Nancy Drew®: Trail of the Twister

Nancy Drew®: Trail of the Twister

One of the weakest ND games I’ve played (I’ve played around of third of them, mostly the older titles) so it would not be one I would ever recommend to someone new to the series. It does have some bright spots though that keep me from giving it the thumbs down.

The puzzles were numerous and varied. Many were of a similar type, but there was a nice and natural progression in difficulty I didn’t really notice until far along in the game. I particularly enjoyed the camera puzzle, despite it taking me the longest to complete. The mouse trap chore/puzzle appeared a few times too many; it was one of the easier and more tedious puzzles so it was annoying that it appeared so often. The tv puzzle was nauseating and I hate it.

This game is fantastic! I didn’t even get bored once playing this game, it kept me entertained the whole way through! :) As usual, though, just about all the puzzles were too hard. Disappointed in Her Interactive’s puzzle-making again, they hardly ever come up with ones that are enjoyable :( There are 2 that are extremely fun to do, and are easy enough to figure out without the walkthrough (like when you have to catch the mice, and fix Scott’s phone) but the majority of the puzzles, were just, BLECGH!

The Mystery Of Woolley Mountain

The Mystery Of Woolley Mountain

If you are a fan of good old fashioned point and click, inventory-based adventure games, this is really one for you. It is funny, well written and has excellent graphics and voice acting. The puzzles are challenging, but not too difficult and well integrated in the story, as they should be in a true adventure game.

With all those walking simulators around, they dont make many games in this genre anymore. I think it is importent that we support developers, who still make games like this one.

So a few months ago I played “The Mystery Of Woolley Mountain” on Switch and thought it was a good little adventure game. And then one day, the developer asked if I wanted to try the Steam version and I thought that was really nice. Most of my points from the Switch version are still there such as:

-Tells you exactly what you you have to do and item hints are very clear. Like saying looks like Auto so it’s one of the keys to get him back

-As amateur as it is, I find the art style charming

-Has a final boss.

The novel about school stories, reminded me of the game Everlasting Summer, but this game has a good musical accompaniment, and two endings, so far I have passed on one.

Pictures of Life

An amusing puzzle game that really made me think. You have to line up pictures in a way that makes sense and some of the sequences are pretty difficult.

june 13, 2020 edit: difficulty settings have been removed, hints now happen by pressing ‘h’ instead of waiting 2/3/5 minutes.

pictures of life is basically a 1st-person picture-based trivia game. you’re in a room, have to take pictures out of a closet, put them on the wall and figure out what connects them, then re-arrange them in the correct order. pressing the big button on the desk verifies your answer and if it’s correct, you can move on to the next puzzle. you can guess as many times as you want, except in the annoying final chapter, which drops you back in the menu after every incorrect one.

NOTE:

Unfortunately, Steamworks has decided to inexplicably censor this 6DoF interactive VR. If you want to support queer content and voices, please let Steam know of your displeasure. And, head to Viveport to download this woman produced and directed interactive experience, part of a Peabody award winning series! https://www.viveport.com/bcbd1d54-ac06-4b2e-a393-3851e6173440

Queerskins: ARK is a 6DoF interactive virtual reality experience. Reading a diary left by the estranged son, a Catholic mother (Hadley Boyd) finds a way to transcend herself and her grief by imagining him alive and in love. With heart-wrenching performances by Michael DeBartolo and Christopher Vo in volumetric video and the storytelling potential of spatial sound, Ark allows you to enter her imagination and co-create the lovers’ intimate dance through your body position and movements. An Intel Studios Original co-produced with Cloudred.

The Attic

The viewer finds herself in a dimly lit attic bedroom, a place that seems to be stuck in time, heavy with memory. Here, you assume the passive role of an observer in a 360˚ environment. Unable to move, you can examine the memorabilia-laden surroundings and begin to get an idea of time, place and what the story might be about. Mary-Helen begins reading her son’s diary.

El Matador

As Mary-Helen begins to imagine her son’s world, you are transported to a beautiful beach at dawn. Sebastian and his lover Alex appear, like a daydream nearby in the landscape. We allow Sebastian to break the 4th wall and directly implicate you in the scene. We position you quite close to the two men, just outside their personal space as you listen to their conversation. As Mary-Helen finds freedom in her imagination, you too now have the freedom to move around the beach as the experience transforms into 6DoF.

