Check out the video I made for this game, contains my experience pretty much:

Let me start this review with one thing.

It’s so nice to see a priced game in the newly released section of steam that doesn’t make me frustrated after playing it. The title screen isn’t very visually appealing and the main character gives me a chuckle with how silly he looks, but then you get to the actual gameplay and it’s there where you realize this game has a lot of potential. This is a game that, as far as I can tell, was made by one guy, probably utilizing a game creating engine of sorts but that’s besides the point.

Absolutely love the music and the boss fights. There are still some small bugs and typos I noticed, but nothing that hinders enjoying the experience this game offers.

Mudge is easily my favorite boss fight, and the parrot was definitely amazing. I also really love that each boss fight offers players a unique challenge different from the previous ones. The Yarn power ups that were added since the demo are also really rad.

Keep up the good work, all! 3

A surprisingly difficult platformer that is well flushed out, its a great time with friends and trying to get further than the other. As someone who typically doesnt do platformers like this, I truly enjoyed the experience and purchased a copy for my friend.

Heroes Never Lose: Professor Puzzler’s Perplexing Ploy

Heroes Never Lose: Professor Puzzler’s Perplexing Ploy

I’m pretty fond of puzzle games, but I don’t think I’ve recently played anything within the genre that’s had me coming back for more as frequently as this one has. The play style was more than likely based off of an already existing puzzle game (Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo), which I’ve never had the chance to play, though I do believe this does stand out as it’s own game.

The characters, heroes and villains both are designed as if they’re “diet” versions of ones we already know and love, but that’s their greatest strength. It’s very amusing to look at them that way, like “Wow what if The Flash also delivered pizza’s on his downtime? What if his entire superhero identity revolved around that?”

TLDR: Eternal Early Access. Limited Roster. Not as intuitive or feature rich as Puyo Puyo Tetris. Play that instead.

Splitscreen Dr mario combat with Xbox360 pad and retro theme. Well made too, just lacks a bit in content and has a few blemishes that needs fixing. Slow updates. Possibly abandonned.

It is a retro superhero fight Dr mario game. Xbox360 pad works out of box. Game is well designed mechanically, with the ability to fuse squares of same colored blocks which becomes attacks when cleared. Attacks dump a bunch of random tiles on a timer in the enemy screen rather than attack hit points which is both clever but also very obvious way of handling the combat mechanic. I like it, clean and fair. The timer ensures that your attack dont immediately give your foe ammo for a counter attack with all the randomly fused blocks.

(Don’t Fear) The Templar

It took playing the recent Quake remaster, but now I get it.

It’s good. Nay, ace. No doubt about it. If it wasn’t up against the stiff competition that is the years upon years of high quality ‘boomer’ shooters, this would be a completely unqualified early access recommendation.

Ultrakill, Ion Fury, Post Void, Project Warlock 1 + II, Amid Evil, DUSK, HROT, Maximum Action, GTTOD, Prodeus, Cultic, etc - be they full games, early access, or just demos, the retro, ‘boomer’ shooter genre really is booming. I also cannot wait for the likes of Into the Pit, Fortune’s Run, and Forgive Me Father. In fact, there are so many that even when I say that I’d place this firmly mid-list it’s not even that damning.

TLDR; If you like retro shooter gameplay, and would like to have fun, buy it now!

I will just start listing what comes to mind, that makes me love this game, then write some experiences from my first 8 hours of playing on the hardest difficulty so far. Smooth movement with air controll using the mouse, running feels similar to classic doom (taking a short time to reach full speed), satisfying meaty gun sounds and very good feedback with lots of gore, build variety that actually changes gameplay, bullet time, stylish awesome visuals, amazing soundtrack, atmosphere, very good enemy and level design, exploration with rewarding secrets to find, weapon swapping combos combined with positioning during combat.

I’m keeping this game not because of what it is now but what I feel like it could become. Current state it’s a tech demo. the ai is a joke the powers are fun but there are no real objectives outside of collecting the 8 powers. You have a fast runner, (to me this should be combined with the teleporter click a teleport spot and super speed run there.) the teleport guy the flyer and the shield. then the other hand you have flame shot, some hexing attack which increases damage enemies take, laser eyes and a minigun. they all work fine.

Echoing a lot of other comments on here, PowersVR is a really well done superhero game with a huge amount of potential, but it is definitely worth noting that right now it is closer to a proof-of-concept than a game. So although the content of the game is quite lacking right now, everything that is there is done very well, which gives me confidence for the final product being really great.

As of now, you can explore a city, unlock new heroes, fight robots who are pattering about, and do challenges. The different superpowers are extremely fun and unique. My favourite by far is the ability to fly, (which is extra fun to do with the touch controllers) although the running fast and fireball abilities are also crazy fun. Right now there is no story or anything like that, and it is definitely something I would love to see in the future, with some kind of progression through levels. I think it would also be awesome if there were boss battles that included fighting super villains who had their own powers and henchmen enemy types.

At the time being you can only hire employees to “create comics,” just to guess what the sliders mean from reviews trying to find a sweet spot.

It works. It’s just barebones.

Edit: But lots of updates.

Old Review is down below.

Patch 1 update does fix some things, it makes the experience a little more challenging and I like that there’s some bugs that have been fixed. However, I still have gripes with the rating system, as I will get a low score and a positive comment now as compared to the old patch where it was the opposite of said issue. The main thing this game really needs is more features, you can only get so far only being able to write comics and just view how they are doing. Still, I think this patch was a step in the right direction and can only see it getting better as substandardshrimp continues developing it. I’m still going with thumbs down for right now as it is still a mostly featureless game, keep updating though! I would love to see this blossom into a wonderful game.

Lovely Fox

Lovely Fox

Oh, Lovely. You walk like an exotic dancer, and you clomp around like one too, making more noise than a Clydesdale as you scamper around the map. But you have those cute little fox feet and when you swim I see those paw pads! So a whole .49 cents USD well spent.

OK, you have an uncanny valley human face, and ginormous boobs, but you are brave. You swim, you run, you fall off of rocks. Controlling you is like steering a tank, but that’s OK. You live in a beautiful world. I have no idea what size you are because you are bigger than some flowers and smaller than others, but I’m pretty sure this game is a meme anyhow.

This review was made based on an Early Access product (v1.4b), so some of these points may not apply to future versions of the game.

Over two years ago, this game popped on up Steam as “Coming Soon”. At the time, Steam didn’t allow much in the way of Mature Content offerings, let alone ones slanted toward “furries”. So I Wishlisted it, but the game never seemed to go live. Today, I found the game showing up in my Wishlist Sales page, “released” just a few weeks ago into Early Access. The reviews didn’t look good, but I had to give it a spin.

Project META

Project META

Such a fun superhero game, perfectly fufills several superhero power fantasies from web slinging to shooting fire from your hands to super strength and flight. You know that scene where superman punches his foe into the sky and hit them a couple more times, only to zip around in front of where they’re flying towards only to smack them to the ground? You can do that, and it feels WAY cooler than you think.

It is still in early development and I am SUPER excited to be there every step of the way as this game grows and develops.

Real player with 14.1 hrs in game

If you would like to feel like superman and send enemies flying, this game is for you! This game really makes me feel like a super hero and you can actually have a selection of many more powers and it will keep growing! The graphics are good and will improve over time I can bet because the single dev is listening to the players! You have a variety of enemy types to choose from and the level selection is decent.

This game has so much potential, just give it time and you will love it!
