Stones of Sorrow
Read the store page, view the video, and you will have a good grip on the premise of this game. Now check the controls and go get those stones. You will need one for each hand to smash your blood brother’s head in properly.
Wow what a great Developer. All of my pin points below have been addressed and are no longer issues as of this past update(1.1.2) and it has been Less than a week. The movement even feels more fluid. I ran into a couple random issues… but I have screenshot them with descriptions. I’m curious to see how much gametime it will take to max out my perks :)

This game will blow your mind! Like, where else can you play a game so innovative like that? Cave paintings killing each other, a cool variety of items and, in the middle, a story well arranged and nicely told? Holy crap! You’ll say “why didn’t I play this gem before?” (ps: you’ll die a lot, but that won’t keep your hands off the controller. You’ll beg for more or, should I say, beg for gore?)
I’ve already “finished” Stones of Sorrow 4 or 5 times and now I’m in for the achievements, mainly ‘cause this state of the art item of human badassery -both the pre-historic cave art/21st game development- totally deserves it.

Runic Rampage - Action RPG
As I always start my reviews, play the game in English and don’t watch the translations. The Italian one is awful like every other one, so let’s stick with English.
This one is an action RPG with good graphics - I love them, 3D and with a view from above which allows you to see enemies and everything that surrounds you, since the fights are those of a hack ‘n’ slash and you don’t have a party, but a single dwarf XD.
Price is quite high (7€) so, get it on sale if you manage to!
The gameplay is really great and 100% joypad supported, so you have lots of combos, lots of equipment upgrades and most of all you’ll never have to deal with many sidequests or paths.. it’s a straightforward game with levels and bosses of increasing difficulty (never too hard, actually) and for a game like this to me it’s really good!

I’ve put in only an hour and a half into the game, so take this review as an estimate of what you’ll feel like after that amount of time:
PREMISE:
There isn’t a ton of storyline to this, but there’s some. You’re a dwarf fighting to find your lost brothers and (I assume) become the hero your father wanted you to be. You have to conquer four Acts, each broken up into three chapters, each of which has three maps - except for the last, which contains a boss fight. You collect gold, which seems to accrue across death (ie. no gold loss upon getting squished). You also pickup single-use powerups as well as temporary bonuses from single use statues. Finally, you also get skill points, with which to level attributes (str, agility, defense and greed)

Tallowmere
Ok, I played about 5 or 6 lives as soon as it installed then had a break to compose myself… after 30 mins or so I was like “I need to get past level 5” so I jumped back in for another frantic axe whacking rampage. Then my goal was to conquer the double digits which is when I started realising that approaching enemies with a little more tact goes a long way.
Positive thoughts so far (from a laymans perspective):
Replay value! The randomly generated levels and loot provide a different challenge each time

I’m always chasing roguelike dungeon games, even though most of them end up pretty bad. The reason I do this is because every so often, I find a game like Tallowmere!
I absolutely love this game. It’s equal parts fun and frustrating. You really learn and develop your tactics the more you play. You have to figure out the best way to use your weapons, and what weapon is the right weapon to use in any given situation, and even once you’ve learned that, you have to be careful not to get too cocky or careless, because mistakes can kill!

Eternal Return
EDIT: Have now finished. Difficult!
This game is hard as hell. I haven’t experienced any glitches or bugs in my time playing.
At the start I also was like ‘bad movement, die too quick, enemies take a million hits to die’ = poor game. All of that was wrong. I’m still not some legendary gymnast fencer, but getting experienced with hard and quick weapon swing timing plus the backstep, high jump AND LOW JUMP (‘hop’ in the controls) is game changing.
A very cool part of this game is how it enforces being spoiler free. There is virtually nothing out there on how win / find stuff / what the various choices you make do - the discussion forums on Steam are the best resource right now and they’re not very spoilery at all.

This game plays like an old school NES game– it also has the controls of one. If you’ve not gone and played an old platformer NES game recently, I would encourage you to play one to get an idea of how difficult the controls can really be on those old games. I would liken this game to the original Castlevania gameplay-wise with Dark Souls-esque theming.
This game has a very steep learning curve (cliff) and it is more (brutally) unforgiving at the beginning of the game than it is towards the end. Once you’re able to locate a few heart and stamina containers (and get a solid grasp on the controls) the game is more forgiving of minor mistakes you make. Unlocking the other primary weapon and the throwing ones also help turn the tide in your favor once you find them.
