kili’s treasure finds our young hero going on a treasure hunt her mom organized to make kili feel better after losing her dog, rosco.

it’s an isometric point & click where you walk around the family’s house (starting in your bedroom, with 5 more rooms opening up as you progress), inspecting and interacting with many items, trying to put the story together and figure out what mom’s clues refer to.

Well, that did beat my expectations but it’s still below acceptable.

See, I was expecting a complete shovelware asset cash grab. Some kind of trashy dog simulator.

Surprisingly, it seems that whoever made it actually tried to put effort at making his own game. As in, he actually credits all the assets that he used. And there is a story going through a game. It’s still not a hot game, but you know.

However, just look at this, it still looks like a zero budget amateur mess. As in, the kind that you post for free on some forums or just share with friends. Or with kids. Not, you know, sell on Steam.

Played all the way through, got all the achievements, including the ones for the kitty dlc :D It’s very cute and a good picross style game– if you like those then you’ll like this, easy. My only thoughts are that it feels short, but that might honestly be because I’m pretty fast at these. A lot of my time “played” is from me pausing the game to tab away and do other stuff, lol. I hope they keep releasing dlc for it, the kitties were a cute touch! My fave is the catnip reaction. ;D Thanks!!

tl;dr:

Cute graphics, nice sound design & music, balanced difficulty, but lacks real customs levels (workshop ?), the dog playground has too few interactivity, and the levels are organised in a strange order.

More:

What I like: The colored nonogram are well designed. The dog theme fits well with the chill experience of nonograms.

What could be improved: dogs playground: the sound of the dogs are the same but with different tone. I would have prefered if they had unique barks.

What I didn’t like: It feels weird to see a 5x5 after completing a 20x20 after competing a world. I expected world 1 to be full of 5x5, world 2 10x10 etc … I don’t like the randomized nonograms, since there’s no image to discover.

Arkan: The dog adventurer

Arkan: The dog adventurer

An interesting and complex mixture of two simple genres.

Pros:

1. Pleasant graphics, animations and music.

2. Interesting gameplay.

3. Challenging difficulty.

4. Level editor.

Cons:

1. No Workshop for users-created levels.

Wishes:

1. Ultra-easy mode. In which, for example, the strength of blocks and enemies will be significantly reduced.

2. Custom levels Workshop.

My girlfriend and I played this game for a little less than an hour. We were attracted to the beautiful pixel graphics and animation, the cute dog, and the jumpy gameplay.

It plays like a platformer bullet-hell brick breaker game, which is a pretty unique idea. It controls well and the trailer represents all this very well.

Sadly for us, the game was just way too difficult. We felt like we had little control of the ball and defeating enemies just wasn’t fun. It never felt like we were being rewarded enough for completing incredibly difficult levels and even when we made it though a level by the skin of our teeth, it felt like it was just rng. Not to mention we often did it without breaking the stars required to unlock further levels. We managed about 15 levels before we had to quit, and we couldn’t really tell any difference between the easy and hard difficulty options.

Come Bye: A Sheepdog Simulator

Come Bye: A Sheepdog Simulator

A farmer’s best friend.

There’s no better feeling than working with a dog. In this quirky, casual sheepdog simulation game, you’ll experience that first hand.

Playing as the shepherd, you’ll whistle commands to your dog, Daisy, as you run to keep up.

Using the same simple commands that actual shepherds use, you’ll guide Daisy and your flock through trials, around obstacles, and away from danger.

The sheep have a mind of their own, so it’ll take everything you and Daisy have to make sure they get back to the barn safely. (Especially with the reports of abduction-happy extra-terrestrials in the area!)

Features

  • Compete in trials against the clock and score points for keeping the flock together.

  • Guide the sheep away from hazards like water, fire, and abduction-happy aliens.

  • Open and close the gates carefully–you don’t want any of the sheep to escape!

Dog Sled Saga

Dog Sled Saga

This is probably one of the most addictive games I have played recently. I first tried it at my friend’s house and immediately had to buy it. I have been playing it like a maniac since then.

So far I have enjoyed the game immensely, though that does not mean that I haven’t noticed certain pros and cons to it.

Thankfully the pros outweigh the cons. The game is a pixel game which in my case is awesome because I love pixel games. The dogs and everything is pretty detailed and with pretty darn good animations. The colors and nice and soft and don’t hurt the eyes even though the majority of the game consists of various shades of white and gray (the environment).

There’s a lot to be said about Dog Sled Saga. It might look like a silly, simple game, but there’s a lot here to sink your teeth into. It isn’t perfect and has some flaws, but it’s still worth your time.

First off, despite the presence of dogs, snow, and sleds, it doesn’t feature sledding in the traditional sense. Esentially your dogs will pull a sled, and you’re in charge of tossing them dog biscuits to keep their energy up. Throws have to be well timed as perfect throws will help boost the stamina of your dogs, and hazards will come up like high winds, trees, etc.