The Memory

The scene crossfades to an abstraction of the beach. Sebastian and Alex begin an intimate dance. Depending on how you move in the space, the dancers appear to respond to your presence. The performance has been choreographed as a series of segments, each visitor sees only 5 out of possible 24 combinations within each play session. Replay it to see other potential variations, follow the blue glowing lights to hear Mary-Helen reading Sebastian’s diary entries. Raise both arms to gain a new perspective, point your arms forward to fly!

Back in the Attic

As the lovers fade away, you are now back in the attic. It is the magic hour. The room is lit with a flat, golden light, reminiscent of the light on the beach. With a return of detail and color, it feels like the room has come back to life. Mary-Helen contemplates her new found sense of self.

Note

Queerskins: ARK is a room scale experience. It can be adjusted for available space:

— Small (10’x10’ / 3x3 m)

— Medium (20’x20’ / 6x6 m) — Default

— Large (30’x30’ / 9x9 m)

Subtitles are available in English, Spanish, Italian and Polish. Subtitles can only be set at the beginning of the experience by using your controller or by pressing corresponding keys on your keyboard. Please see the experience splash screen for details.

Nancy Drew®: The White Wolf of Icicle Creek

Nancy Drew®: The White Wolf of Icicle Creek

At this point i guess i am making my way thru all the ND games. I play on JR level and this was my 9th game so far. Honestly this was a favorite of mine. IT had all the right stuff:

-multiple locations

-a few mini games, including one of my favorite food making mini games

-multiple suspects

-several changes in the plot that kept it interesting

Fox and Geese wasn’t as bad as everyone says, i found it interestingly challenging, and probably one of the more fun games that had been thoroughly game tested for inaccuracies. There is a trick to it, however, and just a quick youtube video and you get the trick of it. Honestly, it makes me love it more now knowing there is an entire set up to follow - its like the odd cousin of checkers and chess.

Once again, I have played a Nancy Drew game that has left me dissatisfied and wondering why I bothered purchasing HER interactive games.

The White Wolf of Icicle Creek is a very fun game to play, like most of the titles of Nancy Drew, however, there is one glaring problem and I have found it in almost every single Nancy Drew game. There is always a story element; side quest or puzzle that seems either near impossible to pass or takes so much of your time, energy and mental state that you simply - give up.

Django

I liked this game, and first of all look at the graphics its artistic. I was needing some hint at the starting but eventually after seeing the blossom kinda of tree ( meivazhi tree ) it was beautiful so what i did was straightly run to it. And the cut scene came. So i kinda had a idea about the tree. And the dog is fantastic, doberman is cool. Story was amazing too, the tiger scene absolutely cool. So yeah i recommend this game completely.

  • nice background music

  • cool story

  • finding the way seemed hard but after completing its cool.

Downloaded this game as the price seems less.

My RIG is I5 6GB RAM and 4GB Graphics – Game Graphics High works.

No Direct Hints in this Game. Found out each and every story screen has the hints.

Wild Natural scenario are Good

Story of the Game is great. A Dog Find way back its family through a woods parallelly Father and son conversation about the dog and their past how dog help their family made the story still interesting.

Pros:

• Interesting Story

• No Direct Hints makes the game hard (hints are in the story scenes)

Nancy Drew®: The Phantom of Venice

Nancy Drew®: The Phantom of Venice

Probably one of my favorite Nancy Drew games. Most of the puzzles, save two monstrous ones, are enjoyable and fairly straightforward to solve. The environments in this particular game are quite something to behold as well.

This game isn’t perfect, however; the characters all have promise but wind up feeling a tad underdeveloped, and the phantom himself definitely doesn’t live up to the hype. And then of course, you have the Scopa minigame. (I actually really enjoy it, but I imagine that if you don’t like it as much, it must be agonizing to have to play a minimum two games of it to progress the story.)

Real player with 20.0 hrs in game

My second Nancy Drew game since I got back to them recently after a decade. I really liked this one. It is set in Venice, Italy and really has a fantastic scenery and appeal about it. I also really liked the voice acting. The story is interesting and there is quite a few more locations and characters involved than the previous game I finished (Legend of the Crystal Skull). I went for a senior detective level this time and I must say the puzzles were great and managable and super interesting (I played Legend of the Crystal Skull on junior mode and it was probably 2x harder). There are two puzzles at the very end of the game which are super intense though. There’s a bunch of stuff I learned (from italian phrases to sending encoded messages in both binary code and chess positions to kanji characters). The game feels consistent overall and I highly recommend it. If not else just for the scopa simmulator game. That was fun as hell. I know how to play it now.
