Baldur’s Gate 3

Baldur’s Gate 3

Recommended only if you are willing to accept that it is not complete and is still yet a while away from being done. Very similar to Larian’s previous two games but with just enough tweaks to make it feel fresh and closer to DnD ruleset. Some say it may as well have been called DOS3. While true, it’s also not a bad thing. Those games IMO are responsible for the resurgence of the old-school CRPG genre. Personally, this is my dream game. Huge fan of the originals and huge fans of the DOS games. Actually had the out-loud thought back in 2014…“what if Baldur’s Gate made a comeback and these Larian dudes were the ones to do it?” Wish granted. People will nitpick and complain, but I’m beyond impressed with what I’ve seen so far. The RTWP argument has been done to death and if you want to cry about it, go play Pillars of Eternity. It’s so close a copy to the old Infinity engine games that it honestly got stale and lost its nostalgia shine real fast. I would have been disappointed if a new game bearing the BG name turned out to be the same stuff I played to death 20 something years ago. The scope of what Larian is going for here is extremely ambitious and I’m 110% rooting for them to pull it off. With all of the possible dialogue options and minor little attentions to detail, its like a real tabletop in that everyone who plays will be working through the same “module” but everyone is going to experience that story differently depending on the player or groups decisions. Obviously, proper tabletop DnD cant be played solo, but just like the original Baldurs Gate games, this is/will be the best possible way for a solo player without and IRL group to play with to experience its universe.

This is a pretty amazing game the best DnD based game I have ever played it is very good. There is still a lot of development needed would not recommend this game if you do not have a high performance PC with an SSD they definitely still need to do some work on the performance. When the game leaves early access it will be well worth it I can assure you. For right now once you get bored of the waiting for new content check out what the modding community has done there has been some really great player content.

Book of Travels

Book of Travels

This is a very unusual mmorpg. It uses small servers, and many of them. The setting is pleasantly exotic. The artwork/graphics style is truly beautiful. The music is atmospheric. You play as a lone nomadic wanderer travelling a strange but peaceful land. You have to discover things as well as getting good at trading. The combat is pretty unique. Periodically you find stat-based object encounters called Endeavors, that will richly reward you. There are also plenty of worthwhile roadside encounters. There is a very unusual method for handling co-operative party play too. It is all simple, intuitive, and innovative.

There is something meditative about this game. While you can fight, you really don’t have to. I will admit at times it gets buggy, but I can look past that to the gem it is. Where other games give you a list of things to do and employ constant action to engage you, Book of Travels engages you with its world building, slow and introspective journeys and it’s skill system that you uncover along the way. There are so many secrets and much knowledge that you uncover as you walk the bereft of it’s massive, mystical world. I think, with time and more updates, this could be a incredible game.

Mist Legacy

I find the top review ridicolous on multiple levels, otherwise I wouldn’t bother writing one myself. I will try my best to make it stand on it’s own.

This is a puzzle, adventure and exploration built on grind, trade and fight that varies in difficulty based on your intellect, based on the choices you make regularly.

For starters(this all will only be a start), you have the choice to gather any combination of materials, to craft hundreds of variations of gear.

That means traveling shoes with work gloves or traveling gloves with work shoes.

For the first fifteen levels or so, this game is a cozy, single-player, free-to-play PvE RPG experience, and the community will likely help if you encounter any issues. That much I can recommend trying: it should give you a good idea of whether or not you’d enjoy the game long-term.

Nevertheless, the foundation of the game has several major flaws:

  1. Completing quests requires that you max level all adventure skills: such as subterfuge, academics, perception, etc. You can’t specialize. So, even though the game advertises the freedom to level however you want, in the long run there’s no real choice, because you need -all- the skills. Increasing your primary level also provides no choices. It increases your HP, and perhaps most notably, causes lower-level mobs to ignore you.

A cool rouge-like dungeons crawler and I am looking forward to the post-EA result.

It is currently in early access and it has a lot of potential to become an amazing game, and I hope the final result is so.

Where do I begin to say how broken this game is. It crashes, it’s missing sound effects, there’s no story, no tutorial, awkward keyboard commands, and boringly repetition. The game is not challenging. You simply run into pixels and that’s it. There is no family and no grave diggers here. And worse yet, the project appears to have been abandoned. Save your money.

the game is baren there are litterly tons of huge buildingd like the pub that have nothing in them no npcs no decor no nothing, then theres buildings that dont even have doors.ok these are minor things though its early acces so thats to be expected (a few tweaks here a few changes there ect ect i get that) but then theres the prob of not really knowing what your saposta to be doing let alone were. I came to a point were its night time you can’t sleep so you go wandering around the town and get into a fight with some monster called the agent, i stuned him (witch should have warn off after a few rounds but didnt) and proceded to hit him from behind for at least 30 mins i leveled up twice just from that and he’s still stuned and standing there,so I then tryed to go to the edage of the screen thinking you have to run from the battle but that too didn’t work, i’m pretty dam sure this game is broke I’d stay away from this mess till it works properly

BattleJuice Alchemist

BattleJuice Alchemist

Juice, the alchemist, is called to Caribou Creek to fight the demons that roam the lands. As your unique version of Juice you explore the procedurally generated wilderness that once was New England. Fight evil in classic action RPG isometric top down view and in bullet-time close combat.

