An Adventurer’s Tale

An Adventurer’s Tale

I tend to like games where there is no clear direction what to do or how to succeed. Not sure if this was intentional or not by the dev(s) but that is how it be. So I tinkered for about 25 hours going through it twice until I figured most things out. Some bugs are present as well as mysteries if the game is 100 percent achievable. The main thing to succeed is recruit two party members ASAP from the Tavern menu, then do all quests that are not minor from the quest board and from the ladies you court. Shoot for the good ending, get strong enough to defeat the final boss at the end of 30 days, and then go for all the extras in Free mode without the time limit. In terms of lewd, there is not much content but I was playing for the game anyways, the mechanics feel like a true successor to old school games which I liked. The character models were nicely drawn though. In terms of value, around a dollar would be good value since the game is not polished enough, two dollars is fair value.

Adventurer’s Tale is a mix between Visual Novel and RPG, unlike RPG Maker Games or similar, you decide on where to go by pressing Buttons and the World Map. I like the Fighting and there is quite a big Variety of Skills and Party Members. There is also a decent Amount of Quests and Things to discover. The Art is also really good and the Translation is nearly flawless. If you are interested in this Game just for its 18+ Content then I feel like you should probably get a different Game since the few Scenes that it has are good, but not enough, for it to make sense to buy it just for those. I just finished the normal StoryMode in around 6 hours and had Fun with it and just started the Grisette Mode, where you join her Army. That should be a big enough difference to the Main Story that it will be fun for another 6 Hours for sure. Edit: the Grisette Mode is around 2 hours long

Labyrinth of Refrain: Coven of Dusk

Labyrinth of Refrain: Coven of Dusk

I don’t normally write reviews, since I don’t normally find a game that compels me to do so. But Labyrinth of Refrain: Coven of Dusk is such an unique experience that I had to write about it.

In short: please give this game a try. It’s one of my favourite dungeon crawlers with a rich and dark story to accompany it.

Labyrinth of Refrain: Coven of Dusk is a dungeon crawler game where the player controls several teams of puppets to explore the hidden secrets of the Labyrinth hidden under the town named Refrain. The player assumes the role of a soul-possessed book, The Tractatus de Monstrum, and aids the travelling crippled witch Dronya and her apprentice Luca in uncovering the secrets behind Refrain and the Labyrinth.

The game itself is fun and interesting, but this version in particular is broken and no one is providing support. I’d recommend trying a different platform.

The game crashes frequently and does not let you save while in the labyrinth, only suspend data. If you crash after loading suspended data, you will not be able to load it again and will continue from before you entered the labyrinth. This is extremely annoying and if I hadn’t been able to find a workaround I’d have quit the game for sure. At the very least 5+ hours from my playtime were me replaying sections because of crashes.

Mary Skelter: Nightmares

Mary Skelter: Nightmares

mary skelter: nightmares is a first person dungeon crawler jrpg that takes place inside of the jail, an enormous living organism that appeared out of nowhere one day and swallowed an entire city, mimicking it in the proccess. players assume the role of jack, a boy in his late teens who, after being rescued from one of the cells of the jail with his childhood friend alice, joins the dawn, a mysterious organization that aims to escape the jail.

jack, however, cannot fight the marchens, the monsters that inhabit the jail; the only ones capable of doing so are girls called blood maidens, who possess mysteryous super powers (and, like jack, are based on characters from fairy tales). alice, needless to say, is a blood maiden, as is red riding hood, the girl that rescues them at the beginning of the game; the other ones are: snow white, sleeping beauty, cinderella, rapunzel, gretel, kaguya, thumbelina and hameln.

Ayt so since I’m very close to 100% in this game I guess now is the best time to leave a review. If you were looking for a number rating It’s a 9/10 for me :)

Gameplay:

This game is a First Person Dungeon Crawling RPG. Unique things in this game include the ability to “de level” your charcters to be able to switch builds also gaining bonus skill points by doing so (or if you devolve enough you can build characters with every skill they can learn)

Each character has their own job lines that locks them into a certain range of flexibility but how you use the classes are generally up to you since you can just add skills from other jobs in the line to your current class. This kind of makes each character have their own “role” that dosent feel too restrictive at the same time. There are 10 playable characters and 5 job lines so when you get all of them you may double down on a certain job line.

