Only played a bit, but it reminds me of the original King’s Field game for the playstation that came out in 1995 ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King%27s_Field_II ) which I have always been nostalgic for. I really wish more games like this would come out that were a little more nuanced.

Regardless the fact this game was made by one person really impresses me. I would love to learn how he made it.

Save Your Mother

Save Your Mother

Save Your Mother, First of all, let’s start with the dungeons. The dungeons are designed lazy and no dungeon is different from the other, only the interior is different. The mechanics are just annoying, even the walking mechanics are not smooth. As for the fast battle mechanics, it annoys you more than fast, and because of these mechanics, the boss battles make it unbearable and boring. There are mini-games but it is torture because of the mechanics. Only 1 minigame isn’t bad. He also faints after a while. They put fishing and mining or something, but it’s boring. It’s a waste of time. And of course, there are duties to make us experience fishing and mining. And if you don’t do these quests, you won’t be able to progress in the game because the enemies ahead will defeat you immediately. It would be better if these items were given in a more fun way rather than mining and fishing. The story and the ending are predictable. It’s like the dialogues were written for you to fall asleep. No NPC is impressive or funny. They are completely empty, they just fill the dungeon while playing. There are also annoying bugs in hordcore mode. For example, while fighting the last boss of the game, the game suddenly closes and causes you to do everything from the beginning. This causes a terrible waste of time. Because of this bug, the game ate my 3 days. As for the positive aspects of the game, the publisher still answers your questions, but if you’re stuck in the episode, he answers it, otherwise I haven’t seen him answer other questions. The music is not bad, but while there are hundreds of games with good music and both, it is just a waste of money and time to buy this.

(Received this key via the developer to review for SteadyGiveaways. Thanks!!!)

Mother, hang on just a little longer!!!

From the creator of Lamia Must Die comes a fresh RPG experience involving a girl on a quest for an antidote for her ill mother by utilizing real-time battle tactics.

I admit that I was dissuaded from playing this after seeing the character portraits and CG scenes and learning that they were drawn by Mamabliss (who is well known for her giantess and vore works that tend to look very messy), but seeing how they work in action, I find her works to be well-suited for RPG game usage. The graphics also seem well-done and the levels have some good designs in them. The meme and pop culture references also help this game feel fresh. But what really sells this title is the gameplay and the dev’s narrative skills.

I’ve got thousands upon thousands of hours invested in ARPG’s of all types, and I absolutely love Sci-Fi. Was looking for something that hit the spot in that department. I am about 8 or 9 hours in so far and this has not disappointed at all. I’d still be playing but I gotta sleep. So I can get up and play again tomorrow!

I did receive a copy to review, but am not being compensated for my thoughts. This is my personal honest opinion.

TLDR: Would I recommend? Yeah! I enjoyed my time very much. Love the aesthetic, the unique mechanics/features but the real gem is the story!

A decent game that can still have some polish

First about what is good

Game has a great visual style, has a lot fun smaller details in environment and character designs and overall decent though very repeatable combat, interesting initial plot and character design. Also looks like devs very inspired by Hyper Light drifter =)

Then what could be improved

I really wanted to finish this game but in the second half it gets like reeeeeeally boring

! Finishing Q-Dimention I thought that the game will be over and was surprised when saw absolutely same world but now green withsame stuff to do again And one of the reasons is that there is no character development in means of items or combat abilities and the story is same as in the first half but in different decorations. I mean items should be really redesigned and rebalanced. When Void gets the weapon type that is called torpid something or somehow like that you just have to stick with it because otherwise you don’t get enough resources unless you do the extra action trying to finish the enemy with the knife every time. So the game forces you to ether play with weapon you like and experiment with other weapons or get the precious resources so you can craft the organs that brake all damn time. Same with the flaming core and some organs that helps you farm essence and give health buff when you have particular nodes equipped. Without this synergy you just won’t be able to play normally and will die so player is forced to use items from mid game because the items you get later in the game are just not worth it. The game is ether not working properly or has not that good item description because when I equipped ancient core and had max essence I didn’t see any buff to damage so I don’t know guys, please think of more informative item descriptions. The fact that there are no sound effects for character speech doesn’t add to the atmosphere of the game. It would be great if you would add some speech imitation rumble like they used to do in older 8 and 16 bit games

