Extreme School Driving Simulator

Extreme School Driving Simulator

The game can get addicting but also frustrating. There are levels that are really easy and then others that can take a decent while to get around. However I do feel like there should be more levels because you can complete some 1 to 5 mins and then hard levels 25mins max.

My Friend bought me this game for my b-day and i thought to myself sure i’ll play for a bit than I couldn’t stop. I hit level 13 and I meet my maker I tried everything I possibly could. The seasons changed form winter to summer and back. Finally I killed god and the devil and consumed there soul’s for power. Than only than I beat it. I thought the nightmare was over for level 14 was easy as pie BUT LEVEL 15 SAID BONJOUR BITCH. Anyway I beat level 15 and the universe could not handle my power. Now I float through out the void wondering Why? Why does my friend Hate me?

Neat little game to waste some time, I enjoyed causing some mayhem and trying to survive until the goal (it’s not always that easy). Far from perfect but enjoyable for sure for an indie title. Good job!

Wheels of Aurelia

Wheels of Aurelia

Some people complain that there’s no innovation in the AAA games anymore, just TPP loot crafting shooters with stealth elements. Well, on the other side we have Wheels of Aurelia that is trying super hard to look like nothing else, combining a racing game with visual novel. Too bad it fails at pretty much everything it tried to do.

We’re a rebelious women that doesn’t need no man, a feminist (or the one that only looks like one) that picks up another chick at the disco. Both then decide to have a long ride to France along the Via Aurelia road, having all kinds of topic to talk to - abortion, kidnappings, abortion, family issues, music, feminist movements, traditional values, abortion etc. If I’m being not clear enough, the game has a statement to make, and the year of the game isn’t random. It encapsulates two main events from 1978 that have taken place in Italy - Moro kidnapping and legalisation of abortion. Both of these topics will be pretty much on our tongues no matter where we’ll ride or what hitchhiker we take next. No matter what you’ll get ‘strong independent womyn’ vibe from the protagonist, Lella, that is as rebelious as annoying. Every once in a while you’ll have an option to pick up a topic for conversation or your passenger will ask you a question about another topic. These can then be answered in one of two ways, and it can be summarised by ‘yes’, or ‘sarcastic yes’. Many topics present no real input on the conversation, your answers will always be in the spirit of the defined character, later even called a communist. Opinions of your character will always be skewed in one way - someone said something controversial and you want to disgree? Nope, you can either agree or say something mildly controversial too. Question about abortion is a prominent example - you can say it’s either just a medical operation or it might be a traumatic experience. Other time you can say that men are no longer needed. The whole story feels like it’s been written by a raging feminist who tried to put as many leftist ideas as possible. Later in the game (as 10 minutes later) you can ditch your friend for different kind of passenger, a priest or a has-been race driver, and these conversations aren’t that bad, but first couple of runs you’ll probably keep Olga till the end and you’ll get sick of woke comments.

This is not a game. It’s a visual novel, with somewhat mature topics. (TL;DR: read the last paragraph in my review.)

If you are curious about the driving sections… They are extremely basic, they’re just a mildly interactive background scenario for dialog choices.

In this visual novel, you have the following kinds of control:

  • Pick which car you want to start with.

  • Pick one of three dialog options when asked. (Or don’t pick one, and go with the default answer.)

  • Choose between stopping to give a ride to hitchhikers.

Fast Dust

Fast Dust

So to summarize, this is a quite good, enjoyable, mostly off-road arcade racing game. In my opinion it stands just a few steps from greatness. A few tweaks here and there, would make it great, indeed.

  • The Good:

I like the graphics, the car design, the tracks, the sense of speed, the car’s dashboards, the mean and heavy sound of the engines (which sounds like chopper motorcycles), the breakable objects, the short background story is a nice touch too… its a cool and pretty solid game. Feels original. The driving feels quite nice and relaxing and I love how the developer added a lot of additional options in the controls screen such as steerring and breaking sensitivity and camera distance… a welcome feature indeed.

MiniTracks

It’s a fun game. The problem is, it freezes very often. Also, I’ve made it to the third map and the last ramp often times has you dropping out of the map completely.

Impressive for just a solo Dev!

Great fun with a group of mates! & The VR is a very cool feature and gives a cool perspective of looking over the tracks!

Clever game, great sound track…. but man…so many idiot drivers.

Don’t let the simplicity fool you about this game. It’s actually a really fun game where you control all the cars in a time loop so you have to drive your car’s path to it’s destination smartly so the cars don’t collide. Great concept and soundtrack! This game is very enjoyable and worth you time.

Roundabout

Roundabout

Roundabout is a cheesy low-budget FMV game starring a limousine driver, a mechanic, a lady in a hat, and a $40 skeleton bought off of Amazon.com with surprising entertainment value.

In Roundabout, you control a constantly rotating limousine. You play as Georgio Manos, the world’s first revolving limousine driver. Your limousine is constantly rotating at all times, which forms the core of the game’s gameplay – you know how to get from point A to point B, but your constant revolution makes your life a lot more difficult. Early on it is fairly simple, navigating your way around stationary obstacles, but as the game progresses, things get increasingly more difficult, with moving obstacles, barrels which cause you to bounce in the opposite direction after striking them, platforming (done while spinning all the while), and the odd unique gameplay challenge to make things harder.

Most of us have been gaming a super long time by now, and anyone who’s been around can tell that ideas are slowly running dry. Innovation is something more or less absent from the game industry as we see the market pump out bland shooters, uninspired retro platformers, Diablo-likes, or roguelike-likes sticking with elements they know sell while struggling to find ideas that haven’t been exhausted already. Every great once and awhile a game comes a long and changes everything capturing the hearts of players everywhere by simply presenting us with a mechanic so strange and simple yet is an absolute blast to play. A game that makes the player stop and ask “Why hasn’t anyone thought of this before?”

Barro 2020

Barro 2020

Barro 2020, likely one of the most fun arcade racing games I’ve played with friends, the controller support is great aswell! It’s a game worth giving a shot and it’ll be worth your time spent, but the real gem is in playing this game with someone else.

It’s a bit of a turnoff for some that there’s so little tracks, and it may look really simplistic aswell, which it is, but I believe in adds to the charm of it, like an old 3D flash game. I have yet to try more games from these developers as I hope they’re as fun as this one.

The Game is fine for its price its a cheap little game.

But before playing the game comfortable you have to go trough the trouble of changing the screen resolution to something ok for your monitor because the first time you start up the game it will be in 4:3 and that doesnt change until you change it and here is the second problem to navigate in the game you only use your keyboard and it doesnt even explain you how to control the game or anything so mouse support atleast in the menu and a tutorial would be something nice to have if the developer still is going to read the reviews and update the game. But now to the positive part the gameplay gets fun because of the cars being a little bit fast when playing with friends that makes it a little bit more fun to play the game. Another positive thing is that all cars and stages are unlocked (correct me if im wrong but it looks like that) something I havent seen in many racing games and even more for the price.
