Spare Parts: Episode 2
Such an amazing story - there’s so much heart in all of this! And such an authentic telling of a trans woman’s perspective, it’s spoken to me like no other story has. Please, please play this (but play episode 1 first, of course!)

A strong continuation from the previous episode, impressive in all regards.
The art, music and writing are all just as delightful as before. A substantially longer experience, but the pacing and overall direction of the story are very on point despite the increased length. The very tangible character development gives the experience a good sense of substance to it regardless of the actual story progression.
There’s a noticeable amount of typographical errors throughout. Although approximately one per hour of reading isn’t much to mention, they are still noticeable all the same. The introduction of one new character in particular does seem rather abrupt; as it felt like they were not foreshadowed very much in the previous episode, but maybe I’m forgetting such.

Starlight of Aeons
Negatives:
Main program is flagged as a malware by Windows Defender so you have to get around that to install this.
No full screen support
No text speed option
No framerate lock
4 hr kinetic novel with full Chinese VA (none on 3rd story, “1/30000 Days to Love” though). There are 3 stories, but the first 2 just make one story together. Good writing/narrative, characters, and art. Great soundtrack. Philosophical.

SaGa Frontier Remastered
This is a little bit late but I wanted to wait till I had more time in the game so I could give as good a review I can.
I’ll start with the cons first:
- The biggest problem with this game imo, is the lack of story. Everything feels super rushed and half baked, it feels like they were speed running when they wrote the stories. What’s there is good and the premises are cool, but it definitely is just not as good story wise as a lot of other rpgs out there (such as persona and ff games). The lack of dialogue works to the games favor in a way cause big text walls can be very boring, especially when you’re not super invested in the story anyway. If you only like games with good story I would skip this game for sure.

This game should really be the standard by which remasters are judged. I got the original on the PS1 ages ago and thoroughly enjoyed it despite its flaws. The remastered version does a lot to iron out the original flaws (the inclusion of the new journal helps immensely in keeping on track with stories and events, which was likely the biggest flaw in the original), restores tons of cut or unfinished content (big-yay here), and gives a new character to play. It also has an in-game artbook, and the ability to change the gamespeed between x1 and x3 (and tracks overworld and combat speeds separately, so if you prefer exploration at x1 and combat at x2-3, it’s got your back).

TRACHI
TRACHI is an interactive fiction game that plays similar to a visual novel. Upon starting the game, I was impressed by the minimalistic style of the opening and menu. Everything is simplistic yet looks very sharp, and you can immediately tell that a lot of effort was put into this game.
The tale starts off with an inquisition of sorts, and as you converse in this opening sequence the plot begins to unfold. The timeline bounces around as you are spoonfed piecemeal bits of information that slowly come together. I thought the use of this enhanced the storytelling and definitely kept me intrigued. Most of the characters have their own sprite art, and both the pixel and portrait art look top notch.

Kinetic Novel with some interaction.
I enjoyed the writing a lot (and I disliked writing in most VNs I’ve tried so far).
Canny use of sound-effects gives so much atmosphere. They are proof that the devs have a deep understanding of storytelling.
I stopped playing after midgame because of too many crashes and slowdown. Reason is my old pc, I guess. Should work better if you have a bit more than the minimum specs.

Warplane inc.
Even after upgrading your plane to the max, it is so difficult to complete a mission it is not even fun anymore. Stay away from this one!

Having completed the game I really struggle to recommend it. Clunky controls, weird game design, bad balance and lack of common sense - this game has it all. Most of these issues can be fixed with some polish, but I’m not sure this will ever happen.

10mg: Stroke
Very short interactive fiction. I wish it would be more emotional. Because of the short lenght, i can not say much about it. If you like that kind of games, give it a go, it is well worth the 80 cent.
Walkthough (do not watch, if you plan to play the game):

Final
If you ask “what does the Internet look like?” How do you plan to answer this question?
The usual works always like to add a layer of technology veil to the network, using all kinds of things with a sense of technology to describe the network, as if the network is very far away from us. But we are now living in the network, ah, the network for today’s people is like going home as usual. In daily life, as long as you are not related workers, you will not come into contact with code hackers and other things.
What this game wants to offer for you is a daily and warm network. The game abstracts information as shrem, compares the communication between people to a battle, and unfolds a story that belongs to netizens in the new era.
