Golf Club Wasteland
A neat little mini-golf game set in the post apocalypse. The vibes are pretty depressing, since you ARE golfing in the wasteland, but it’s easily offset by RADIO NOSTALGIA FROM MARS!!!! (There used to be a mini review here but I’m done with this game for now)
After trying out iron mode for 5-6 hours, I can confidently say that this mode is a gimmick and that the developers did not play-test this mode at all. Want proof? Check out the achievement statistics, you’ll see that the Iron mode achievement has a VERY low % of the players completing it. Clearly, this a cardinal sin of laziness, with the developers thinking that it’s okay to slap a mode like this into the game and market it but not attempt it themselves. This is a ridiculous challenge in of itself, the weakest point of the game, and you bet your ass that I’m going to give some brutally honest feedback for it.

I’m not recommending this game because the whole package is a bit of a mess, but it does has its merits.
Without talking too much about the story, it’s a bit of a mess in that when you go through and re-read it, things don’t match up or just aren’t very well told. There’s a story here, and then there’s another telling of another tiny story, and those two somewhat contradict each other a bit. The stories told on the radio are also fantastic on their own, but it paints a bit of an incongruent history that might be a bit too scathing for the things it has a bias against; to the point where it sorta ignores how the world works…but I mean, it’s a story; there’s nothing wrong with that besides making it a bit unbelieveable.

PrisonShow
The story is set in a dystopic world. Our main character is a journalist that, hate the “President” when he gives a controversial speech. She calls him an idiot and gets arrested. She is then given a chance for a better place if she can complete the contest alive. The contest is made through several stages, each stage has traps and challenges similar to ones in old platformer games. The player must memorize the patterns to complete levels. The game is hard according to testers thus we didn’t add any difficulty settings for now. In the game, some levels have timers and extra challenges. For example, if the player misses all shots, they need to restart the level.
Fumiko!
As far as platfromers go this one is quite unique and extraordinary. First off its 3D, usually we have 2D pixel platformers, but with Fumiko we have a beautiful but abstract environment.
The game looks and feels great, it handles pretty well and every minute spent ingame is a joyous one, this game really is a unique platformer well worthy of it’s price tag.
The backstory or actual story of the game is rather complex and as you play it it starts to make sense to you, first off you play as a Female A.I who doesn’t know who she is where she is or what her purpose is, and that is where a fun feature comes in, something not always present with platformer, exploration; To put it simple it’s pure fun and entertaining. our region is some form of virtual security network mainframe that we get to explore, a lot of detail and creativity went into creating the perfect atmosphere really going the extra mile to present us with a form of authentic of what it would be like to explore a system in such a sense. The music really adds to every function of the game, enhancing it and setting a tone that really just soothes you into the game.

Where to start? The art. The aesthetic. Fumiko! is at once a simplicity and a pleasure to behold. Its low-poly style conveys exactly as much as it needs to, and its vibrant colors illuminate the world in a beautiful and satisfying way.
Meanwhile, the music is always on point to convey a great sense of atmosphere. Are things chill? Got it. Panicked? Also got it. Focused? Warm? Somber? Check, check, check.
The story is revealed in bits and pieces, sometimes through collectibles called memory fragments, other times through dialogue, sometimes simply through the aesthetic of each world. It is chilling, disturbing, familiar. It conveys grand and simple ideas in their turn. It asks the hard questions. It presses us about identity, artificiality, alienation, will, and many others.

Red Man
This is a pretty fun game, I’m surprised it has no reviews. It is extremely hard though and pretty confusing. The game constantly punishes you and it’s hard to tell if you’re playing it the way it’s meant to be played. Definitely worth checking out for people who are up to a challenge.

Fantastic experience for the price from what I played so far. Clever themes and evocative of old-school games beyond just the graphics and controls. I can’t even say this game being confusing and difficult is a bad thing since it becomes part of the game’s themes and overall feel.
If you hate games where the fact that they’re unfair is “part of the point,” maybe skip this one, but for those that like to feel their games as well as play it, for the price, this game is very high quality. And be glad there’s no walkthroughs for the game - working your way through it on your own terms is one of the most fun and satisfying parts of the game.

Ministry of Broadcast
Wow. There are very few games that I will play and finish, but this one had me hooked.
Ignore the play time, it didn’t take me that long, I just left it running for a few days.
Ministry of Broadcast can be described as a platform puzzle adventure game. Graphically it’s simplistic, with pixel art, and very few options. Full screen or not. If you choose to have it not full screen, the window is tiny. Other than that, the graphics are serviceable, and in most cases, quite good. Would I like to see a higher res game? Yeah, sure, but these work and work well.

