Source of Madness
I’ve finished all of the current content, so I think I’m in a good position to critique the game as it is currently. Overall, this game is a real gem. I’m a fan of Lovecraftian-styled games along with rogues and sidescrollers, so this game is perfect for me. The character movement and combat starts out sluggish, but once you unlock some more dashes the pace becomes faster. The developers have already addressed this in an update today that bumped up the character movement, among other improvements. However it’s still a game that favors defense, and the bullet-sponge nature of the enemies is my biggest criticism. At times it can borderline on ridiculous. Also, the second level of Act 1 feels way too long, and in my opinion, doesn’t earn its length.

Right now, I’m coming off of a sugar rush like feeling after playing 5 hours of this game. In its current state the game is fantastic.
The game checks off all the boxes for a wide variety of gamers.
SoulsLike - Check
Metroidvania - Check
Action / RPG - Check
Platformer - Check
Gorgeous Game - Check
Horror - Check
True Lovecraft Monsters - Check
Just a geek that needs to collect a game with very unique design mechanics - Check
I could go on. I’m a huge fan of SoulsLike and Metroidvania games. Throw in the Roguelite concept where both the environment and your enemies are never the same is fantastic. The use of neural network AI to create the enemies is mind bendingly genius.

The game is pretty playable, if you wanna play an mix of puzzle and horror. This game is %100 better than other usual horror games. I hope the developer will continue his progress with the game.

At the Mountains of Madness
I’m a huge H. P. Lovecraft fan and love to get into anything related to his world. I’m sorry but this game is terrible. The graphics are sub-standard but I could get past that if the story were engaging. Admittedly, I’m only about an hour in, but the story is extremely vague, not in the good, Lovecraftian way. Madness!
The voice actors are fairly inept and are made worse by trying to create some sort of unique 20’s French gangster accent and failing, mostly while reciting very awkward and confusing dialogue. The quotes from Lovecraft are left for you to read as they fly by. Madness!

This game drove me to the Mountains of Madness, but not in the way the title would suggest:
Game was in progress, and needed major improvements. I showed some screenshots to confirm the horrendousness… That alone should confirm how little care was put into creating this game, and making it playable and fun for all. The screenshots are still around in my library; at least the ones I didn’t delete.
We were curating the game, and tried to give constructive criticism instead of writing any bad reviews if possible. Group is kind of disbanded now, so I’m throwing this out there. Developer “took my key through Steam” a year or so ago, since I would not write a positive review, I am assuming.

Sacrifice Your Friends
Basically, this is the mechanics of overcooked mixed with the gameplay ideas of Gang Beasts. It super fun to dash around use and throw the weapons, some weapons are a little more useful than others, but they are all counterable. It controls well. A bunch of cool little stuff to unlock, like hats and characters, a bunch of different powerful gods to play, all with different gameplay styles. A whole bunch of beautifully designed maps/artwork, and a whole bunch of other stuff to explore. A great and simple versus game that is definitely worth picking up.

This is an amazingly fun item-arena brawler. The closest games I would compare it to are the Bomberman series and Killer Queen Black.
Your character avatar has no impact on your move set, which consists of punching, grabbing/activating an item, and throwing an item. Your associated Ancient One cult (Cthulhu, Dagon, and Nyarlathotep right now) does have a slightly altered move set, which are fitting for the time-limited avatar transformations (similar to a Smash Bros. Smash Ball). The game moves at such a frantic, hilariously fast and fun pace that it doesn’t need more than this.

The Victorian style really caught my eye the monsters seem decent and the game play looks compelling, its really nice to see so many indie game devs these days breathing fresh air in an otherwise stale market, keep up the good work

The VA is good. [Early Access: Quality will vary]

Some Arkham Cycle references, unsure of their connection to the Black Sun or the story, are pretty vague—more vague than your normal Lovecraftian fiction.

Nazi Occultism is an odd choice, yet interesting. Remind me of Raiders of the Ark, such a great film.

The puzzles are straightforward. Interactive elements similar to The Room Series, but it’s done by the right stick and navigated by the left stick.

Kharon’s Crypt - Even Death May Die
This game is genuinely good and deserves all the attention. Whether you’re an old-school lover or you’re new to the genre and style, this game will surprise you. The team has worked very hard on the game and the result is a good game.
It will be out of early access when the devs are sure there are no catastrophic bugs or crashes. It will also come out on Switch!
The game itself is very inspired in old gameboy dungeon crawler titles and while it might feel difficult at first glance once you get used to the mechanics and controls it’s not that difficult. I believe everyone should give it an honest try!

The game is really fun and challenging, the music is awesome and it gives og the perfect vibe. The lore is suprisingly detailed and it’s worth reading it all.
! I think it’s a little funny, that you see a cute slime, and then the necronomicon says it’s human pulp.

Nevermore: The Chamber Door
In the poem The Raven by Edgar Allan Poe, the narrator is faced with a creature that enters his room and remains on the bust of Athena, goddess of wisdom, thus placing himself above reason and logic. The crow speaks only one word, “Nevermore”, which the narrator interprets in different ways to answer his own questions.
In THE CHAMBER DOOR something similar happens, but before Athena a door opens, a portal to another world of creatures and demons of nightmares. While the dark-feathered raven contrasts with the marble of Athena, of light and darkness, life and death, our hero is taken by something above reason, making him enter that door with the certainty of the unknown.
THE CHAMBER DOOR is a game of introduction to the NEVERMORE universe. You will be introduced to fluid combat mechanics and endless possibilities. Aggressiveness and agility is the basis of combat, you will be rewarded in a combos ranking system where your variety of blows is your greatest weapon, but beware, NEVERMORE contains dangerous creatures and any mistake can be your last.
As you progress through the game, you’ll craft exclusive mirror cards to build your character according to your combat style. Each card can bring new abilities, new mechanics or even improve your stats.
When passing through the CHAMBER DOOR you will face hordes of varied enemies in an arena system, at the end of each level you find a passage to proceed to the next one. As you defeat these hordes, you will eventually come across more powerful entities and stronger bosses.
If you fail and get defeated, you will return to the first level, however, in a roguelike system, you keep the souls you captured in your last adventure to evolve your charms through the statue of Athena, thus becoming stronger and more prepared to advance further more on your next try.

The game’s pretty great and gets really fun with its art/style. The modding community’s pretty alright as well! I had almost gotten to most of the in-game achievements but recently had to restart due to replacing a hard drive, still going to play through it again! Love this game.
P.S. OH BABY YEAH WE HEARD FROM THE DEV!
