great tactical awareness !

This Tennis game wants to be a simulation and achieve this goal very well ! The underlying game mechanics are well thought through, and if you take your time to dive deep into it, you can always understand why Player A is most times winning against Player B ! No randomification here

All-In-One Sports VR

All-In-One Sports VR

This VR sports game has a nice assortment of 10 sports games for the price of 1. When I first started the game, it had a nice fun game assortment of options to chose from. I’ve played each sports game with various different opinions on each one.

1.Archery: This sport is nice and relaxing just requires you to aim towards the target. Like that’s they’re other factors that could cause you to be less accurate on shots. Requires more skill to actually aim towards the target.

2.Billard: This is a fun and relaxing game. I like that there’s an indication to telling if you going to hit one of the balls or the direction of where the ball could land. All in all good, but make it so when you’re viewing your opponent’s turn you can move easier around the table.

Ok so. i have almost all of the standalone appnori games. They were always pretty good but this is probably the one you want to get now that it has a ridiculous amount more content.

Only downsides is the artstyle here is more Chibi so some events everything is super sized.

I think there’s a lot of content if you’re into only scoreboard or just beating the AI. Haven’t tried multiplayer.

In general all of the sports “work” there’s no control issues. Controls are really polished it’s just on the arcade side. So some sports like golf there are way better more realistic golf games out there.

More Appnori greatness. :) The greatness in this game doesn’t really shine until you find yourself playing against the Terminator robot with a stop sign as your racket. That being said the game isn’t without it’s flaws. The AI is too easy. I beat all 5 AI opponents in one hour.

You can put a ridiculous amount of spin on the ball, and the killer feature is the signature Appnori bullet time where you ram it down their throat just at the right moment. If I’m gonna pick any tennis game to play casually it would probably be this one just for the bullet time feature.

Update 2:

I have not owned a VR headset for over a year, so I can’t keep track of the game. The developer does seem active with the community.

If you like tennis, you should support it because as far as I know there are no other VR tennis games that are better.

Update:

After having a chat with the developer, I still can’t recommend the game, but there are some points that are important:

  • It’s a hobby project, not created to make money and that’s fantastic. The developer him/herself is a professional tennis player.

I am playing this with Oculus 2, from steam running on msi laptop with ndvia rtx2060, and wifi connection with honor 6 plus rooter. The game runs smoothly. Initially I had weaker rooter and wifi issues were creating the lag but after replacing it to honor it is fine.

The game is definitely fun! It is realistic in the sense that it definitely engages body into moves requiring some basic tennis fundamentals. It also provides good environment to observe ones own execution of the strikes e.g. serve, forehand, backhand … during training with tennis machine, training match or on tour. This is quite fun because the pressure is only created by me and whatever I do works only for feedback (feel of the game or scores). I started to play this at the end of winter with the arcade mode and automatic running, which was fun especially when beating players on tour but too forgiving and it ruined my real life serve and backhand. The ball hit the net constantly when I returned to courts. Due to muscle memory vr it took me a couple of real world training sessions and games to get it back to normal. During summer I did not play this at all as there was plenty of opportunities to play outdoors either the tennis ball machine or with friends. In Finland the summer is over now and I tried the vr game again today, in simulation mode and automatic running. In this vr setting I was pretty bad but if I relax and try to apply right fundamentals into the strikes then its getting better…. I consider this a good sign and I am curios what effect vr tennis simulator would have on my technique now. Let see after playing real tennis with friends. Unfortunately I have limited space usually 2x3m, max 3x4m, so I haven’t tried the real tennis court scale running. Though I am glad there is this option and I look forward to try that soon. In summary, I recommend the tennis simulator because it is definitely fun, reasonably realistic and gives moderate workout. Although it requires quite an investment if you need to buy good gaming pc … On the other hand it serves as an alternative workout without need to pay for indoor tennis courts. From my experience this tennis simulator with possibility to play it in vr is definitely more fun than vr boxing or dancing.

Tennis Elbow 4

Tennis Elbow 4

Very well done tennis game and an improvement over the previous installments (TEM2 and TE2013). Although still in early access, and likely to remain there for a while since this is a one-man operation, it still gives other tennis games with a much larger budget a run for their money. Obvious issues include lack of animations, low quality ball, crowd, and grunt sounds, few character cosmetic customization options, and overall presentation being somewhat weak when compared to the triple-A variants. But what this game has over all of those expensive competitors is a very active dev who responds to community concerns and basically works around the clock to fix issues in the game. The difficulty settings range from way too easy to realistic to the AI is a god mode, with varying strategies and player archetypes which is a major contrast to some of the other tennis games available where the AI only ever strikes from the baseline and never approaches for any reason. This gives TE4 replay value far beyond its competitors. You can play in career mode against the serve and volley era of the 80s all the way through to the baseline sluggers of today. You can start from the humble ranks as a 1000 and work your way up to the top, or craft your tennis prodigy all the way from youth as a 13 year old junior. This game honestly has it all despite its graphics. 10/10

Set to become THE Tennis Game

Even in the Early Access stage this game is impressive. It captures the intensity of tennis in the most positive way.

From the first versions it has seen quite a lot of improvements. Especially, the backhand shots which felt strange as soon as the game came out. Most shots landing short and with little top spin.

Animations look good for the most part. For the time being (v. 0.43 SubBuild 2021.7.10) the only exception would be the volleys, which look and feel kind of odd. I’m pretty sure all the animations will be amazing once the game releases and the modding community embraces the game. Something which has made its predecessor, TE2013, so awesome.

Tennis Manager 2021

Tennis Manager 2021

To begin with, i was actually quite happy with my purchase as i got to grips with the mechanics of the game. rode the highs and lows of a season and achieved the required objectives to go into season 2.

First minor gripe is that you are not aware of what attributes would be beneficial in your new role as coach on your first play through, so i hedged my bets and unfortunately didnt get my attributes right. now i’m stuck as a 3.5 star coach with no way of improving. not ideal. basic highlighting would have done the job.

Alright, let’s write this feedback in English (and not in Russian or French) in order to be visible to a higher number of people who consider to buy Tennis Manager 2021.

I have bought this game “thanks to” an important ankle injury, which threw me out of tennis for at least 9 months. I am a tennishead. I play it myself, I watch it and now I also play it on virtual courts. Before, i was more a football fan. I mean THE football which is played with… feet, not this American Rugby thing which i quite like by the way. 10 years ago I used to play Football Manager a lot and i must say that Tennis Manager is quite similar to it, although there is a lot of things to improve.
