The Endless Adventure

something reminded me of the game soul knight, only this is the PC version with an endless passage. in general, it is not demanding on the hardware of the computer, which is very cool. for 0.24 cents, you can kill a lot of free time.

Pros: It was half a buck, game was “released” 4 days ago (8/22/2021, I’m playing it late 8/26/2021).

Maybe more content is forthcoming? I bought it because it claimed to be “Endless” (both in the game title and in the description) and tagged as Roguelike (implying starting over has some “legacy benefit” carrying over from the previous games).

Cons: (Reviewing it as I currently experience it…) It’s only 5 levels (not endless), ends without warning (“descend the 5th staircase and get a giant “GAME OVER” message, then restarts at level 1 with nothing carrying over). Gold serves no purpose (no merchants). Item values have no purpose (no merchants). Inventory space fills up quickly so you either discard items or ignore loot. Found no use for magic despite potions to raise magic and restore magic all over the place. You can’t even see your magic points (literally pointless? LOL). Every foe deals 1 damage and every attack deals 1 damage to them. Weapons and Armor levels are pointless. Also, attacking things is really odd… it’s like the game barely responds to the mouse click and the instructions don’t tell you you need to actually click on the foe - just a very awkward implementation. You get two gold keys at start which open locked doors. You never get another gold key but encounter about a dozen locked doors scattered within the levels. You only ever encounter two enemies - a rat, and a bastard skeletal archer that mercilessly sinks arrows into you as you approach, killing you very quickly early on, even after quaffing the starting pack of health increase potions.

Awesome indie game with way enough content to fit the bill. Its kinda like Pikmin except they are trapped in dungeons and you must find and rescue them.

Really loved the sound and the art-style. Dungeons are getting way harder and better later on and the boss fights are fun. It took me some time to get used to the controls tho. Exploration is great IF you figure out how the moths and the worms do work… which is not part of the tutorial :/

It’s cute but challenging and worth the money.

This is a fun little action adventure game, developed by my former colleague Andreas. It’s so cute, but challenging ‘til the last minute and the sounds are really funny, even if the little fireflies sometimes don’t behave as you want them to. But that’s the trick of the game and you’ll soon know how to handle them right in order to crack some highscores. Overall, an awesome game!

Overview

The story is about heroine trying to find a cure for an unknown disease. This game was made with RMXP. It has J-RPG Turn-Based Battle with unique Custom Script. Gameplay will mainly focus on battle enemy by using items.

Story

One upon a time there is an ever peaceful village. But one night, it’s been invaded by monsters. Bringing an unknown disease to the villager. The legend says “Meradic Herb” which growth far away can be used to cure this disease. Despise what seems to be dangerous, the heroine ultimately decides to go there to find a way to help everyone.

Features

  • Item Synergy – You need to rely on using items to perform any traditional command-based JRPG battle such as normal attack and skills. If you run out of certain items, you will be unable to perform certain actions. Twist it a bit with Tech Upgrade to come up with difference effects out of the same type of items.

  • Familiar Partner – In this game, you’re alone. But you can choose to have an A.I. Partner traveling with you. In which you can indirectly command it. You can also use cooperate action for a greater damage or ask it to stay in defend stance.

  • Defend Break – You convert half of your receiving damage to your defend command. Which you can unleash it back to your enemy while performing defend (defend quarter damage received). Your limit depends on your DEF value.

  • Guarantee Escape – Escape command in this game is guaranteed to have 100% success rate. You can opt out of battle anytime you desire.

  • Aggressive Ailment – When you use your ailment, it will always have a high success rate at 95%. While if the enemy uses it, the success rate is kept at a lower, default rate. So understanding each ailment, stocking item and using it. At the right enemy and at the right time is also an important aspect of the game. Especially in later area.

  • Difficulty Selection – Aside from Hard Mode is harder. Hard Mode requires a different approach in order to win. Due to certain structures of the game, you can’t rely on what’s work in Normal Mode.

Mad Mustache

Mad Mustache

Bad game, really bad mechanics… easy achievements tho

Real player with 0.3 hrs in game

Mad Mustache is a “template flip”, that is to say, it’s a “game” that has been produced by copying a game template from GameMaker Studio, changing a few things, then dumping the barely functional “product” on Steam as a cheap, nasty cash grab. In this case it was a GameMaker Studio template for doing a simple 2D top down single screen twin stick shooter. HotFoodGames have ripped off a number of GameMaker Studio templates, and each one is lazy, low effort, and valueless shovelware garbage.

GameMaker Studio is a very poor quality game construction kit, and results in terrible games like this one.

Plague Infection

Plague Infection

Lucky me has the dubious honour of being the first to review Plague Infection, one of the latest asset flip fake games from ImperiumGame.

Plague Infection is another GameMaker Studio asset flip from serial copy+paste infringers, ImperiumGame. All these guys do is rip off game templates and projects from the Yoyogames/GameMaker Studio store, change the name and a few cosmetic details, and try to scam people into paying for someone else’s work on Steam. They have run asset flip scams dozens of times, and this is no exception. It’s nothing but a cash grab.

It’s alright for the price it’s easy to 100% and get all the achievements on the first stage I will say the zombies spooped me a few times while misjudging how far they were/lighting my lantern. The game is incredibly repetitive though and my crippled mans decided to bring a lantern to what should have been a flash light fight. I’m not even sure how he’s holding the lantern with both hands and wheeling the wheel chair at break neck speeds breaking zombie legs like Allen Iverson wheel chair edition. I would have liked the game a whole lot more if the final level gave my dude a weapon of some sort i.e. mobilized rocket wheel chair and I got to fight a boss, but I digress it’s aiight.

This time they’ve ripped off a basic template for a 2D retro pixel top down stealth/action game where you must avoid monsters and keep a lantern lit so you can see. Asset flips and other “Fake games” (as Valve calls them) are harmful to the industry, because they pollute the marketplace and reduce the visibility and exposure needed by genuine indie developers.

The Summoner

The Summoner

This game was okay. It scratches an itch of needing a basic old school rpg experience. One thing I will give it is that you could go places out of order and see how well you fare. Everything is totally simplistic but, sometimes that is just what you need. I would recommend just because I want to support more people making these and, although simple, it was solid.

Now to give this game credit is real hard for me.

There is nothing and I mean absolut nothing special speaking for this game.

They sell it as an classic JRPG…..that is right if you turn back the time to Final Fantasy I (of course with higher resolutions).

The world is dull, towns consists of a few buildings. Everything looks just dull. The dungeons are populated with up to 2 different enemy mobs. No random encounters, non fighting outside of dungeons, enemies are visible and don’t respawn.

Leveling up is nearly useless because your party only gets 1-2 points in attributs and it looks like the enemies are leveling up too.

7th Deep

7th Deep

A simple game with some surprising depth. I t has replayability due to the number of characters you can choose ( 7) and can be combined into any team of 3 or less. There are several save slots and if you find yourself fighting monsters beyond your ability you can teleport back to a location and redo the levels for more experience. If you like this type of game I highly recommend 7th Deep, and you can’t go wrong at this price.

I have only played for a short while, but wanted to pop in and say that I am loving this game. It’s a little different than other RPGs (no blue sky in sight, nor an Inn), and I like the difference. Makes a nice change.

Anyway, I highly recommend this game for those players who want to have fun with an easier to play game.

Additional:

After having played for quite a few hours and experimented with which characters work best, I know now which my 2 favourite characters are. The first one is mad, bad, and dangerous to know, and I love him. :)