Find and craft items with game-changing powers. Master BattleJuice Alchemist’s deck-building mechanics by arranging your compilation of flasks to suit your playstyle. Accentuate your character beyond character customization by using ritual magic as long-term buffs. Meet strange creatures from the Crossroads while the dark plot of BattleJuice Alchemist unravels.

UNIQUE ITEMS AND CHARACTER BUILDS

Loot and Craft

As an alchemist you wear no armor and wield no sword, but you rain down fire on your enemies. Find flasks with unique properties in the wilderness or craft them at your workbench. In deck-building fashion you create a compilation of flasks which you randomly draw from.

Unique Skill System

In BattleJuice Alchemist, your flasks are your skills. Every flask can be used the normal way and at times in a supercharged, “jucified” way for stronger effects. Some flasks have powers attached to them that drastically change their effects when used, which allows you to develop your own playstyle.

EXPLORE A DARK WORLD

Procedural Landscapes

The world of BattleJuice Alchemist is separated into vast levels of procedural landscape. Every valley, sea, river, mountain, building, stone, tree and item is placed by a unique algorithm. This allows you to continue exploring after you completed the main story and no playthrough will be the same.

Dark Lands to Discover

You are influenced by daytime and weather effects and so are your enemies. But they are also buffed by the evermore spawning demons’ presence. Find dark altars to hold their influence at bay and discover many other secrets.

ENGAGING COMBAT

Classic isometric ARPG action

Fight your enemies from afar in classic top down view. Throw explosive or freezing flasks at them, prepare ambushes of explosive barrels. Use the “Frog Hop” flask to jump away from danger or right into close combat.

Close Combat with Bullet-time

Enter close combat with an enemy, where you can interact hands on by dodging or using smoke flasks to avoid being hit. Manage your resources and flasks during these intense one on one battles against your awe-inspiring enemies from the Crossroads.

Very chill and fun game, you can spend hours in it without realising. If you enjoy farming and relaxing games like Stardew Valley, Graveryard Keeper or Harvest Moon, you’ll love this one. Soundtrack is really good and envolving, the art is absolutey CUTE :3 plus the dialogues and sceneries are full of funny references.

It’s still in early access so keep in mind that there’s a lot more content to come! The developers are always uploading bug fixes and new paches and they are also very communicative with the community, they take into consideration a lot of suggestion of the players.

this is a chill game, if you are a content creator on twitch or other, it is perfect to play while interacting with chat, if you like farm style, like stardew or haverstmoon,i highly recommend, take the game and just have fun, keep in mind that the game is only in early access, the developers are working hard on the game.

I was able to test before the early access, all suggestions and other things that i reported to them are taken into account.

If u’re going to play, I hope u love It as I did, and remember It’s still an early access so there’s much more to come!

CONSORTIUM: The Tower

CONSORTIUM: The Tower

There’s no game quite like Consortium. The original was this weird mixture of a Star Trek episode, Counter-Strike, and the original Deus Ex. While set on the Skyship Zenlil instead of the Starship Enterprise, the Captain, Pilot, Engineer, and Doctor joined with the player character: the overpowered redshirt.

As the OP Redshirt, hacked in some sort of metaplot, you go around schmoozing with your new crew, then discover a murder mystery, fight some Cling-Ons (Aggressive mercs who board your ship via a boarding carrier), and solve that murder mystery by fighting a traitor, whether you discover their identity or not.

It’s not done, not by a longshot

I loved that first game because it was unique and it actually held enjoyment for me

This game wants to be that first game, but on a much larger scale with much more freedom for the player.

TL;DR at bottom

PRO

-Voice actors

-Satisfying combat and stealth

-It’s mostly stable

-I feel like a fucking badass as the bishop.

-I can do what I want and it’s not even on rails or in an airplane.

  • I just discovered and played with the upgrades. Ho lee shit

CON

-The voices not acted

Darkzone: Idle RPG

Darkzone: Idle RPG

I have been playing for a long time during the alpha (before a massive overhaul of the combat happened) and when a Steam version (that also got like a 6 months alpha) happened.

When I found this game for the first time, the game was a bit clunky and the UI somewhat weird. The game was way way more simpler, we didn’t have conquest, the story was played ALWAYS as co-op (you used a second player as a bot, anyone in the range of your level), and we had a tap system to do damage, that nobody used.

Devs, in discord, listened to feedback, and with every update, some of the clunkyness was removed, some suggestions were added, things got changed, and we eventually got a massive rehauling of the combat and progression system, with levels, attribute builds, skills, and new different stats (evasion, accuracy, damage reductions… those stats didn’t exist at all before).

It’s a (mostly) auto-battler with some rpg / strategic elements that is a port from a mobile app. My sole experiences with the game have been through Steam, so this review is not based on the mobile experience. Overall, I recommend the game to players who enjoy incremental / auto-battler style games that incorporate some strategic elements.

Pros:

It’s visually appealing

The devs are exceptionally active on Discord and respond promptly to player issues. They remain positive in their player interactions regardless of ratings. When I raised an issue with my account, it was addressed quickly.
