Vagrus - The Riven Realms
Genuinely good. Multiple ways to play through, interesting conceits and brutal treatment of mistakes. A player really gets the feeling that their choices matter to their future and no decision is taken lightly, whether in the scripted events or even in just where to go. Great game to replay using different builds and goals, which adds longevity. A really good strong start form the devs, they should be proud of their product. I hope they continue to build and improve.

Vagrus is for particular tastes. Do you want an open world trade-simulation oriented RPG with a lot of content, almost all of which is delivered through text? Are you ok with playing a character that never appears in the game except through choices and effects you make on your trade caravan, your companions, and the factions you fight or ally with? Are you ok with these choices changing the course of the overall story only in a limited way, so the bulk of your player effect is in how you choose to advance your caravan and companions and not how you destroy an enemy or change the world? Most of the big moments in the game are finding out about something that is going on, but being unable to completely stop it. Sometimes you can’t effect it at all. But, you learn, and in almost every way in Vagrus, knowledge is power. The user interface is wonky, the gameplay is deep but takes a long time to get your head around, and currently the Internet will not answer all of your many questions about how the world works. Filament
Innovative, challenging puzzles and an engaging story
Filament is a puzzle game that feels like it took a lot of inspiration from “The Witness”: It features a huge amount of puzzles which are all based on the same mechanic (laying a single cable around a number of pillars to activate them and unlock the exit), but provide lots of different variations within this mechanic (e.g. pillars that must not be touched, pillars that must be touched several times, pillars that change the color of your cable while others can only be activated with a specific color, etc.). These puzzles are placed in a small sort-of open world, so you’ll usually have about a dozen of different puzzles available to you at any time. If you get stuck on one, there are always others to try your hand on before you return with perhaps some new ideas.

Filament is a bittersweet puzzle game with challenging line-based logic puzzles.
The puzzles are presented in a 3-D plane and the player must use a series of robots connected to the wall to wrap around pillars in the correct manner to solve the puzzle and unlock the door. Completing a series of puzzles reveals more of the story through emails from the crew and Juniper reminiscing over the intercom.
The rules of puzzles are taught through the use of simple rooms, where players are able to experiment and deduce the rules of each section before moving ahead to the complex puzzles. I found this to be very effective, and create a sense of accomplishment, as if the rules themselves were a puzzle to solve too. Controlling the robots in order to solve the puzzle feels smooth, especially when using the run option (Which is toggled on/off by pressing Shift, I found this to not be clearly defined in the game). Backtracking and resetting options are quick allowing for quick reattempts of sections or entire puzzles, as there is inevitably some trial and error. There is some frustration when the robot looks like it should fit through a gap or it doesn’t, or the angle of a filament is slightly different than anticipated, but it is part of the puzzle to find a solution that works.

Lobotomy Corporation | Monster Management Simulation
This game is really great. I don’t usually play games like these as I usually go for FPS and multiplayer games, but this was a nice change of pace. My friends got me into it and I blame them for my addiction. Managing all kinds of abnormalities and trying not to let everyone die was a fun experience. The only qualm I have with the game is when it bugged for me. At certain points in the game you gain more abnos in the facility to produce energy and learn more about them to make the game easier. I had a glitch that would just kind of yoink abnos and department research. I restarted the game multiple times, asked for help on reddit and a discord server, but all I got was “That’s Lobotomy” and one guy who tried to help. It’s a bit glitch so I understand that weird stuff happens and nobody can really help, but that set me back a bit. I just had to uninstall the game for a bit apparently. I can’t wait to continue my journey in more games.

I stopped playing for a few months and when I got back a patch broke my game so it wouldn’t boot up. Angela refused to let me start it for a week straight and gaslit gatekept girlbossed me into a month of unpaid overtime when it did work. I am writing this review from the Shelter of the 27th of March because I forgot how all the Abnormalities worked while away. Ha ha.

Pathologic 2
I had a very hard time thinking of what I’d write for Pathologic 2. Despite the fact that there are so many reviews, this one got some attention, and I really appreciate that. I feel compelled to write something because it’s deep into my bones and it’s not showing any sign of leaving. It just feels like it deserves a review. Having gone through it now multiple times, I can honestly say it’s become one of my favorite games and that’s against a lifetime wasting time on them.
First and foremost, is this a horror game and if you don’t like horror games will this be too intense? The first answer is “kinda” and the second answer is “no”. It’s a horror game in that the tone and mood are quite dark and the general feeling of the game is eerie. There are certainly spooky things you’re going to experience here and there. Is there lots of gore, jumpscares or terribly intense horror movie moments? No, not really, and if you can get through the average episode of the original Twilight Zone then you’re brave enough for Pathologic 2. Tension is there, fear is often present, but it’s the kind of fear and tension that is trying to teach you something, not just give you nightmares. I recommend wearing headphones when you play to get the full experience of the atmosphere, or taking them off if you are feeling yourself getting too creeped out.

I would rate this game 9/10, but it may not be a 9 for everyone. Let me over-explain.
Pathologic 2 is a bit of a mash up of a survival game and plague doctor simulator. The game is both a remake and a sequel of the original Pathologic that was released in 2005. You don’t need to play the original game as it references the original as having happened, but retells the story with big alterations and new plot points. The original game had three characters you could play with different views of the story, but this one only has the Haruspex at the moment. However, even just this one route will give you a full, complete game with an average of 30+ hours of gameplay. The developers are planning to eventually release the other two routes in the future, budget willing. This game was made with the idea that a game doesn’t always have to be fun, sometimes a game can stretch you out and make you question what it’s asking you to do. You will get stressed, you will get frustrated, and you will start to doubt whether you can even do everything the game is asking you to do, but that’s the point. It will take well known tropes and rules of gaming and break them in an attempt to break you. It tries to make you feel as if you’ve actually gone through the experience of trying to save a town from a disease and how crushing, frustrating, and heartbreaking it can be to try to do that. This in turn makes the joy from the moments when things go right that much sweeter.

Basically, the plot of the game is aimed at our main character - Matthew Delaney, who was forced to run away from his house, as he was captured by geese, after which our main character decides to go to a new world, but that turns out to be not so simple and just as interesting in adventure plan.

Lanternium is a nice puzzle game that has potential but sadly fails in too many things.
The camera is awful and the main reason why Im giving it thumbs down-In a puzzle game such as this you should be able to see the whole map and use the mouse to move the camera but instead you have to constantly rotate the camera and the angles on the cam view are awful.
Second,the controls are clunky and slow when you need to be fast.
Graphics are awful and the whole game is so ugly your eyes will hurt.
Music is repetitive and boring.
