Punch Planet - Early Access

(Updated review 12/22/2020)

Where do I start……. THIS GAME IS AWESOME! I hardly have anything negative to say about this game. If you enjoy 2D style fighting games, with tons of defensive mechanics and solid gameplay, you WILL enjoy Punch Planet!

Gameplay: 10/10 This game has super responsive controls, unlike fighting games ive played recently. There is no input delay, it just feels really good to play. The gameplay is very deep and intuitive, giving each player an array of customization in they’re fighting style with each character. I’ve played this game for 792 hours and have yet to run into two people who play a character the same way.

I did a good amount of research on this game before I decided to buy it and from what I was extensive combos that require accurate input but not impossible to do, well what I got was completely different. I haven’t seen anything on the recent patch so I fear the game may have died.

In the YT videos I saw combo strings were incredibly fluid and very areil nd juggle based. Upon gameplay, well, the gravity is much higher and only Heavy hits and certain specials actually stun long enough for you to complete a ground to air combo or an air to ground combo. I’ve only been playing for about an hour or so, but I hope this game hasnt died. The online lobbies are entirely empty and its just odd to see that this game would be passed over because it does have a very high amount of potentil to rock with the big wig games.

Colossal Kaiju Combat™: Kaijuland Battles

Now, I have a long history of loving Godzilla and its series whether it is the movies, or the videogames. The Godzilla Unleashed producer Simon Strange decided to bring back the feeling of the games by making his own version of a monster fighting game, bringing back all the mechanics from Godzilla Save the Earth, and the feeling of being a monster in a free-for-all or 2v2 fight. The game is in Alpha which means its still being produced, so a few bugs and a lack of content will probably be noticed throughout your gameplay. There is only one map to play on as of now, a total of only 4 playable characters, single player is pretty ideal since you do in fact need other controllers to play the game with friends, and I cannot speak about its online mode and my experience since literally nobody plays online. Aside from those things, as a Godzilla fan, I choose not to care about those things, because knowing the creator of this game and the fan base Godzilla has now and days, this game will be huge to all Godzilla and Kaiju fans when it is finally finished. I recommend to buy it now, and stick with it no matter how long the project takes. They already added a Workshop page to it, so it tells you that they must be making progress :)

Colossal Kaiju Combat Early Access Review

I will preface my review of CKC by stating that I am a huge fan of fighting games and kaiju, but this game is easily accessible to people who are not familiar with either. This review will not touch on much, since the game will always be a WIP.

VISUALS

The game’s four monsters are mostly simple in design. You have a hammerhead shark, a radioactive dino and it’s robotic doppleganger, and then a fire-stone tiki golem. Each one looks pretty good, if you are looking for hyper realistic visuals, that is not the goal of this game. The characters are thoughtfully designed to show off their unique personalities and origin, and this comes through in their animations (which are updated quite regularly around community feedback).

The Chaos Gene

so ive played a couple lab sessions with this game and on the edge of finding a infinite with july using his rapid jab launcher but i don’t really like the characters jump height(universal) i dislike two of the characters dashes because of the absurdly long recovery and start up times. i don’t really know how much love is in this project yet but i will say save veronica and july’s movement.

I’m loving the graphic quality on the stages and the characters. The gameplay reminded me of old school fighting games, but with a higher quality feel to the look and style. I’m definitely looking forward to seeing how this game evolves!

Cube Conflict

Cube Conflict

Cube Conflict is a free and open-source FPS where smileys are at war without mercy.

  • 20 weapons from the most rotten to the most cheated!

  • 15 stupid classes to play, from the kamikaze to the junkie or the ninja!

  • 6 themed maps, from the moon with reduced gravity to the volcano and its molten lava

  • Dozens of possibilities to customize your avatar with capes, graves, smileys, etc.

  • 100% free, all skins can be unlocked while playing!

Weapons you said?

Little guns are for kiddies. Nothing like a portable GAU-8, a little bit of atomic bomb, and a rocket minigun!

Class system

Doctor, Soldier? For newbies. No doubt you would rather be a Kamikaze to blow yourself up and kill all the enemies around you or even a wizard to cast magic spells!

Useful(?) items

Ok, you can die fast, but you should be able to escape death with one power armor and multiple drugs!

Maps (for real!)

Incredible there are maps on this game! So, everyone knows rocket jump right? Well, try it on the moon.

A lot of skins

You can look like a badass… or an idiot. But mostly an idiot. Since you’re gonna die (a lot) we added different graves! Like a nice poop for the noobs and gold ingots for the richest players.

To be honest when I first saw this game I ignored it but After a while when I was looking for FTP games I found this again and decided to give it a try with some of my friends and boy did I have a blast I’ve been playing it for a while now and this game is a great way to just sit back and enjoy a fighting game rather than having to go full try hard but not just that it’s also great to play with friends especially if you want to take your anger out on them by beating the crap out of them it’s honestly really fun and people should try it out more

You ignorant children whining about the bugs are spoiled little brats…… its a beta people…. bound to have bugs and will…. OUR job is to help by letting them know so they can fix it quick and move forward with content or whatever…… you ignorant children are giving negative reviews for no reason in my opinion. I spotted two bugs …. sent it in to the devs within an hour it was adjusted and or fixed. So learn to do reviews properly and with dignity, because you look foolish. GREAT GAME SO FAR DEVS KEEP IT UP!

KnightOut

KnightOut

Best early access game to invite others over to play after COVID 19 pandemic!

I haven’t been able to find a game online; however, Discord server is active and devs can help find players to play via steam. You can also PM if you’d like to play.

If you have kids and know what you are doing, you can go 2 v 1… 3 v 1 is a bit tricky. Devs are active on their discord and have stated to change respawn times later.

Bugs at the moment are not that bad, but yes, it’s early access.

In any case, it’s great for a KnightOut with friends or your kids locally. Just wear masks, wash your hands and game controllers.

The game has friendly fire in co-op. Which makes the experience a joke. The coins disappear extremely fast and seem to determine how many stars you get. There’s also gated progression which requires a set number of stars per map to progress. Not a very casuals experience for some local co-op.

There’s also the problem when the game zooms out the entire screen is one big BLUR.
