The General rolls up his sleeves, fixes Ivan with a steely glare and say “So… where have you been comrade? And where is my bomb?” And Ivan looks him right back in the eye and says “Well General, you might not believe what happened to me, but I’ll do my best. Because it happened like this…”

Title_Pending is a story based exploration and adventure game. Become a playtester and explore the liminal spaces of a work in progress video game to unravel the mystery behind JMC Gaming Enterprises…

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Hello, I’m Matthew Stanton, and I’m the lead developer at JMC Gaming Enterprises! You’ve been chosen from our list of applicants to play-test our new game (which as of now does not have a title).

Not only that, tech department said they made a breakthrough with a new device (they won’t clue me in but I hope it’s big). Apparently they’re going to ‘play-test’ their device the same day we play-test the game, which is strange, but whatever. Anyway, please contact me ASAP at this number: (061)219████, or you can reply to this email, and we will arrange a time for you.

Thank you!

BLIND QUEST - The Enchanted Castle

BLIND QUEST - The Enchanted Castle

An Audiogame fully playable by the visually impaired. The game is basic but enjoyable. The fights seem a little difficult right now, but hopefully will get easier with practice. The only flaw thus far is the use of Shift Tab to go back which doesn’t work as it is a Steam function. It is not a game breaker as pressing Shift will get you back, eventually, to where you need to be.

For the price you should get a decent value for money.

An enjoyable basic RPG lite game, audio is okay, don’t expect AAA and you won’t be disappointed.

Los Cops

Los Cops

Los Cops is a non-linear visual novel with point & click adventure elements in the form of a TV show about the life of aspiring actor Jeremy Jablonski, who teams up with private detective Santiago Hutchinson to save Los Angeles.

The plot of Los Cops depends entirely on your choices: what kind of relationship to build with the characters, what cases to investigate, how to deal with criminals, and what methods should be followed. You can act out the detective of your dreams or not act out at all, focusing primarily on a career in Hollywood or other delights of life. Every small victory and every bitter defeat will propel history towards unpredictable turns and endings.

Features:

  • Join the amazing adventures of private detective agency Los Cops. Play as Jeremy Jablonski and together with him understand what is more precious in life: the career of a Hollywood star, the duty of a detective to the city, or the personal life and well-being of your loved ones.

  • Each episode has its own genre, visual style and atmosphere. Enjoy classic 80s buddy movie, 40s noir detective, western, sitcom, heist film, road movie and much more!

  • Feel yourself in the shoes of a real detective with your principles and skills - collecting evidence, chases, shootings, interrogations, investigations, cooperation with gray representatives of the law, infiltration with disguise and much more. Be considerate and resourceful, but don’t get too into the role.

  • Spend time with a lot of colorful characters both on the side and on the other side of the law. Choose your friends, make enemies, build romantic relationships and just have a good time. You change with your environment and create it yourself. But remember - every decision has a consequence.

  • Face the most motley gangs in Los Angeles: from anarchist rockers to maniacs, from petty bandits to the Asian mafia. Put them in jail, bribe them for further cooperation, or become a criminal yourself. But so that no one can see.

The Los Cops story is divided into several episodes. Each of them is a separate story with a continuous storyline. The Tequila Sunrise episode is the first. Subsequent episodes will be released in paid DLC format.

Stories: Path of Destinies is an interesting game with fun, repetitive gameplay.

Stories is about a fox named Reynardo that is part of a resistance force fighting against an oppressive Emperor. Your job is to he Reynardo find the “true ending.” By doing that, you make choices on what you think might be the right one to choose, and you go into that level. There are 24 ending in the game

! (25 if you count the “true ending.") , and almost every single one are “bad endings.” If you do get a “bad ending,” you start from the beginning, and you might learn a truth (depends on what path you take).

Overview

Stories: The Path Of Destinies (SPOD) is a top-down hack’n slash adventure game set in the fantasy world of Erda, populated by anthropomorphic animals. Players impersonate Reynardo, a war veteran and airship captain with a scoundrel past. He finds himself involved with the Rebellion against emperor Isengrim III, which started obscure rituals to resurrect the Old Gods in search of ultimate power. A chain of events leads Reynardo to a potent artifact, that causes him to be stuck in a time loop always ending with his death. From there on, he needs to find a way to escape this situation, and possibly save everyone he cares about.

