Dinogotchi

Dinogotchi

Dinogotchi reminds me of all the tamagotchis I had as a child, they’re all dead… But Dinogotchi is different, the game has a nice and cute art, the music and sound effects are nice but I feel like the game in general could have a extra polish.

I recommend the game, especially for those who already had tamagotchis in their childhood or for those interested in the genre.

I am editing my review to update my opinions on the game, I will keep the original at the bottom of this for context, my biggest issues with parts of the game being unplayable is fixed so I think it’s fair and time to change this. :)

The developer of this game has done a good job at making a cute game and being open to criticism and fixing the problems. All the issues I reported were fixed really fast and it gives me a lot of hope for future updates.

The pixel art in the game is really well done, all the dinosaurs look cute and recognisable and overall really pleasant to look at. The UI is really nice and was updated recently to make the happiness, hunger and energy icons more clean which wasn’t necessary but a really nice change. The music is also very nice and cute, I enjoy it a lot, more songs would be nice but this is still good.

Jurassic Architect

Jurassic Architect

The earth has been deteriorating more and more for many years. The development of civilization has depleted most of the earth, and the sky no longer lets in as much sun as it used to. The only solution was to combine the forces of the world’s greatest powers and the construction of a portal that would allow humanity to once again move to the times of natural fertility. Unfortunately, not everyone can get there. First of all, it will be necessary to send appropriate groups of people who will build and secure the settlement in order to be able to attract more people to it over time.

When creating our settlement, we must remember to provide it with all the necessary resources. The areas from this era provide not only various rock deposits, but also ideal conditions for renewable energy sources or soil for numerous crops.

It is only up to you what kind of people you want to create a new civilization from. Qualified scientists, soldiers, mechanics, farmers - there is a job for everyone if you provide them with a roof over their heads.

This era provides plenty of essential resources, but the presence of dinosaurs is not always positive. Some of them can be harnessed to work in mining, others can be ridden or placed in arenas to the delight of the inhabitants, but you have to defend yourself against others, constantly strengthening the fortifications of your settlement.

Lead a group of colonizers and create a new civilization in the age of the dinosaurs. The fate of mankind depends only on you!

Wildlife Park 2 - Dino World

very fun game although i personally think it needs some more dinosaurs like some kind of sauropod and galimimus. also carnotaurus would be awesome! either way this game is fun and if you learn how to do it right u can go without ever feeding ur dinos! (I dont mean hacking or glitching dont do that XD)

I am most pleased with Wildlife Park 2 as i have been playing for years and i am so glad that it has come to steam and i will have many more memorable moments in the future. Simply intriguing, Fascinating and mysterious as i am still learning more about the game.

My favourite thing to do is make an ecosytem of herbivores and predators that maintain healthy populations and feed themselves , and thus continue to survive by providing a proper genetic diversity for themselves. This way i can observe how the AI reacts and responds when left with little to no contact from the user.

Jurassic World Evolution 2

Jurassic World Evolution 2

I was going to wait till after christmas to see if this was going to get better, but with down right frustrating stuff going on here, nah this needs to be done now. This is abysmally annoying compared to the first.

I’ll start off with the pros:

Paleobotany is now a part of paddock building itself, very welcome very nice. Good step up.

Automation on the park vehicles is a lot better now… for the most part.

Slightly bigger maps, though it may not seem like it where 1’s were stretched out into long thin lines, these are all most compact and lumpy.

Real player with 188.1 hrs in game

Overall I recommend this game with an asterisk which I will go into a bit.

Mechanically, the game is an overall improvement on a base level from the previous game, at least as far as the core functions of the dinosaurs, park building, and pinning down what your guests need to get a five star park is. Makes it a lot more engaging then simply plopping down a hotel, arcade, clothes shop and restuarant near every viewing gallery. Guests wants are communicated slightly better and paths, shelters, etc. make even a bare bones five star challenge park look like a beautiful well done theme park in contrast to previous games where its a mess of buildings and hotels huddled in one place to artificially inflate a rating with a big multisectioned square of fences with nothing but diplos and dilophos in them.

Jurassic World Evolution

Jurassic World Evolution

Jurassic World: Evolution is a game that is stilted, sterile and constrictive in its park building gameplay, level design and soundtrack. Being a spiritual successor to 2003’s Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis, it somehow manages to come short of doing certain things better than its predecessor even with the impressive and amazing visuals, increased dinosaur roster and DLCs.

Its park building management is incredibly shallow and the game feels largely incomplete despite the current dinosaur roster size and especially without the DLC packs.

WAR PARTY

WAR PARTY

I’m always looking for new RTS games since they are a rare thing these days. However, Im often very dissapointed by what I find.

Well, that is NOT the case with war party !!!

This game is only on early access but it’s impressive how good it is ! it’s easy to understand as it possesses a lot of classical RTS mechanics but also some new stuff that make the game deep, fun and challenging.

The + :

  • cool and unusual universe (caveman x dinos x vaudou) : You can produce some T-rex ans some mounted velociraptor or go with some witch doctor and zombies

As a long time supporter going back all the way back to the alpha, here are my thoughts about the game as of launch.

The strengths:

  • 3 asymmetric, visually distinct factions.

  • Will have a campaign in the full release.

  • Dedicated servers are near-flawless. Forget about desyncs, laggy gameplay due to peer to peer etc.

  • League-rank system just like in Starcraft 2.

  • Excellent matchmaking that expands search, starting at your ELO. This makes for close games once you stabilize your ELO.

Parkasaurus

Parkasaurus

Okay, so I’m a huge fan of zoo-based park management games, right? I’ve spent a good portion of my childhood pretty much wasting away on them. Zoo Tycoon, Wildlife Park, Jurassic World Genesis, Zoo Empire, you name it. But I’ll be honest, when I first saw Parkasaurus, I really did not think I would enjoy this game all that much. Probably because it’s been so long since we’ve had a really good zoo management game (ZT2 Ultimate Collection is still considered the best by many zoo management fans, myself included, and that was released in ’08, so 10-11 years ago now), coupled with my own initial dislike for the ridiculously huge-eyed goofy art style and the fact that it’s solely focused on dinosaurs. Personally, I just didn’t have high expectations here.

☆The Old(est) Fashioned ‘Zoo Tycoon'☆

Parkasaurus has been on my wishlist for I dont know how long.

Right now, it’s the steam summer sale and I’ve been looking at games to distract me during the long heated summer hours.

I’ve been interested but I never really wanted to put £20 on it, like, it looked fun, but it’s…isometric? …Ehhh….

What I hadn’t realised was that the game is actually full on, low-poly style 3D! It’s not completely isometric art, and I appreciate that so much for a reason I’ll explain down below. I have played 4.5 hours so far, definitely going back for more, and this has let me play through two campaign levels (there’s loads left to do!) and the tutorial level.
