I’ve changed my review and recommendation. Updated and original reviews below.
[Updated review]
I switched from Not Recommended to Recommended after experimenting with different audio files in Free Play mode. With lossless audio sources and synthesized tracks, it is very possible to determine key strokes based on the beats of the music. This doesn’t work as well with audio files that are too compressed, or that were taken from a lossless source that hasn’t been remastered (e.g. a non-remastered CD of music from the 1980s). I still urge the dev(s) to add the highlighting option that I mentioned in the original review. Also, the Arena Mode still needs remappable keys and a better explanation of its mechanics. However, for US$9.99, this is worth a buy.

IRA
For an Early Access Game this is pretty wholesome. What i would love to see in the future is :
-More maps/biomes ( the more the merrier, personally i think it would be wise to in the future even implement some kind of endless mode when the game/story/map is fully developed )
-New apostles ( that i see are awaiting to be introduced )
-1 more item slot 1 less bow slot for inventory
-Balances to weapons and especially the upgrade system:
If your run actually reaches Underground B2F you are 100% left with a lot of extra armor and upgrade credit you have nothing to do with, this can be fixed by allowing further upgrades of lower rarity weapons that also increases their rarity and also upgrades of higher rarity weapons

A very enjoyable experience so far. I have managed to reach Stage 3, and have really been enjoying the aggressive feel of the Apostle of Night. As a roguelike and bullet hell it has been scratching both itches. Once you get familiar to enemy patterns things start progressing much faster. Only thing I would like to see is a method to increase the effectiveness of the base bow (If there isn’t a way later). Maybe adding a passive to each Apostle to alter the base bow that needs both Stones and Fragments to upgrade.

vrAMP
This is the best VR experience I’ve had yet. I’m a very visual person, so I’ve always had a hard time getting a deep experience of music. Laying down with ambient music like Maggie Rogers or John Frusciante dancing around me is one of the most relaxing experiences I’ve ever had.
I truly look forward to how this evolves over time. There is lots of room for improvement, but this is a great start.
If anyone feels too crowded by the effects, I’d recommend laying on the floor and at the edge of your play space. Having the center area a couple of feet ahead of you is much better than being inside of it.

UPDATE: I still stand by my review…even more so now. These Devs are dedicated and actually listen to the community feedback, respond quickly, and most amazingly update often. How far this app has came from when it started have greatly surpassed my ideas and expectations.
Alot of people are over reacting about the price and amount of content of the application, but I believe its worth every cent, yes its sparse for early access but they want our feedback starting from the ground level. Here is basic functionality of what we want to make…What direction would you like to see it go, what features would you like to see added. Great job Devs it takes a lot of hard work and dedication to do these kind of things. Lets make this an awesome VR experience.

VRWorkout
I know I’ll get fitter playing this game.
What the hell is a burpee? What is this one handed push-up nonsense? Squats I’m good with, running is fine, jumping without hands above my head is great. Punching the discs is fine. The points system is mad, I couldn’t compete in a points table in this unless there’s a dad-bod mode tiered system for middle-aged e-sport leagues.
This game has taught me much about my fitness levels. 1) I’m not fit enough to complete 30 minutes inside this game with a high score. 2) it doesn’t matter, because even if I do half of what the game is asking of me, I’m still moving and that’s an improvement on sitting on my arse at the desk.

5/5! Great improvements, new features, and updated songs, thank you!
VALVE Index Users:
-
NO BURPIES! NO JUMPING, NO SHOES, SLOW TRANSITIONS B/W POSITIONS – unless your cables are suspended from above.
-
Wear the controllers like wrist watches.
-
Wash/disinfect your face gasket regularly. Steam Support recommended warm water or 15-30% alcohol wipes.
I’ve been playing this since it came out. I love this game so much that, even though I bent/broke my cable, Steam sent me a new cable and I still love this game!