The Falconeer

The Falconeer

Alright, here’s the dealio, I saw this game before it was released and was instantly enamored by open world flying and dog fighting mechanics (something I’ve dabbled in before and liked). I followed it very closely until it released and bought it almost immediately when it was available. At first I used a controller to play the game, unsure if keyboard and mouse worked (my preferred method), it was a bit wonky and the controls took some time to get used to. While the game says its not keyboard and mouse supported I play it keyboard and mouse anyway, my fingers are not suited for basic controller controls so when it can be keyboard and mouse that is my go to any and every time regardless if its made for it or not. Using my preferred control system does increase my enjoy-ability to play the game (because duh I can actually PLAY the game this way).

Above the clouds, freedom must be boundless… or not, as The Falconeer shows us. Our falcon makes it only just above the clouds. Most of the time we fly either very close to the ground or at cloud height, but not much higher. That makes sense, because it’s damn cold up there and the oxygen is a bit scarce.

A Case of Distrust

A Case of Distrust

𝗔 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗻𝗼𝗶𝗿 𝗱𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗴𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗶𝗻 𝟮-𝟯 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀.

My favorite two aspects of the game were the art and the story.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝘁, 𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰, 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘆 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀' 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗼𝗼𝗱𝘀. Never did it feel like it was missing something as it definitely fit the format.

Now, the story took me by surprise. 𝗜 𝗱𝗶𝗱𝗻’𝘁 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗯𝘀𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗴𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗜’𝗱 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝘁 𝘂𝗽 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘃𝘆 𝘄𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴. Introduction

I like detective stories and video game adaptations of crime novels. It’s no secret that my favorite game of all time is LA Noire and that my nickname is a wordplay on one of Agatha Christie’s most elusive antagonists, U.N. Owen. Unknown until the appropriate moment, as any worthy mystery should be. A Case of Distrust is the Steam debut of Ben “The Wandering Ben” Wander, a gaming industry professional (not quite vetern yet) which left the AAA standard and its various limitations/pressures for the overall freedom offered by the indie scene. A wise choice, no doubt.

I can’t get out of the first area.

There isn’t anything to in said first area.

The landscape is pretty and the music is very meditative.

Definitely can’t recommend it in its current state.

Shape of America: Episode One

Shape of America: Episode One

Leaving this review because it’s the least I can do after getting this as part of a $1 bundle which is literaly a steal even for just one episode of this game. There are very few games based on politics and most tend to the statistical simulations vs the push and pull of who-you-know and who-to-help/gain future favor from horse trading that is politics (as opposed to policy) and this is the first/only game I’ve seen that does that and one that offers a pretty decent story and characters to boot. $5/episode is about the right price for the game given the current presentation level but I’d say the core game and ultimate the enjoyability of all is worth $10. This is a developer worth supporting.

Eh, it’s ok. I was able to make over a million dollars because a stock fell bellow $0, so they paid me to buy it… which was weird. Also there are tons of grammar and spelling issues, weird endless loops of possible throwdowns among other dialog issues, glitches, and strange designs that just make it feel pretty low-quality. And they canceled the future game episodes, so what they have is barely worth it because it ends right as the story gets interesting. Too bad too, it seemed like it had potential.

Songs for a Hero - Definitive Edition

Songs for a Hero - Definitive Edition

Would I recommend this game? Yes, I already have actually. However I do have some issues in regards to certain aspects of the game that personally bother me that I’d like to share. But first I would like to open up with the things that I appreciate about the game!

The Positives

The charm this game exudes is so unique

With a singing hero so to speak

Our hero’s voice oh so soothing

Every line he sings is oh so amusing

The hero’s movements are freeing

A hookshot, double jump, a way of being

Real player with 12.3 hrs in game

You ever play a game that advertises a really unique feature and go “Can this even work?” then play it and change your tune to “OH BOY THIS CAN WORK REALLY WELL” in the first hour? That’s what Songs for a Hero did to me. I’m keeping a much closer eye on Brazil in the future, because this game is a total work of heart and love for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive era of gaming.

See, Songs isn’t just trying to play on your nostalgia - it wants to be your nostalgia in the best ways possible. Not only does it sing to you in a wonderfully comedic fashion, but if you turn off the singing (which you can do if it bothers you) then you find an amazing homage to Wonder Boy and several other Sega titles layered into it. Sound effect and music design, physics and motion, and the look itself have all meshed into one of my favorite games of 2020. There were challenging points in the game, but never a point where I blamed or questioned the devs for why it was so hard.
