@Review:
In the House of Silence is a simple yet challenging Rogue-Like, with hours of content, featuring a tormenting plot of the House of Silence, the most dangerous location in The Night Land. An effort to find its dark secrets.
However, In the House of Silence, its silence feels more lonely. It is the only known video game to be inspired by Hodgson’s famed story. Hopefully, over time, we’ll see more, just like In the House of Silence.

Darkest Dungeon®
Darkest Dungeon is a game, no an Experience that stays with those who play it.
It sucks to lose your beloved hero that you spent hours upon hours building to a occultist 0 heal bleed deathblow But yknow what, you can always make another, right?
This game draws you in with its simple yet diverse combat with every enemy bringing its own deck to the table, be it stressing out your heroes or making them close to useless in a prolonged fight, every enemy has its weakness and to see one on the field and immediately say: “Oh Shit time to employ the plan” only for it to fail spectacularly and leave you scrambling and exposed as that swine skiver crit 40s your main healer and they die of a follow up attack, only to come up at the top with 2 HP on most of your dudes or dudettes can only be described as Cathartic.

If you’re like me (I pity you) then you’ve tried to play Darkest Dungeon several times only to be rebuffed by its repetitive nature and yet you can’t let it sit because you’ve sunk the cost and want to know what all the fuss is about. After poking around a bit I made a discovery, it’s not really the repetitive nature of the game that’s the problem. It’s the hideously slow speed at which the game plays.
Once you grasp the basics of Darkest Dungeon’s gameplay loop you don’t need —or want— to sit though every camera zoom or every slow hallway creep. And thanks to the power of modding magic you don’t have to. Walking speeds, combat, and even the tallies at the end of each dungeon can be sped up with a mod, thus making the game a far more tolerable experience. There’s also a mod to kill the camera zooms, though it does make combat look a bit silly.

Kharon’s Crypt - Even Death May Die
This game is genuinely good and deserves all the attention. Whether you’re an old-school lover or you’re new to the genre and style, this game will surprise you. The team has worked very hard on the game and the result is a good game.
It will be out of early access when the devs are sure there are no catastrophic bugs or crashes. It will also come out on Switch!
The game itself is very inspired in old gameboy dungeon crawler titles and while it might feel difficult at first glance once you get used to the mechanics and controls it’s not that difficult. I believe everyone should give it an honest try!

The game is really fun and challenging, the music is awesome and it gives og the perfect vibe. The lore is suprisingly detailed and it’s worth reading it all.
! I think it’s a little funny, that you see a cute slime, and then the necronomicon says it’s human pulp.

This Book Is A Dungeon
Wonderful storytelling. It feels like a mix between a text adventure and a choose-your-own-adventure book. And as a book, it definitely engages you and entices you deeper into the story.
Unfortunately, This Dungeon Is Not A Book.
I can definitely recommend this game for its story, and I’m happy about all of the endings, but there are several loose ends that need to be addressed before it’s a truly enjoyable experience. I started off really enjoying it but it got to a point where I had to push myself through the frustration in order to finish it.

I recommend this game only by the narrowest of margins.
tl;dr If you like dark stuff, and love reading, get this game. If you’re not much of a reader, your time is better spent playing something else, but definitely show this to your friends who do like reading.
The pros are:
The strange, macabre, and very dark world that you are thrust into is very interesting
The words are beautiful and truly resonate with the horrible things that they describe
The minimalist map is wonderfully helpful for when I wasn’t paying close enough to descriptions of where I was

Crawl
One of the best local multiplayer games ever made. My friends and I have played this almost every week without fail since launch - it’s that damn good. When we meet new people who claim they’re into games, we vet them on this and see if they have fun or can appreciate the depth of game mechanics. We love this game because there’s nothing like sitting shoulder to shoulder with a pal and howling with rage at a stolen kill, laughter at a horde of slimes causing a human to suddenly play a Shmup, or roars of hype when a close bossfight comes down to the wire. My short recommendation for this game is BUY IT. But now let’s get to why you should.

Oh man. Where do I begin with this game? There’s so much done right about this game that it’s very quickly becoming one of my favourite rougelikes. Let’s just dive right into the dungeon and start chopping off the pros and cons of this insanely unique and fast-paced competitive Gauntlet-inspired roguelike.
Pros:
+Fast paced couch competition. The game is super quick to pick up and just as wasy to learn, utilizing only the movement directions and two buttons.
+Most unique idea for a rogulike in a long time. The fact that AI or other friends control your ENTIRE JOURNEY is so fresh and innovative that I honestly can’t think of a game to compare it to.

