Atramentum VR

Atramentum VR

A VR horror experiance for 2 dollars? This could have been anything. A non interactive spooky staged play, or a scary ride, who knows. It’s actually a full on horror experience similar to The Bellows, but with more interesting puzzles and a spookier ethos. The intro scene where you steal the item to start the game was confusing, you actually have to bring it to the door. There were some small bugs in some of the scenes, but nothing too extreme. There’s alot of value here for the price! It is very impressive! You will get stuck at the wireframe challenge puzzle, it’s impossible, nobody has that kind of dexterity or stamina to do it. Like seriously, it’s impossible, so I couldn’t complete this otherwise great game.

! Has anyone seen what happens after that? You can spoil it for me, I don’t mind! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1KOC0tQYXaY

Well, this was almost a really good game, completely marred by a terrible puzzle near (I think) the end. You have to pass a green square over black pipes without touching the edges. This is an awful thing in VR. I’m not at all convinced I’m actually touching the edges, yet I fail over and over again. I thought maybe my hands were too shakey so I asked my nimble kids to try it, and they couldn’t do it either. It’s too bad. Prior to that point, this was a well done game (other than a pretty big bug at the beginning where the game you’re supposed to steal just disappears before you can get it out of the shop.)

a nice short vr escape room game. it is an upgrade to the first one. it is very enjoyable and not too complicated.

you do not need to play the first one for the story, though i do recommend it.

i have found the secret exit. i was not expecting to play the game again but i was very curious.

tip=

! absorb everything at the end :)

please do not spoil it for anyone. i recorded the game and put it on youtube but did not put the “secret” ending there to not spoil it for anyone.

This game was incredibly short, and I’m pretty sure the last puzzle is messed up a bit. I love escape rooms (real life ones) so I was excited for this in VR, but its was way too easy and rather boring compared to the real thing. If you can get it for $3 or MAYBE $5, it might be worth it for the 20-30 min of playtime, but I wish I would have saved the $10 i spent it on and did a real escape room instead.

Side note - the elevators made me a bit disoriented and nauseated, and I rarely get sick from motion sickness. So a tip if you do buy this: close your eyes when you’re on the elevator(s).

Extreme Escape

Extreme Escape

It’s do short quest, but a superb start. I think Immersion could develop the idea and make some other extreme envs in THIS game, so we could choose them from start menu. (or like dlc)

btw there is no full Valve Index support. It runs well, but finger tracking is a really good thing.

Also it will be great to add EARTH during the fall. To see that we are really going to die, it will be more atmospheric. Now there is only the sky view

Aaand the last thing - teleport is not obvious. If you indicate your controller on the place you are not allowed for teleporting, you will not see the circle. And sometimes it’s a bit confusing cause you think - it’s not working at all

Surprisingly fun and Exciting!

Gotta praise the level design! The environment is perfect for a small standing room scale setup, yet it never feels claustrophobic. being able to climb around inside and outside the aircraft in the middle of the storm is extremely immersive and thrilling! The ‘escape-room’ puzzles are brilliant; just complex enough to get your brain working, but never outlandish or frustrating (felt more like an adventure while playing).

The experience itself is rather short about 30 - 60 minutes in total, but it launches from an in-game hub/library, hinting at the fact that more experiences/missions will be added in future updates, hopefully the devs keep updating this one as it has a lot of promise!

The game looked nice so picked it up and desided to help the devs a bit by testing the game for Oculus support.

The Oculus supprt is not 100% ready yet, but prety sure it will be soon.

Liked playing the game, liked the puzzle - i’m into games that are about the puzzles and not about scaring you.

VR is a perfect media for this kind of games, making them a lot more emersive. Played some of them, think this is one of the better ones out there at the moment

WHAT’S IN THE BOX?

‘Space Panic: Room Escape’ is, unsurprisingly, another ‘escape the room’ game which is set in one room on a space station. There are various puzzles from “find element” to “rotate these rings until they fit”. The game supports Vive and Rift, and features teleporting. It took me about 2 hours with one restart due to a bug. There are no save points.

VISUALS

This is a very minimalistic game; the environment is extremely clean. There is a weird mix though between spacy elements (the environment) and old stuff (the objects, like a candle, a greek statue, rotating stone rings) which I say didn’t really fit together. The game is incredibly resource hungry (read: laggy) and you can’t really play it on higher quality settings (there are 7 in total), which is a real problem since some colored elements where the color matters are in fact hardly visible in the lower quality settings. No matter the setting, there is annoying visible aliasing.

a lot of people here cry in the comments that the game is difficult, someone even has a depression… Well go and play Sims:) it’s easy peasy over there:).

As for me I like hardcore games. Me and my friends had a lot of fun playing this game… thousands of deaths and attempts to pass the game till the end, but we made it!

can’t wait for the continuation and new modes.

I tried the single-player and multiplayer mode, the game seems to run smoothly, though I found some lagging in the multiplayer mode but it must have been because of my bad internet connection. I enjoyed playing the multiplayer mode with my friends, it was a lot of fun to find your-self and your friends dying many times in silly situations ☺.

First of all, I wanted to emphasize that the soundtrack is really awesome– a little bit dark and demonic and some sound effects are fun – for example the sound of death ☺. Check it out ☺

I think it’s a great Escape Room with good content. I’ve spent hours trying to solve some puzzles. What I didn’t know was some Puzzles had been broke or not working. That prevented me from moving along in the game. BUT, I hung in there and once the Hidden Locker Door was fixed + the Hints Station working. I had a much better time with the game and felt good solving them one by one. Even went back to try some fails to see what would happen, I enjoyed that as well!
