Bor doesn’t offer anything game changing in the realm of platforming mechanics, but is still very enjoyable with enough content to back up its price.

Plenty of better indie platformers out there. THis is nothing special if it isn’t in fact a asset flip.

Dragon Mission

Dragon Mission

Has a heart of fire!

A simple but engaging action-platformer

with a rewarding score and ranking system.

A mix of Wonder Boy III and classic Castlevania.

The good

  • Everything looks adorable, great spritework

  • A superb soundtrack that gets better each stage

(It’s worth buying the soundtrack!)

  • Varied, thrilling boss battles

  • Dragon protagonist

  • Going from F- rank to S+ feels amazing

The bad

  • Most of the story had to be cut sadly

  • Quite short, but priced appropriately

Deepest Sword

Deepest Sword

Deepest Sword is a short side-scrolling 2D platformer game.

Gameplay

! You play a knight wielding a sword and need to slay the dragon. You run through a dungeon 5 times with each iteration your sword getting longer and the dungeon becoming deeper. The game plays heavily on your character’s and its swords' physics. The first playthrough will be challenging, it took me about 28 minutes, but by then you’l have gotten the hang of it. The longer the sword the heavier, slower, and harder to control it gets. Note that your character can’t jump, any altitude needs to be gained with swinging around your sword and using it somewhat as a pole in pole vault. After your first run, the real challenge begins: The 3 minutes and 30 seconds speed run achievement. (I’m stuck at 4:28.622).

Deepest Sword is a short Physics based Platformer game. It has an 8 Bit Graphics Style, which I found quite charming (admittedly I am a big 8 Bit fan).

The aim of the game is straight forward. You are a brave knight, who has to slay a menacing dragon. The knight however only has a short sword to do so. Each run the sword will get longer and the path towards the dragon more challenging. It takes 5 total runs to ultimately defeat the dragon.

The theme is pretty simple, but the gameplay got an interesting twist. Deepest Sword is a Platformer game, but you can’t jump yourself and instead have to use your sword to traverse through the levels. The sword can be used as a sort of jump bar, a lifter or as a bridge like tool. Occasionally the sword can feel a bit clunky and make the player stuck on the ground or a wall. Nonetheless, the sword and the dexterity based platforming are certainly the highlights of Deepest Sword.

Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection

Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection

Played this a lot on the Switch, and am gladly going to play it even more on PC. If you have a high tolerance for frustration and can laugh at both your own stupid mistakes and some downright mean BS the game will throw your way (mostly difficulty, but some cheap traps as well), I believe you’ll have an absolute blast playing this. It’s quite a rollercoaster of intense excitement, intense frustration and intense satisfaction.

The GnG series was always quite unique due to how well it evoked a feeling of fumbling or panic with its design and mechanics. No matter how well you know a level and how good of a plan you have, things always go very wrong very quickly, and you will be forced to quickly make some hard decisions or die. This aspect of the games was always the main source of excitement, satisfaction and humor. GnG Resurrection doubles down on this exact element and ramps it up more than any previous game in the series.

Ghosts ‘n Goblins is back and it’s harder than ever! Having played four games in this series I was convinced that I was more-than-ready to tackle its hardest difficulty (Legend) for my first playthrough, oh how wrong I was. Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection (GnGR) is best described as a remake+. It borrows heavily from the gameplay, enemies, levels, music, and more from the first two games but also contains new content that fits in with what the original games established. GnGR features four returning stages that are significantly longer and play completely differently as well as three brand new stages.

If you’re looking for a simple and casual game to help you pass the time, this would be the game for you. Not had to understand and very easy to complete all tasks. It reminded me of a game I loved to play in my iPad.

Pros:

Cute graphics

Music is pretty chillax

Simple gamplay.

Cons:

Words sometimes don’t fit in the box.

Cant play in fullscreen

Can’t adjust the music and sound volume. It’s either it’s ON or switched off entirely.

Try the first ever game that started the journey to Wizard’s Quest! This is only a sample game that was made back in 2014 in which I do not plan to complete, but it is a interesting little game to try out. This is an experimental game which features:

Quick free Turn-based combat with classic 2d graphics.

A jump button feature for some platforming.

On-the-go story-based sequences.

Minor Character interactions with bigger portraits during dialogue.

Minor environmental interactions.
