Update 5 hours in: Made to wave 450 and the grind can be felt. Also after I believe wave 250 or so the map became available and a dungeon can be selected for the cost of a key. So theres what keys are for. It starts to slow down but I travel alot for work so having it open isnt an issue to fill my hotel room nights with mindless filler. But it has me peaked still.

Alright so ive played 100 waves and I like it. The graphics are nice, its unity so its got that kinda theme going on. The lore is interesting, im not the fasted of readers but I read fairly fast and the intro story goes a smidge fast. I got the whole deal but it could be slowed down a tad. My one complaint is when going in the skill menu it doesn’t pause the game and at this moment there isnt an auto attack that ive come across yet so I kinda just skim a skill and pick it before the monsters reach my chest. Otherwise good game does exactly what it says and I haven’t found any game breaking bugs so far, which is quite refreshing for an early access game. Feel free to reach out dev Im willing to give direct critiques.

NGU INDUSTRIES

NGU INDUSTRIES

Over 100 hours spent, and while mostly enjoyed it, I’ve reached my limit of endless map adjustments and placements and replacements and nudging just to finally get positive balance. Until you buy your next upgrade … and boom. I just spent almost half an hour tweaking two maps to get positive flow for generating t1 & t2 flesh juices. After 10 minutes of enjoying zen equilibrium, I bought two upgrades and watched it all fall apart. Spent another 15 minutes to get things back into balance, but not before being forced into reducing the t1 & t2 income rates. What was the point of buying these upgrades then? Are they not supposed to improve things. Sigh.

So the game is in early access but I’m operating under the principle that that should not be treated as immunity from criticism. As it stands NGU industries has foundational flaws that make it less playable than NGU-IDLE that are unlikely to be resolved unless the game loop is significantly reworked, hence it’s a thumbs down from me. At the end of the day the game is free so you don’t have much to lose by trying it out but unless you’re crazy into Idle games I wouldn’t recommend it.

My main issue with the game is that the feedback loop is cyclic. Every feature is driven by resources you must grind from your factories (with the exception of BDSM), the main feature of the game, and every subsequent feature & upgrade you can unlock increases the production of these factories. To me this make the game quickly feel pointless, there are no real decisions for me to make other than what ratio I want to grind resources in and no mystery in what I might unlock since I know it all leads to more production. In some cases there are 1-2 extra steps in the loop “obtain resources - obtain resources faster”, for example arranging your beacons and factories in a way that optimizes production. This gives the game some much needed depth but it’s not enough. In the case of beacons I would argue that past the fifth time you balance your supply chain the process gradually starts to become infuriating (every upgrade you obtain will mess up your supply chain, with a knock-on effect on every downstream resource so you end up fiddling your factories constantly, never feeling like it’s worth it to optimize). If you’ve done it ten times you’ve done it 100, It’s just busy work and not all that well incentivised when the “reward” is that you’ll do it all over again when you can afford your next upgrade.

I’m interested in finish of this game.

A story and some characters make my interest.

But now it’s not completed.

After update at April, there is a stage that player can enter before but can’t currently.

I’ll push good button for support the development.

If the development is completed, I can sincerely push a good button!

2000s flash nostalgia I didn’t know I needed, the game memes on itself but has decent potential and is fun to play. I hope the dev continues adding content and tightens up the rough edges & UI

AdVenture Communist

AdVenture Communist

AdVenture Communist. When my gaze first fell upon this game, it was a euphoric feeling. “more great content streaming straight from the teat of hyper hippo.” i thought to my self. But alas, T’was not the case in the slightest. early game is pretty fun and enthralling, but as the game progresses you tend to notice a bit of a misbalance. I have put a (somewhat) substantial amount of time into this game, and in my time have figured out that it would take a stupid amout of time to “finish” this game. From what I can tell, there are 2 major bottlenecks, and each one restricts progression too much on its own. The first is the Comrade system. Basically, you need comrades in order to upgrade any one thing. The problem with this, is that you need far more than what is supplied to you. after my 60ish hours of playing, i have only gotten it to 89 per second, and to really progress in this game at all, you would need thousands to tens of thousands a second. To put this in perspective, i did the math: I get 89 comrades per second, the max is somewhere around 500. At my current rate of comrade production (89 per second) it would take 13582260000000000 years to get a hospital, the top tier medicine upgrade. so yeah, needs some rebalancing. The second major bottle neck is in the weapons and medicine. In the other three categories, each different thing you buy produces more of the previous thing you bought (hives make plantations which make collectives which make communes which make farmers), making growth (somewhat) exponential. This is not the case with weapons and medicine. The only things that the upgrades you buy make is weapons and medicine respectively. also, the math in some cases makes literally no sense at all. to get a field hospial you need to spend 10,000,000 ambulances. a field hospital only gets you 1.85+10 while not even 250,000 ambulances gets you 5.92E+12, which is already over 100 times what a field hospital gets you. overall, fun game, but for it to actually be playable past a certain point, it needs a serious rebalance.

Not liking this very much so far…

I appreciate this is ‘Early Access’ but even ‘Early Access’ should at least imply ‘functional.’

  • Doesn’t cloud sync/save correctly. At least I assume that’s why I lose all my workers when closing down the game and then restarting it. I kind of expect that when it crashes; but not after a deliberate shut-down. If I shut down and restart immediately, it tells me I have been offline for

The game is fun but you get all your items by mid chapter 2 and from that point it’s just about repeating the same combo over and over and over again. I got bored of it by chapter 4 but according to the steam page there is a total of 7 chapters which I find to be a bit strange because I have already nearly maxed out my character.

Not a bad little time waster, everything works fine and fair character builds. The movement maps are hexes that have creatures to battle to get to portals for next tile set. Using back stab tactics when moving to enter a fight is good tactics, and decent skills are available and planing attacks in battle can be fun.

Darkzone: Idle RPG

Darkzone: Idle RPG

I have been playing for a long time during the alpha (before a massive overhaul of the combat happened) and when a Steam version (that also got like a 6 months alpha) happened.

When I found this game for the first time, the game was a bit clunky and the UI somewhat weird. The game was way way more simpler, we didn’t have conquest, the story was played ALWAYS as co-op (you used a second player as a bot, anyone in the range of your level), and we had a tap system to do damage, that nobody used.

Devs, in discord, listened to feedback, and with every update, some of the clunkyness was removed, some suggestions were added, things got changed, and we eventually got a massive rehauling of the combat and progression system, with levels, attribute builds, skills, and new different stats (evasion, accuracy, damage reductions… those stats didn’t exist at all before).

It’s a (mostly) auto-battler with some rpg / strategic elements that is a port from a mobile app. My sole experiences with the game have been through Steam, so this review is not based on the mobile experience. Overall, I recommend the game to players who enjoy incremental / auto-battler style games that incorporate some strategic elements.

Pros:

It’s visually appealing

The devs are exceptionally active on Discord and respond promptly to player issues. They remain positive in their player interactions regardless of ratings. When I raised an issue with my account, it was addressed quickly.
