Dungeoneers
Very very fun. Counting the web version, I’ve put hundreds if not thousands of hours in to this game. Strategy is very important. Like backgammon, it’s still skill even with RNG. My review is mostly using the version from about a week ago. I’ll update it when I’ve spent some more time with the new version.
Pros:
Strategy is easy to learn but hard to master
Art is pretty cool
Very few bugs
It manages good variety without excessive complexity
I can’t say exactly what it is, but I really like the gameplay

A great casual hex based strategic beat em up rpg, like a classic D and D one shot campaign. Weigh the options of attacking vs. sneaking and grabbing swords, bows and shields vs. counting your potions and scrolls for the dragons. No story lines to remember, just dragons to beat up, and mummies, and trolls, and those pesky firebugs.
Run in the daily hunt against all other players, how many skeleton elbows can you collect in one run? 100? Inconceivable!
A lot of strategy in each room, should I sneak by the orcs and just grab the loot, hoping to not be spotted? Can I take out the casters and snipers before I get clobbered? Can I handle the rain of fireballs? (p.s. if you get stuck in a rain of fireballs, you are doing it wrong).

Pump-Action Captain
Alright this is the first innovative idea i have seen since minecraft. if this game was in a finished state i know id play at least one round a day. no criticism is relevant given that this is early access. Bugs are expected!! i love the fact that the environments are not claustrophobic so u dont get cheaped into a corner and mauled to death, not naming any names (caugh killing floor) i would love to see 02 restoration points or possibly the ability to buy o2 with coins (mabe u can not sure) and 5x speed would be cool 2. love the music and creepy demonic rambling, leaves you feeling like your being followed by satan. cant wait to see what the next update brings, hoping it will allow me to kill till i die from unnatural causes. thank you guys from detering from the mainstream and not trying to cater to the 12 yesr old cod fans. I WANT MORE OF THIS GAME!!!!

EDITED FROM LAST TIME PLAYING
8.5/10
This game has a few problems, but frankly, if I can still play, it is fine by me.
This is better than half the games I’ve played back in the day, and less buggy to boot! (and its only in….beta?, alpha?, EA?, I Dont F***ing Know the term!)
My only other nitpicks are:
1: I couldnt figure out the shop
2: Enemies can spawn right next to you, getting in a sneak attack before your aware FIXED (FOR ME AT LEAST) ENEMIES SEEMED UNABLE TO SPAWN WITHIN 5 METERS OF ME

Ruine
The potential of this game is incredibly strong. The art style, world and characters are making me eager to see more from this game. There’s a solid gameplay loop that’ll keep you experimenting with different builds throughout different playthroughs. Very good stuff!
Obviously, there’s a lot to improve and balance. Combat isn’t as in depth as I feel it could be. Ruins, while fun to progress through, are quite basic in level design and detail, and the game can be finished in under an hour if you know what you’re doing and/or lucky enough from the RNG loot.

Bias: I’ve playtested this game.
While my “hrs on record” do not reflect it, I’ve spent hours and hours playtesting this game - breaking it, finding bugs, dying over and over and over… and I love this game. The art, music, atmosphere, and humor all work together in creating this wonderful game world filled with intriguing NPCs and clever enemies. I am not particularly good at this type of game, but I enjoy the hell out of Ruine in spite of that. I highly recommend checking it out.
Edited to Add: The dev continues to update this game with new content - enemies, areas, treasures, equipment… Ruine just gets better and better.

Soul Shifter
It' Definitely not perfect neither a life changing game, but is fun to spent some time in the weekends playing, especially with friends. The history also has some cool points.

Cavity Busters
Cavity Busters is a rogue like in the vein of Isaac or Gungeon.
While it’s still in early access, it has a decent amount of content.
The amount of enemy and boss and mini boss you’ll encounter is good enough for now. Not that while there is multiple bosses on floor 1 and 2 (out of 6), it isn’t the case afterwards. An after taste of what might be coming down the road in term of enemy variety.
The amount of items (be it relics or diseases) is in a good spot with more being added with the first few patches. The best thing about them being that very few are just stat increase, instead you get interesting effects. This game tries it’s own take on the bad relics you can find in games like blazing beaks. While the relics are just positive effects, the disease come with both pro and cons. You can remove the cons by spending some ressources at a specific NPC (health and mint) leaving you only with the benefit. You can leave them behind at the cost of increasing the difficulty in a good number of ways. I personally find this dynamic great.

