My Thoughts:

What started out to be a charming game with great physics and weapon selection, soon crumbles into a looping disaster.

The game has issues and I could not even get past mission 3 without the game resetting. (See my Video)

I cannot recommend this game in it’s current state.

Amazing survival games, one of the best survival games I have ever played. 2 well-operated game modes with a very good atmosphere and immersion.

Jeux de survie incroyable, un des meilleurs jeux de survie que j’ai pu jouer. 2 modes de jeux bien exploités avec une très bonne ambiance et immersion.

Overall a pretty decent experience but I do have some feedback:

Survival Aspects: Way too easy. The cold and food and hunger were NEVER something I had to worry about. Every single house and shed is full of food and water, I actually started just randomly eating stacks of food to get inventory space (You can drop it but I do it my way ok?!) Add to that the wildlife. It’s everywhere. But NEVER a threat. I easily avoided any interaction and had no real reason to go after since every 5ft there was another supermarket in a shed. I know that balance is a part of a games development cycle, hopefully this will be tweaked because it made the entire ‘survival system’ feel pointless.

Digitizer

Digitizer

Digitizer is a Sci-Fi FPS RPG set in a post-capitalist open-world, where a constant war between factions has destroyed most of the world’s cities and left islands of Hightech fortresses surrounded by masses of poor survivors.

Pick your side and fight to support those who should survive. Fight for the Future you want as new technology rises that can preserve or destroy what is left of the old world.

This technology can give the common and poor survivors eternal life inside a simulated reality, but the price is high, they will lose their biological life. Will you support this technology, its inventor, and the city council? Or will you join the resistance and restore the old world order? The choice is yours and the Digitizer’s fate is in your hands.

The game features:

First and third-person control.

Fighting with ranged and melee weapons, and with car-mounted machine guns.

Inventory system with trade and crafting.

Branching dialogues in NPCs' conversations. Without cutscenes.

Player character customizations and clothing switching.

Stats, perks, and skills to develop as you level up.

Vehicle upgrades in workshops.

Open-world exploration, teleport, maps, and location discovery system.

UPDATED Review 4/10/2021: Wow! This is a ton of fun. I had some prior grievances with some of the choices made with gameplay that were making the game very hard to enjoy for me. I voiced my concerns in my review, and the devs (small, indie dev team) responded very quickly to address some of those concerns. The devs are very receptive to feedback and appreciate hearing from their community, and it seems like they care about their product after seeing the most recent updates.

The gameplay is a lot of fun! It’s a bit of a combo of Crazy Taxi, Quarantine, and Carmageddon with slight influences from other media as well. If you’ve played Quarantine, you’ll notice the inspiration, but trust me, the devs are working hard to make this their own game! You will find yourself driving around a crazy, chaotic, and relatively apocalyptic city with bad guys and pedestrians on the road, turrets, other cabs/vehicles, and more. You are picking up fares, some of which need to go somewhere, others want you to kill someone or blow up a vehicle, and others want you to blow up a building (similar to dropping someone off at a destination, except with more explosions!). There may be more fare types in later districts that I haven’t gotten to yet, but I am satisfied with the fare types that are already in the game.

Cool indie game! Some stuff heavily resembles Quarantine or Road Warrior, but there are some major differences. Even despite the fact that the game has some bugs, the devs update it all time - a lot of stuff was fixed in recent patches.

Pros and cons below.

PROS:

  • positive vibe;

  • unique atmosphere somewhat reminds the old Quarantine classic;

  • nice effects and gore system;

  • excellent music!

  • driving model is not that bad at all,

  • cool weapons!

CONS:

  • some missions look bland and could be a bit better;

Modiverse

Modiverse

The beta key for the final Modiverse update that includes unfinished cars is “kjmodbetatesters”

This game was dead on arrival. Let me get this out of the way, Modiverse wasn’t meant to be a scam, it was abandoned likely from fear.

The origins of this game (at least according to the creator, KillerJim) was that there was a dispute between KillerJim and the creator of Pavlov VR. What the dispute was about was never revealed, but it ended with Jim deciding to create a VR game being a direct competitor to Pavlov VR. Over the course of development, people were offered access to a closed beta for modders, but the majority of them didn’t have VR setups so the game’s direction was changed to be similar to both Pavlov and Garry’s Mod.

Still rather early on, but it has great potential with open source mods made by the developers to get creators a head start if they want to contribute to the workshop and the community.

There is still more to come and more support from the developers, now yes it seems rather empty and small now, but with growth and numbers this game can really take off.

We just need people to believe in the project and show support if they can.

Weekend Drive

Weekend Drive

This game hits the perfect margin of difficult and fun. After a while the Long road gets boring, the Final survival is challenging and fun at the same time, what i think long road needs is more variety and random events. Obviously this isn’t going to happen for a while because of there being one person working on this which is impressive, I just want to offer my opinion on this. This game is worth the buy if you want to see it grow overtime while it’s basic now, it has potential. One problem i found was balancing between the different factions while the ordinary zombie is far weaker than a normal alien, the mothership always loses to the Mega zombie i don’t know if this is intentional or not but I think it should be even. This is all just my opinion…(add a faction of bugs it would be cool ;)

Bionite: Origins

Bionite: Origins

At its current state I can’t recommend. I’ve re-downloaded when new updates were made, but sadly the game does not feel like BZ. The controls are too sophisticated (couldn’t implement the original’s?), unit AI needs a huge improvement, and many bugs just build on top of it all. Seriously though, commanding your constructor to build a guntower shouldn’t take more than 5 minutes. Bad pathfinding and controls plague a game where basic game mechanics should be a priority. Besides, 6+ years and it’s still in early access? Sorry, but donating to them was a mistake.

As others have said, this game unfortunately seems to have grinded to a halt since 2018? Developers obviously lost interest. It’s a buggy mess that is COMPLETELY unplayable at this stage; controls are wacky and nothing seems to work correctly. Don’t buy it.

I think everyone was hoping something great would come of this spiritual successor… it’s a shame. Oh well, Battlezone 98 Redux and Battlezone: Combat Commander are on Steam now at least.

EDIT in response to developer:

I fully understand that game development is very difficult, especially when starting out or with only a small team, and as such, many projects take years to develop.

cool game kinda glitchy at times sometimes when you go to complete the level there are enemy ships under the map and you cant get to them and you have to restart the game, also no ingame save feature only in the office area. graphics are so so you can more than likely play the game with integrated graphics because the graphics are very sub par.

Real player with 52.7 hrs in game

I really enjoyed playing this game. It is just great fun to play. At the risk of showing my age it has the feel of the tv series ‘The Invaders’ with Roy Thinnes. Very similar to GTA but to the developers credit made with a fraction of the budget. The ‘world’ feels expansive and there is plenty to explore. I really like being out in the desert episodes best. The controls gets a bit clunky but that sort of adds to the fun. I will love to play it again on a better PC as I had to run it in windowed mode to help sort the lag. A few patches may well sort that out. I would be delighted to find out if there is a Agent Roswell 2 on the way or a least more episodes. Good game that I know I will be loading up again sometime in the future.