Operation Abyss: New Tokyo Legacy

Operation Abyss: New Tokyo Legacy

it’s my old review in the game below here, now i changed my mind because it’s next game “Operation Babel” that don’t allow your old character to inherit. garbage designs ruined the potential game.

someone’s review here i saw just like “this is a garbage game”. no nutrition content made me angry, so I decide to review his review.

about his cons for this game:

“boring and unenganging to the point where i played this game while waiting for things in other games”

obviously he don’t know there has 2 ways and 1 new design to solve this problem:

In the near future of Tokyo hazard cases are on the rise and only an elite team of teenagers with attitude can put a stop to it. But since the Power Rangers are busy in Angel Grove, we’ll instead join up with Alice Mifune, teenage commander of the Xth (pronounced “zith”) Squad - an elite paramilitary force of magitek-enabled high school kids - to save the day!

I’ll start with the game’s good side. One thing you may know about me is that I love character customization. Give me character customization - or even better, character creation - and I can overlook almost any number of flaws in your game. It’s what attracted me to City of Heroes, Soul Calibur, Monster Hunter… hell, it’s what convinced me to stick with Etrian Odyssey until I learned to love that series on its own merits, and Etrian Odyssey’s character creation isn’t even that good.

Operation Babel: New Tokyo Legacy

english:

honestly, i am old player of “Generation Xth” series games, i never want to give you “Not Recommended on this game.

but after played this new version of “Generation Xth”, i found the bad point is not only artists are different with old version(Generation Xth).

of cause i never expect it allows players to customize their character’s portraits by themself(yes, you can use your own pictures to be your every character’s portrait in old version).

it’s other defects also not only deleted 3 advanced blood codes(SIZ, RAS, ILITH).

Set shortly after the events of Operation Abyss, a new threat - the Embryo - has appeared in the skies over Tokyo and unleashed a horror upon the city below. With Alice Mifune and her allies captured by the Embryo it’s up to the New Xth Squad to take the fight to the Embryo and save the day!

Operation Babel is a re-release of the third and final game in the Generation Xth series, Generation Xth: Code Realize, originally for the Playstation Vita. In terms of gameplay, Babel is basically everything Abyss was, only better. They fixed a lot of the problems of the first game, added a new “sub-class” system that lets you take the skills of a secondary class, and even added a new class, the Conjurer. (Side note, I feel like the Conjurer must be a mistranslation because they don’t conjure anything. They charm monsters in battle and while their spells are stated to be summons, the mechanics involved and the fact that the spell class is listed as “TRAN” implies that it’s actually transformation, not summoning. But I digress.)

I wanted some light game that I can do “mindlessly” and yuri. This game fit the criteria.

Pros:

  • The developers have been really good at responding since the game is out. That’s always set the right tone in my opinion.

  • As mentioned above chill light game (it’s nice to take a break from adrenaline pumping game)

  • Not the typical male yuri content with main focus to show naked girls with nothing else (Thank goodness!). I see ppl asking this on Discussion board. Seriously, if you want that there is plenty out there already/including in actual real life.

I am on the cusp of saying no to this game honestly, it’s described as a VN with dungeon crawling elements but honestly you will spend 90% of your time going through 8 floors of the same walls in a dungeon that honestly looks bland as all heck, no patterns to it at all, no unique textures just plain white brick, some wooden doors and later on red, blue and green ice walls that serve as a puzzle and it’s not bad actually as far as puzzles go, they got creative with it and it’s one of it’s good points the game has overall dood.

Undead Darlings ~no cure for love~

Undead Darlings ~no cure for love~

okay indie game for those who want dungeon crawl with anime girls, but expect to face several inconvenience if you want to try this. On plus side, it is unique in that there are many unique and funnily designed enemies, something rare in anime dungeon crawlers since they usually come from Japan. Different culture tropes rather than usual animal tropes(though this game also contains lots of it) can be found here, which sets this apart from translated Japanese games. Also, English VA is also more appreciable since it doesn’t have translation problem as well.

Everything of this game is a pain in the arse. From battle mechanics to map settings to gameplays, none I can enjoy casually. On top of that, completion rewards you with little to no satisfaction.

Give or take, about 70% of the dialogues are not even voiced.