NOISETUBE
NOISETUBE is a virtual reality & music visual experience. Feed it a song, space out, and be whisked away into a unique geometric journey.
Maybe you’ve encountered this feeling in real life: driving down the highway, or riding a bike, and the song you’re listening to just somehow feels perfectly in sync. NOISETUBE aims to capture this emotion of barrelling through space at just the right speed based on the intensity of the song.
NOISETUBE is powered by feeding it a music file from your computer and it generates an ever expanding tunnel for you to be shot through in space.
Melody Flight
This game, even in early access, is really great! Extremely relaxing, while still having a bit of difficulty to it. The art style is perfect for the vibe and I can’t wait to more functionality/modes/difficulties/(maybe keyboard controls)/whatever else to get added. Much needed change of pace when I’m stressed. Highly recommend!

Check out the video I made for this game, contains my experience pretty much:
Let me start this review with one thing.
It’s so nice to see a priced game in the newly released section of steam that doesn’t make me frustrated after playing it. The title screen isn’t very visually appealing and the main character gives me a chuckle with how silly he looks, but then you get to the actual gameplay and it’s there where you realize this game has a lot of potential. This is a game that, as far as I can tell, was made by one guy, probably utilizing a game creating engine of sorts but that’s besides the point.

MuX
An amazing playground for sound and music synthesis that unfortunately seems to be abandoned, lacking several critical features. Even so, if you have any interest whatsoever in music making, it’s really fun to play around and build contraptions within it.

If you’re into music and sound design you can’t miss this one, think about a VR Reaktor…
devs are active and updates are coming quite fast, they list to the community so thumbs up and full support!

Pulsen
I have been with Pulsen for quite a while, probably before it was even a thought to have it pushed to major platforms like Steam. So that is a forewarning that I have seen it develop and have helped it along in what little way I can over the years. Take that as you will.
TL;DR:
Wide variety of difficulty and styles
Varied songs, some may even be familiar
Based on Stepmania 5, polished to a shine
Many features to come to enhance experience
Details:
It has calm charts for easing in new players, up to mind-bending charts to challenge the hardcore. It supports keyboard, dance pad, and controllers, with separated scores as well. And as with most dance games, you can modify scroll speed and change other effects. You can find your exact playstyle, and tweak it on the fly.

It’s like if ITG marathons were the whole point of the game. A handful of songs don’t have scripted modifiers but most do, and they’re all really well done and even change by difficulty. Every song has at least 5 difficulties (DDR players know them as Beginner - Challenge, ITG players know Novice - Expert) and some even have a 6th Bonus difficulty. If you aren’t a fan of the modifiers there is even an option to turn them off, so fans of any kinds of four panel dance game can enoy it. But back to the original point, the mods are the point. There isn’t much in the way of stamina busting here, there’s a little tech in there like foot switching but it’s not over the top, I would say difficulty caps around ITG 12’s for the charts themselves, but the game has it’s own rating system that takes the mods into consideration. The game is made in a custom fork of StepMania, but it’s worth your money. So is the DLC. Some content creators giving away their content for free doesn’t invalidate the work put into Pulsen. You can also add your own songs to the game in a directory the game makes, which is nice. There are some small issues with some options not working right, and if you’re used to having extra modes you won’t find them. But what you do get in this package is worth playing.

Rhyme Storm
This game is easy to play but hard to master. Me and my buddy (theskinnymenace) always have a blast playing. It also activates the rhyme center in my brain and i found myself crafting my own raps in my head just for fun. The prompts and subject matter are always hilarious.

If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to freestyle rap, buy Rhyme Storm right now.

If you want to watch me embarrass myself playing Rhyme Storm, watch my video above. If you’ve never freestyled before and need to learn how, choose Freeflow Mode to get used to rapping a rhyme within the beat. Stick to the semi-randomly generated lyrics, add to them, embellish them, and learn the art of improvising. Once you’re ready, or if you want a challenge, go into Off the Dome Mode where you’re simply given the rhyme for each line. Sure, you’ll make a fool of yourself, but you’ll pick up the skills a lot quicker than you’d think.