Wirewalk()↳

Wirewalk()↳

As an old school (S)NES RPG player I was really pleased to play this game, the gameplay feels like playing Zelda - A Link to the Past, with a Megaman like soundtrack ! The story shows a not so far future where people is even more dependent on technology in a clear criticism to our current society, I won’t do spoilers here but the jokes about this society are clever and made me laugh more than once. I felt like the game was fairly easy (maybe because I’m used to this kind of game) and made me want more, an expansion with more levels/bosses would be great. In a nutshell, entertaining with a nice message to the player.

Disclaimer, for transparency’s sake: the developer is a friend of mine however I’ll be reviewing this game as unbiased as possible.

Wirewalk is a typical Gameboy dungeon crawler adventure game in the molds of the first Zelda titles with a top-down gameplay and retro graphics.

First, the story: It is rather straightforward - you’re a girl named Rada who lives in a town suddenly plagued by a mysterious computer virus that renders technology inoperable. Fortunately, Rada knows her way around computers and has developed a program nicknamed “Wirewalk” in which she’s able to “go inside the code” to fix people’s various devices.

The Opposite of PoE!

Playing Path of Exile since 8/2011, it slowly derailed for me from hack and slash to build (or better copy) , buy , and now study bossfight phases and anounced abilities.

If you want to go back to the roots and frag some stuff 2 sec. after you logged in and dont want to plan heists or syndicates or 10 other timewasters - this may be your game for the next hours.

pro:

  • copied the right stuff from 20 other games for a unique feel

  • nice Itemsystem ( merge the stats of 2 items and upgrade items 40x 5% in Power)

This game is an ode to the original ARPG’s like the original Diablo. It’s a ton of fun and I’ve blown almost 10 hours into it already and seems like I’ve been playing for a couple hours tops. The drops are fun and even has lower level legendary and set items to loot and at just a bit over $10.00 is well worth the price. So far at early leveling I have one large tower like dungeon with

many different levels to explore and quests given in town with merchants and NPC. It’s a fun

game and I see a lot of mixed reviews. I think considering the price and the fun it’s well worth $10+

Unbalanced, slow and laggy trash.

Real player with 2.0 hrs in game

Is this a bad game? I dont think so but it feels very rough. I personally would not recommend it based on other big title souls-likes and even smaller titles. It would of course be unfair to compare it to Dark Souls but even compared to the smaller titles I just feel as though it needs more polish.

My concerns are the lack of a proper roll, the lack of keyboard support, some poor telegraphs and bit unfair enemy tracking. Biggest thing is probably ranged enemies can hit you from off screen and you’ll have no idea where they are given the fixed camera.

Amazing game. It has:

  • very malleable yet fairly easy enchanting system

  • interesting skill trees and crazy equipment powers that combined can produce builds almost breaking the game at extremes

  • awesome endgame mode that offers tons of fun

  • sweet qol features like very configurable radial loot pickup

  • otherwise has familiar structure like acts, elites, bosses, gems etc.

What’s a bit missing:

  • given the possible complexity and interconnections of builds, I’d absolutely love a proper build benchmark, like a minute recording of the actual damage you make that’s reported to you with some details.

One of the reasons I like the Steam platform so much is that it offers opportunity for development teams to release early access versions of their games.

Of course some games never get out of early access for many reasons or the dev teams take little notice of the player base that are effectively ‘testing’ EA/Alpha/beta versions and the player base walk away.

Chronicon is a perfect example of Early Access done well.

I believe the earliest version was 5 years ago.

I picked the game up back in November 2017 and looking at my Steam logs played it for just a couple of weeks.