Covers the lack of content by using dumb dungeon mechanics to stall progress.

On average to complete the later dungeons you’ll probably waste 3-4 hours of your life along with 50+ pitfall drops.

Doesn’t show controls, doesn’t allow change of keys. doesn’t show anything that indicates your affection with girls.

Wizardry: Labyrinth of Lost Souls

Wizardry: Labyrinth of Lost Souls

RECOMMENDED Ratings 7/10

I used to play Wizardry 1: Proving Ground of the Mad Overlord by Sir-Tech on the very first day of release. I bought the game in 5 1/4 inch diskettes in a black box with a green dragon. Inside the box, was also a pad of square paper for the player to do manual mapping.

This new game is basically Wizardry on Steroids and Gift Wrappers !! The high resolution graphics are awesome, the characters are hot and sexy, the music comfortable, and it also included many “Quality of life” improvements. The QoL improvements like auto-mapping, auto-leveling inside dungeon, fast and convenient savings, etc all make life a lot easier.

This is my first Wizardry game that I have played through. What I have learned in finally getting around to playing a Wizardry is it feels a lot like Dungeons and Dragons and required a bit of game research before making my characters. I ended up beating the game with a Lord, two Fighters, Thief, Mage, and a Bishop.

I also did a lot of class swapping even in researching things on the game to make better characters. Even with the guide and money to level up the class swaps it did take a bit of time and I over leveled on some of them not quite grasping how the spells carried over. It was a tad confusing.

Zanki Zero: Last Beginning

Zanki Zero: Last Beginning

Zanki Zero: Last Beginning is what happens when you put a visual novel, dungeon crawler, RPG mechanics, survival elements, and base building into one unique experience. After spending all this time on this game I can safely give this a recommend, however due to the unique nature of the game it won’t appeal to everyone.

The gameplay, especially combat, is one of the things that definitely will not appeal to everyone. Combat is in real time and relatively simplistic, which can make the gameplay segments of the game feel like a slog or just filler between bits of interesting story. Further into the game gives more variety to combat but for the most part you’ll be using melee attacks and charged attacks to break parts off of enemies while dodging attacks. For me, I was initially turned off by the combat but I did eventually get used to it and enjoyed it but I would highly suggest watching gameplay of the combat or (if you have a PS4) playing the demo. There are five difficulty levels in the game (I - III available initially, then IV - V are unlocked later) that scale the difficulty of combat and the survival elements of the game. Difficulty I gets rid of all enemies in dungeons and lets you one shot bosses while Difficulty V will provide a significant boost to the amount of enemies and their stats in the dungeons while providing better loot so the game does provides the option to just enjoy the story or give yourself a challenge.

Wow. Just… Wow.

I have a lot to say about this game, and 98% of it is amazing praise. Let’s jump right into it.

Let’s start with the story!

Zanki Zero: Last Beginning draws you into the story shockingly fast. From meeting your fellow party members and learning the truth behind the strange, metallic X-Keys on your stomachs, to discovering each heart-wrenching plot twist and back story, you won’t want to take a break, except to process and maybe cry a bit, something I possibly… maybe… DEFINITELY had to do. I can’t think of a single moment where the story lulled behind, and the second half of the game finds more ways to invest your attention.

Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Infinite Combate

It’s a great pleasure to meet DanMachi as a game!ヽ(=´▽'=)ノ

[1] Intro

DanMachi. Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Infinite Combate. This is an anime character game produced by Mages and published by PQube. It is based on the popular Japanese light novel. The light novel is a popular novel category, and generally refers to a novel in the form of a small plate with illustrations in Japanese manga style. Thanks to the popularity of the original work, DanMachi, an animation series was aired as well, and eventually it was also released as a game. If so, how about DanMachi in the game? Let’s take a look at it with Nyanco-chan! (ฅ’ω’ฅ)

I do have to make an important point, before getting to the meat of my review. I play Danmachi Memoria Freeze on my phone, where I’m the captain of a fairly high ranked familia in my own right, I own all the books that have been released on the U.S. side of the pond so far, and I own Seasons 1 and 2 of the anime, as well as the Sword Oratoria anime. So I will freely admit to being somewhat biased in favor of the material that was used as the base, here. That said, I don’t much care, and if a game sucks, I will say so. With that in mind, here we go…
