ENCHAIN

ENCHAIN

You are the Last Deprived, the final corpse to ever rise from the stone depths, dooming all creation to a ceaseless death. This underworld does not welcome you. Unlock the secrets of the crypt, take back life from your fleshless brethren, and fight your own way out of humanity’s tomb.

ENCHAIN links hack & slash juggling and frenetic platforming with fast-paced retro FPS gunplay. Inspired by platform fighters and Quake, smash the undead into pieces with your lantern hook and arsenal of guns. And, with progression and verticality influenced by Dark Souls, tackle a single interconnected world chunk by chunk, retreading old paths and secrets.

Get lost in the chasm. No one will be holding your cold, hollow hands along the way.

  • Grapple, shoot, kick, and dive between platforming and combat

  • Fracture and harvest the bones of the undead for resources

  • Explore an intertwined, non-linear underworld

  • Rest at cozy lantern posts to store the fruits of your travels

  • Listen to atmospheric music by Oliver Trinidad

I have been a member of Steam for quite a few years I really do not write a lot of reviews. I do not even post that often. But this game has frustrated me to the point I feel I have no choice.

I played the game even though there were things that bothered me but for some reason it intrigued me. I mean using the same mouse click to attack with as you use to move can be a major PITA when you are trying to not eat a bosses enrage.

I have definitely yelled at my avatar a time or two begging him to move and not attack. But I played through.

This is a review from a long lost fan of the game. I play this game with my last save of Eternium on mobile, then login back with this PC version.

I played this game on mobile version since 4 years ago (counted from today’s release of early access on PC today, and the last mail i got in game that still stay). Been liking it on how it has some unique aspects like swiping and drawing sign controls, important loots were pretty easy to get like set gears and what not, cuz you can combine some gears into better version of it. All currencies can be acquired through in game, which was only gold and gems. Some upgrades may requires you to wait real time, but it was still comfy for sometime.

This is a game that’s still being worked on, that’s clear enough to see. There’s bugs and glitches galore, but that hasn’t taken away from my enjoyment of it! It’s a fun RPG with a surprisingly large map and I’ve already had hours and hours of gameplay. It’s a REALLY open world game with a lot to explore. I’m playing the free early access version, that’s likely affecting my opinion, but since it is free I think anyone should just give it a shot.

It takes some time get used to the controls on keyboard; z is jump, x is shoot, arrow keys move left or right. V is what you press to create a checkpoint; you only get 4 checkpoints, so set them carefully. Overall, the game is fun and challenging for beginners who aren’t familiar with the genre. It’s still in early access, so there’s only one level available at the moment. I look forward to playing the rest when it’s fully released.

Disclosure - I am a Cool Playtester for this game (check the credits!)

I like this. It’s my kind of game, a 2D action platformer with a sensible but punishing difficulty curve that teaches you what it wants you to do but also lets you make mistakes. Levels are short and sweet once you understand what they’re asking you to do (about 3 minutes long) and there’s lots of space for optimising your route if you like to go back for better times/scores.

The game isn’t finished yet and there’s a lot of work to do to put all of it together, but the single level at the time of this review (November 2020) is representative of the others. I do believe the developer will finish this eventually, although he will take his time in doing so.

Super Retro Fighter

Super Retro Fighter

This review is not final as the game is still in Early Access (v 0.9.7 beta at the time of the review). It may change to a positive review, depending on future changes, rebalancing and additions and I do believe that it has the potential to become a very fun game.

Super Retro Fighter is an individual stages vertizontal shmup that is intentionally designed to be frustrating. So far, it only has one mode. While it’s called Arcade Mode, it lets you select an individual stage to take on. You unlock one after another and gain upgrade points based on your performance that you can spend on extra ships, bombs and shot power. These will certainly aid you but the trial and error remains.

Really fun game. It has an 80’s retro vibe to the music which is pretty awesome.

There is 3 ships to choose from and each one is unique for different guns to accomodate different playstyles.

Some stages that can get pretty frustrating but at least you can stage select to retry same stage as often as you want.

Also, there is a system to make your ship stronger , buy more lives, etc.

Controls: It feels responsive using a gamepad.

I use a Dual Shock 4 wired with USB cable and game recognizes at a PS4 controller.

its a great game, surpised my GTX 970 works, but the card is pushing at 98% game runs smooth, tried with AI cars, co pilot, all maps seem to work, game settings work with the card i have, this game is alot like what i have on my phone except you can choose to have an open road or traffic, an idea for you is you can have the tracks react with the music, that seems to be fun, i love the idea where this is heading, a map idea you can add i like to see is as you drive you can have lights light up around the track, they ccan change colors, shapes etc. that be cool to see smthing like that react to the music you listening to with awesome trippy effects,

One of the most relaxing games I have played. The gameplay is simple, you drive on a highway and overtake other cars. Or you can play it as an idle game by removing the traffic and just enjoy the scenery while listening to the awesome soundtrack.

Heroes of Yore

Heroes of Yore

Looking for a casual way to prove dominance amongst fabled legends? I was. Ever want to make a team of mythical villains destroy the prudish icons of old? I did. Have you ever wanted Paul Bunyan to feed Grendel flapjacks?… well, me either on this one, but it is as awesome as it sounds. This game was just what I wanted! It is a casual, easy to learn, but challenging to master. I have not fully beat this game yet, but am working on it! I will slay them all!

Since this is Early Access, I am really excited to see what (or who) else the developers come up with!

Heroes of Yore is a turn-based strategy/RPG in which you put together a squad of public domain characters and fight to win in single or multiplayer mode.

The basics are straightforward, and it’s evident that the game aims to be user-friendly. You simply select four heroes from an ever-growing pool and engage in combat. On the left, your party, and on the right, the opponent. The battles are turn-based, which means that each side performs actions for all four heroes. Attacking is simple, just select the attack and choose a target. Because each hero only gets to perform one action, the order doesn’t matter. So far, everything appears to be easy.

Great mechanics, great game, it had some really good pros, but no flaws at all. Character models are just amazing, artwork is stunning and my friend was able to play with me online. 10/10