Short explanations :
Great roguelite, with a good variety of items and good ideas. If you liked Isaac, you will probably like it. Accessible for everyone on normal difficulty without being a SHMUP wizard. The hard mode isn’t a joke.
More datailed explanations :
Cavity Busters is roguelite which came as a really nice surprise.
The game has a good number of floors. It isn’t too long. You find it tooshort ? Just dig doors to add new rooms to any floor.
Then come various ennemies and upgrades. Maybe bosses lacks of variety. But after trying a bit of hard mode, I won’t complain. The few bosses I reached on hard had enough shooting patterns and as a none shmup player : I don’t want more bosses anymore.

Ephemeral Tale
Really nice game. Bought it just because of the screenshots showing the different coloured loot but instead I was surprised with good music, good gameplay, and just a really fun game. The biggest surprise was the Dark Souls type leveling and then on top of that there is some Demon’s Souls influence with teleporting to different areas and completing them. Or it felt like that at least. Throw in some Borderlands and you have something cool like this. It’s a short game but you can do more playthroughs after completing the game to look for secrets you might have missed. Give it a try.

Netherguild
Netherguild is a turn-based tactical roguelite dungeon-crawler, where you command expeditions below the earth in a desperate attempt to cure a strange plague.
Explore, camp, and fight as far as you can before heading back to resupply.
What will you discover underground?
Key Features:
Bonfires:
Construct campfires underground, rest and eat next to them. The food items you consume affect your guild members and the rest of your expedition, with passive effects, permanent changes and more!
──────────────────────────────────────────
Combat:
Learn how to defeat different enemies (and when to flee) in combat. Hitting enemies requires no RNG - so you can depend on your abilities, but watch out for tricky enemies that are immune to your strategy, unfortunate circumstances and surprises!
In Netherguild, combat is another form of resource management- how can you prevent your characters from getting hurt, or receiving harmful debuffs? When is it the right time to use a powerful ability, when should you save it for later?
──────────────────────────────────────────────────
Oddities:
Different oddities you find underground will present you with various choices that may affect your expedition and the game world at large.
────────────────────────────────────────────────
The World Above:
While you explore below, different events may happen above-ground, presenting opportunity and choice when you return from expeditions.
────────────────────────────────────
Replay Value:
Random equipment, random character backgrounds with different skills each playthrough and procedurally generated levels every time you descend underground mean that playthroughs feel different every time.
────────────────────────────────────
Additional Features:
-
Roguelite with Persistence and Story: Keep your characters at the end of each expedition (if they survive), equip them with powerful items and level them up over time. Netherguild’s story progresses the more you explore and find out about the secrets of its world.
-
Dungeon Crawling Resource Management: Powerful abilities have a limited amount of uses. Your characters have limited inventory space. What is more important? The priceless loot you bring up back to the surface, or the firewood logs that let you descend even deeper?
-
Original Game World: Netherguild may be fantasy, but don’t expect it to play by genre conventions at all; No Orcs, no Elves, and no wizards casting fireballs. Expect to find strange biospheres and denizens far underground.
-
Cute Voxel Aesthetics: Contrasted by a story with serious themes, as you face against plague and conspiracy!
-
Solo Developed: I’m always happy to get feedback, suggestions and inspiration from players. You can reach me through various channels such as my twitter, the Netherguild discord and Netherguild Steam forum. If you love Netherguild, dislike something about it, or you have a fantastic idea you think should be added to the game, please let me know! :D
Early Access: Risks, Plans and Expectations:
-
Risks: It’s possible that during development, I would run out of money and wouldn’t be able to continue full time development.
If that were to happen, I’ll take up part time or full time work and develop Netherguild in my spare time. This game will be finished as long as I’m physically able to work on it.
I’m doing everything in my power to combat this risk - for example, marketing and getting to a certain number of wishlists before release should prevent it from ever occurring - but I think it’s still important to be honest about risks like this before release.
-
Plans: Updates will happen in regular intervals; With a new update every week to three weeks. I would like to have weekly / bi-weekly updates for the most part, but of course that depends on development, with bigger changes taking longer to update, but containing more content and additions.
-
Expectations: Expect progress to be slow and steady- being a solo dev means I can’t finish the game in a year, and big updates will take time. Also, expect me to always be active on the Netherguild discord during Early Access, listening to your feedback.
