Intravenous

Intravenous

Intravenous is a stealth-based shooter with a top-down view, and I love it because when stealth goes out the window, you can still pull the situation back.

Gameplay-wise, the game is very, very good. Stealth, while not mandatory, is HEAVILY recommended because the combat is absolutely brutal. Generally, the stealth will consist of you trying your damned best to avoid guards, while the combat will be spamming many claymores at your back. The game heavily rewards exploration of the maps with stuff such as gun supplies and vent shafts that can be used to cheat a level. The gameplay loop is very fun, but on the highest difficulty, the game suffers a bit due to removal of gunplay. On the highest difficulty, since everything dies in one shot, low ROF guns become a joke, while high ROF guns become ““meta””.

A masterpiece of the genre, a twist of early ’00s Splinter Cell style stealth, with a Hotline Miami-esque top down view. Shadow is your only safety when death is but a bullet away.

Punishingly difficult in stealth or full blown combat, your most lethal tools get you killed just as quick as they will your enemies, a poorly timed suppressed gunshot can bring a swarm down upon you, or frags and claymores blast shrapnel far beyond what you expect. Empty magazines, cans, and bottles make great distractions, and a Chaos Theory inspired OCP device lets you knock out lights and cameras. Dancing around your enemies in the dark is difficult, but one slip and the hunt is on, they don’t let up. The AI is smart enough to avoid a trap, opting to take cover and taunt you out.

Spy Chameleon - RGB Agent

Spy Chameleon - RGB Agent

Awesome game! I hardly ever go for indie titles or casual games, but this one is a total anomaly! With damn near infinite replay value thanks to the fly/time/ladybug challenges plus a global leaderboard, this game has had me hooked since I picked it up 24 hours ago.

Spy Chameleon has one of the best learning curves I’ve ever experienced in a game - many levels are made in a way that is easy enough to complete, but difficult to master, especially in the later stages. The difficulty very gradually goes up, to the point where you don’t even really realize that it’s getting more difficult until you’re trying to break the world record and you fail 50 times.

Spy Chameleon - RGB Agent is a fun, unique and charming indie game for fans of stealth and puzzle games.

It a fairly short, but challenging game. I completed the game with 29/30 achievements in a little over 11 hours. It can be difficult and will have you raging at times, but it’s very enjoyable. There are some indie games that are so challenging, you feel like the developers hate you and just want you to suffer. However, this game is difficult enough to make you feel challenged without making you feel like completing it is an impossible task.

Celeste meets Tron!

There’s nothing much to dislike in this game: It’s got tight controls, gorgeous neon graphics, and a powerful soundtrack!

Don’t be fooled by the first levels, it can get really challenging real fast!

If you are into hardcore platformers and enjoy stimulating levels, you can’t go wrong with this one.

Recommended!

So basically everything I liked about Volume 1 and the Prologue is here, with the added bonus of some QoL changes made. Movement is tight and satisfying, graphics are very aesthetically pleasing and the music is just great.

If you want precision platforming in the vein of kaizo Mario maps and Celeste, look no further. This is it.

This game is just lovely.

This does have that SWAT 4 tactical style of gameplay, and it’s a lot of fun, even in solo. The game is very nicely polished and balanced.

While when I first saw the trailer, the icons instead of player sprites seemed a bit of an odd aesthetic choice, I quickly got used to them, and gotta admit that it was an appropriate choice for this kind of game. You get information about your unit and their weapons displayed very neatly and visibly and it puts more emphasis on the actual tactics. The minimalistic design of the game allowed the developers to polish the main gameplay loop to a point where it just… FEELS really good to play.

Most of the complaints about this game seem to revolve around the theme of “This isn’t how I think it should be so it must be bad”. For every complaint I have read, I also see a lack of understanding about a game mechanic or tactics in general. There were a few instances where I had no idea why certain things were happening only to find out there was something about the game that was not specifically addressed in the tutorial or any particular level, so I did not know to look for it. But once I realized what it was (specifically, the icon distinction between holding a weapon and pointing a weapon), I could adjust. I played through the entire game solo with only a handful of trouble spots, so the whole “difficulty is built around multiplayer” argument is completely invalid.

Please. Read this entire review before you come to a conclusion about whether or not to try this game & remember that most of the following complaints come from the last mode, Sage mode, & all my losses were mostly my fault. While the RNG is either the worst or most noticeable in that mode, I got impatient & left my cover when I thought I had enough time, so a lot of my rage was self-inflicted.

As problematic as this game will sound, as awful as I’m going to make it appear, please understand that it functions perfectly fine & is still a product of effort, clearly seen in the art & AI.

Master Spy

Master Spy

Yes, this game is difficult. It requires memorization and rapid-yet-precise controller movements, especially in the later stages. You will have to figure out some game mechanics via trial and error. When you fail, you will likely have to start over from a much earlier checkpoint.

This describes Master Spy. And Ninja Gaiden. And Ghouls ‘n’ Ghosts. And Metal Gear.

In this game, you play as the Master Spy, a contract spook who can infiltrate past any security blockade. You can walk, jump, somersault jump, don your optical-camouflage coat, and crack computer terminals. Get spotted, and you lose.

Real player with 13.6 hrs in game

Pre-review advice: At least buy the soundtrack. Buy it no matter what. I sincerely doubt you’ll regret it.

Master Spy is primarily a precision platformer, secondarily a stealth platformer, and also really, really, really really reallyreally

REALLY hard.

You play as Master Spy, a (not very imaginative) master spy who excels in infiltrating places with the help of his invisibility trench coat. This comes in handy, as he is a pussy and will surrender to any man who glances at him sideways from behind a panel of reinforced glass, and also because the places he has to break into are [insert comparison to Fort Knox’s security here]. You’ve been hired to recover a data reel which is apparently so important that World War Three isn’t even the worst case scenario. Your contract will take you to many places, like mansions, yachts, assassin dens, and dangerous factories, and there are really interesting and well done cutscenes in between each to continue the story.

GAIN

GAIN

An interesting concept of a game, I have played this for around an hour so far and the farthest I’ve got is the start of level 3, the game allows you to live as Xavier, a guy hoping to collect the documents and exit through the door.

One thing I have noticed though is that the crosshair is not aligned with the bullets, I aim down the gun sights rather than using the crosshair, and the knife can sometimes float away.

Other than that it’s addictive and fun :)