MoB was a very interesting game I played the gameplay was great but in some areas i felt that the animations or the actions Orange made were a bit slow for the challenges they gave - more specifically in areas where there was a “timer” or where whatever you on was falling. Its kinda hard to keep up with these challenges when it takes 2 or 3 whole seconds just to get up. You could make these a bit faster or maybe you could give orange i-frames aswell during these small actions. Or you could make some of these sections with a lower timer and add more thought to the section rather than reflexes like most of the game is based around. The puzzles were REALLY well made and thought out which is the biggest chunk of the game. Its usually trying to find a way around something which can be difficult or maybe easy. Even when you mess up the game is very fair with check points and if you permanently get stuck you can always reset the puzzle which is usually where your checkpoint started. I don’t recall anytime you could get stuck like that but if you did rewind is always there. The difficulty always progresses at a good pace and the game doesn’t throw you with a huge difficulty spike. The game rewards patience and looking at your surroundings as well as out of the box thinking. However while this is great for the type of game it is I felt like the puzzles and challenges never did give more than one option to do get over a puzzle or obstacle. Aside from a very small portion i feel that the game could use more than one way to solve an issue Orange has to face. Like you can still have it puzzle oriented but also reward different ways to do a puzzle. I say this because I feel like after you beat the game there isn’t much reason to go back to it other than the boots because once you know how to get through the puzzle the challenge is gone. In other games with puzzles like these like say zelda. Zeldas main focus isnt just dungeons and puzzles meaning theres way more reasons to go back to it even though the puzzles are the same. In this game the puzzles make up majority of the gameplay. Now making the challenges challenging while also adding different ways to do them is hard in of itself. So i don’t drag the game for not doing this. Im just offering ways I think it could be improved. Either way the gameplay itself is really well made and polished for their first time making a game. Now the story is a bit confusing with not much details or explanation given. But i really think that actually adds more to the atmosphere of this dystopian. Which the atmosphere is really on point. It nails it making you feel immersed. The music is hit or miss or usually quiet but for the same reason it adds a crucial part to the atmosphere so its actually a good thing for the most part. All in all for 15 bucks i’d definitely recommend this game to anyone who likes puzzles or even trying out something new. It brings a lot to offer and it really well made. You’ll have fun with this game if you puzzles or dystopian stories.

Monochroma
Okay so, I bought this game for 20€, and I really need to tell the world that it’s not worth it.
The game was pretty original, a kind of Limbo with a bit more colors. The stressful dark rainy atmosphere was good, I caught myself wanting to protect that little brother
! and being sad and worried to leave him alone at the end .
Challenging puzzles were not that much hard, but made me think a bit (even if finally, I was just dying, exploring all of the possibilities until I get the right one, so it was mostly deduction).
– Real player with 8.9 hrs in game
What an under appreciated gem this turned out to be. Monochroma is a short, highly stylized puzzle platformer and feels like what would happen if you mixed equal parts of Limbo with Brothers - A Tale of Two Sons. It’s definitely a flawed gem and comes with a small share of annoyances and problems, but gameplay is mostly solid and enjoyable and the beautiful interactive scenery is a real joy and makes this very worth seeking out.
Highlights
The thing that brings Monochroma above the level of just an average platformer is undeniably the art style. The background layers and assets marry each other fantastically and it makes for an incredibly visually appealing world. More than that though, the first level sets the tone and more than just introducing the gameplay mechanics in a subtle and fluid way, it visually prefaces the overall story and starts the first transition. The story tone defined by the visuals, and cinematic elements all compliment the game as an experience rather than just gameplay, and it never feels forced.

Creep
Creep is a 2D platform game that takes place inside a struggled person’s inner world represented as a worm world. You control the worm form of the same person as he shows why this world exists and how it’s like to live there.
I have no friends and life is full of obstacles
Yes, it is hard to say the other worms in the world are friendly, and there are lots of other dangers you will encounter. There is no one else other than you to cope with all these. Your only weapon is your wit against this crooked world until you reach the point to hell with it. This won’t just go forever like that. Your relationship with other worms will change as you progress.
I once loved too
Throughout the story, you will occasionally visit some memories or analogical mini levels with different gameplay than the main part of the game. These levels will unlock new abilities the worm can use. These abilities are not mere powers. They are part of the actual character progression itself and they will start to change the main gameplay and story.
Black The Fall
PROS
-
The game’s symbolism covers almost all of communism’s stupidity and cruelty. Death slave labour camps that killed countless innocent people, dysfunctional ghetto cities, pointless industrialization that destroyed people’s health and nature, mandatory communist rituals and propaganda - you have it all.
-
Very strong ending section of the game, perfect emotional storytelling through gameplay, powerful atmosphere.
! DON’T READ IF YOU HAVEN’T FINISHED THE GAME. One of the few games that made me cry - in fact, the only game that made me cry like a child while still pressing keys on the controller. I don’t want to get your expectations too high, though, so I’m marking this as a spoiler. But God, what a cathartic ending.

I’m a big fan of these types of games. The very first one like this I played was “Out of this World” (called Another World in Europe). It was nice to see an homage to Out of this World towards the end of this game. Overall however, this is a poor game in this genre.
- The Good -
Theme: I always love a good exaggerated portrayal of the horrors of communism.
Scenery: The 3D landscapes are beautiful.
Visual Polish: It’s there.
Puzzles: There are a decent amount of clever ones.
- The Bad -
Overall, this game lacks variety in almost every aspect.