Legend of Keepers: Prologue
Disclaimer: This is essentially a demo version of a game that is still being developed as of this moment. Full game has it’s own store page on steam under “Legend of Keepers: Career of a Dungeon Master”.
-
This game has Slay The Spire kind of adventure progression system which is lot of fun, addictive and still quite unique. If you enjoyed Slay the Spire odds are you will love this game.
-
Effects are really cool and feel very satisfying.
-
Core gameplay is designed very well. It’s mostly strategy with a pinch of randomness balanced quite well to give the game both depth and replayability.

CONS:
Could/should have a much clearer interface (sometimes you get 2 out of 3 identical choices for enemies with no explanations, or you get a false warning for insufficient resources for an event while you have plenty). Room order and available groups/traps for the rooms are randomized, so you get some illogical choices sometimes and I guess some people could dislike that. Somewhat heavy on old laptops, quite surprisingly (maybe a bit more choices for video settings could work).
PROS:
But yeah, the game is super good and fun, many monsters and traps to choose from, somewhat different strategies for different hero group compositions, fantastic pixel art, probably a lot more variety when the game comes out with skill trees, unlockables, more monsters and more Keepers. Will buy full game on release, probably, depending on price, but unless it’s crazy I think it will be worth it.

Immortal Darkness: Curse of The Pale King
This game is truly a hidden gem. It’s a shame that more people aren’t talking about this seemingly-unknown game. It’s been one of my favorite accidental discoveries in recent memory.
-
Wonderful handcrafted levels.
-
Enjoyable, light puzzles.
-
Fun combat

Excellent, tight controls; M+KB only at the time I played. I thought the lack of controller support would be a detriment, but I’m glad to say I didn’t miss a controller at all with this game.
The best thing I can say is that I’ve put over 100 hours into it, and I really didn’t want the game to end. However, after finding everything and playing the game as all characters, there wasn’t anything else for me to do. Perhaps more content will be released in the future.

Immortal Darkness is a hidden gem. Agreed with all the “recommended” reviewers about it being a fun RPG dungeon crawler.
Thou I would like that I can trade/sell some items ( like Spells ) I don’t need/want that take up space since I can’t “switch over” items from my bag to the chest to use what is/was in the chest ( like health ) You can’t click to use items straight from the chest, have to delete items to make space.
Everytime I save game, it has 2 file ( GDS and Backup ) So if I save 10 times I’ll end up with 20 files on my local folder.

Experienced a glitch that made me immortal (life never went down at all) after playing the game for a few hours…I went through the entire game and hit a wall…the end of a level just a few into the quest that claimed the game was still being developed and more content would be added (then it ended) .it was fun, but this glitch revealed there isn’t much content or point in unlocking the other characters if that’s all the game IS so far…I’m looking forward to not being immortal and having way more game content to experience before playing it anymore…

Lovecraft’s Untold Stories
Honestly the fact that people constantly have to try and figure out what item’s hidden properties are well past the 1 year mark of the developers saying they would provide a guide to tell us just that is sad. The fact they are releasing a sequel and still can’t manage to do what they said they would is just pathetic. The fact that when asked again to do what they already said they would, while even explaining WHY you don’t want to go to user made guides due to the lack of information in them, and still having the developers point you to exactly what you said you didn’t want to use as it is NOT useful, is just astounding. At this point I can’t really recommend it.

This is a reluctant thumbs up, because Untold Stories is good–-it just tries extremely hard to block its own shot.
To start, every element in Untold’s design conflicts. It’s a twin-stick shooter, but you’ll spend more time puzzling and backtracking than in combat. Walk speed is slow, and movement options are limited, and everything feels heavy, but enemies are fast. You need to use your weapons' rate of fire to achieve good spacing, and you need to expect to get hit. Traps are practically a blanket over the map, and you’ll constantly be spending resources to top up your paltry health and cancel out status effects. You won’t necessarily know what anything does until you experiment with it, because this game tells you very little, and this is a recurring theme: being punished super hard for not knowing better.

The Depths of Tolagal
A round of applause for the developers here! They succeeded in creating a tough as nails rougelike that challenges you measure ever step and I do mean EVERY step but (for the most part) only punished the clumsy or the uninformed. I have died several times by virtue of approaching a hallway and accidentally alerting an extra orc or two and promptly getting my teeth kicked in. I have come to realization that the tactical aspect of the game is actually a good bit deeper than rpg aspect of it. Level progression unlocks triats as opposed to a solid stat boost across the board. Many of the traits simply open up intersting opportunties which require you to adjust your playstyle in order to gain an advantage. So overall I would say this game is TACTICAL rougelike more than a classic rougelike rpg.

Beta tested before the game hit steam.
The studio may not be updating anymore, but the main dev (matt) that responded to beta reports was responsive and helpful.
Fun game, gets tough at the the second to last and last map and really makes you question what load out you wanna run in terms of skills and weapons so yes, it’s worth the price. It’s pretty fun and once the difficulty ramps up you have to think about choices even more. What skills you need, more inv space, throwing weapons, push back weapons to make the enemies waste a turn, etc..
