Despot’s Game: Dystopian Army Builder

Despot’s Game: Dystopian Army Builder

Catch of the game is the PvP ladder. After you beat the last boss, your winning team will be matched against teams of other players in the king of the hill ladder. This adds so much replayability to already amazing looking and all around solid game. Even if RNG plays a big part, there seems to always be new strategy to beat the top dog in a rock-paper-flamethrower-scissors way. Atleast so far in early access each season brings new balance, new enemies and new mutations to play around, so meta keeps changing and it makes the game feel fresh.

This game, like most autobattlers, suffers a huge issue from the AI being extremely basic.

Everyone only running forward and attacking, regardless of what class they are. Your healers with no attack and 2 armor charge the enemy as brazenly as your tanks, and will have a higher speed then they do so they have to go pretty far back behind them to not reach the enemy before your tanks.

Then there is every unit’s way they use abilities, when they get into a certain range of the opponent they just use it, regardless if they’re in range or not.

Fun arcade style game that gives you that, “I want to complete the next level” feeling. Still early doors but I feel sure the road-map of improvements will be coming soon.

There are a bunch of things I like about this game. Start with the creative “sector” element of an arcade shooter. Moving to different sectors to clear out before giving the player the decision as to where they want to go next makes it a bit more controllable while breaking up the action in parts.

I also like the visuals. Simple but appealing too.

Really nice product!

A really nice mix between base building, Rogue and Strategy with a simplistic style which fits the game. Love that you’ve to mix between being not too bold and expand too quickly or take it too slow and not be prepared for the bosses.

Keep it up developers!

The Crackpet Show

The Crackpet Show

Are you ready to get famous? If so, grab your gun and join the most violent TV show in the history of violent TV shows! Participants will have to shoot, smash and rip through hundreds of enemies on their way to victory!

Don’t be discouraged by THE GIANT F*ING BOSSES that are more than capable of turning your innards outwards – just grab the best perks and weapons along the way. Make your gun spew molten lava all over the floor, turn yourself into a berserker, and let your bullets bounce between enemies! All these things stack, so you have every opportunity to turn your furry warrior into a raging death machine.

You’ll still die, though. That’s just how life is, even for those who wield a rail gun. But who cares about death when your audience loves YOU? Unlike real life, here you can make good use of the likes you receive.

Use your new-found fame to help upgrade every item and every perk to deal even more damage when you head out again. Oh, don’t worry about getting bored: every episode of the show is randomized so you’ll never have the same run twice in-a-row.

And, when you are completely done with show business, invite your friends and party-up with co-op mode with up to four players! Play smart and synergize with the team or bash their teeth in when they will try to steal your power-ups: every dirty trick in the book is valid, and every strategy works as long as you are having fun.

So, are you ready to sign the contract?

Rogue-lite Shoot’em-up

There are tons of enemies, dozens of weapons, lots of perks and items, randomized drop and map layouts, as well as carnivorous bosses for you to test your ability to beat the game with in-game items

The most bizarre TV Show

It’s cute. It’s colorful. It’s everything you love about old-school gore cartoons. This is your only opportunity to make a pink rabbit into a harbinger of death. Do not miss it!

Play solo or co-op

Play the game solo or get your friends to play with you, create elaborate tactics or mess around and try to steal your friend’s items and power-ups. The goal is to have fun and get famous, not to sit down crunching numbers. Though it’s also a thing if you are into it.

This game has already given me a place to improve my skills and understanding of Dungeons and Dragons, using 5th edition rules. Right now, I am learning about the fighter class, fighting style, and abilities such as second wind.

Also, the developer is very responsive.

If you like Dungeons and Dragons this is a game to add to your collection. It is a “rogue like” that is set in 5e Dungeon’s and Dragon’s, lots of in game depth for being such a lite game. It brings the player multiple choices of races, classes, abilities for specific classes, stat customization, and pregenerated character’s if you want to open and go.

I am very pleased with the game, and look forward to what this developer contributes to this game with future updates. Simply put a great, fun, pleasing, game to play. Thank you.

Ancient Abyss

Ancient Abyss

Great game, needs more content. Also the notion of space in this game is not so intuitive, always there is a chance that you can stuck in some bush or wall or something else. There are still bugs in this game, for example It happened to me to stuck in a chest room, because some of the mobs disappeared, he made noise, but he could not harm me, that’s why I need to restart the game, I could do nothing with it. Overall game is good, I like the pixel art, mob design, main character design, music is good, it needs more diversity, for example two hands sword and one handed sword have the same effect the difference is color and speed, make it different please. I didn’t like that you need boots for passing long empty distances, make it a special skill or something, The gloves are not precise, it’s hard to predict where will you arrive using them. But game is beautiful and is full of potential.

This game is by no means polished, however it is fun.

Starting with the cons because I want to get this out of the way.

  • I understand what they mean Zelda like, and while this game is not for zelda fans it does take a lot from zelda. The parts, but not the feel.

  • This game has no art polish. It’s a bunch of nice looking art but none of the art shares the same style. You have hand drawn animation clashing against pixel art that’s clashing against 3D models in a very bizarre way that just looks weirder the more you look at it.

Very good for what it is, lacking in some areas, but that can easily be fixed with new content in future updates. A very solid base and easily worth the $10 in it’s current state, can’t wait to see what the future holds for this title!

Warning: Somehow the game is not being developed anymore and the Developer appears to not give any kind of message since April.

The game was great and it was evolving with features !

But somehow on the last update is unplayable now for me, because you have no pointer to even select to start the game.

I managed to start it anyway by luck and reached a level where an invisible wall blocks me and the enemies on the other side so basically there is not even a game to play.

So I do not like to post a bad review because the game was really fun when it worked, but right now this is an alert to avoid doing discovering this dissapointment and refund.

Dungeon Core

Dungeon Core

THIS GAME IS A GREAT ADVERTISEMENT FOR ROGUELIKES/ROGUELITES

Dungeon Core is in many ways like Enter The Gungeon. A cute little top down dungeon crawler with roguelike elements sprinkled in. It borrows from ETG in a few aspects with the shop and the overall feel but it does many things equal or better. Sure you could find a “super rare” gun but if its only rated D and you’ve got a weapon rated B is it worth swapping out? Then you have to think about the tech upgrades you have +10 health and +25% shot power to +50% reload time it really can be a difficult choice to make. It has kept me coming back for over 7 hours so far. (I only recently bought it) and it’ll keep me interested for many more.

Real player with 54.1 hrs in game

Decent rogue-lite with a solid foundation when it comes to gameplay and visual clarity, that being said, it takes good ideas from other games and adds nothing unique to the formula, which is fine unless you like me and looking for more innovation in the genre. I would like to see more active abilities, perhaps in a form of sub-weapons with a cooldown, right now you are limited to alternating between 2 weapons. It does not have a ton of content, but the difficulty of the last section will keep you grinding for stats. There are many temporary and permanent upgrades, granted most of them are passive or have a passive effect that triggers under certain condition, which again, is not an active ability that I can use. So far the weapons are not very exciting, while you can get the generic arsenal from pistols to lasers, I am yet to find anything that really stands out.
